Near the top of a forum page there are links for
  • Mark Forums Read
  • Search Forums
  • Watched Forums
  • Watched Threads
  • New Posts

It'd be nice if there was also a "Recent Posts" link that results in a display of all recent posts, in reverse chronological order, regardless of whether you've read them or not.

There is a new posts link across the top of the forum
Yes, I know. I listed it. Not the same thing. Once you read a post it no longer shows up under "New Posts." A "Recent Posts" listing would list all recent posts, in reverse chronological order, regardless of whether or not you've read them.

I almost suggested a Stylish, Grease Monkey script for doing what you're suggesting. That was until I recalled my last looking for scripts designed for this particular forum. When I did that, I saw none.

A nice thought for some developer, host a version of grep/egrep and make it freely accessible to the public to use online. Ah, wait there's always Google or some other search engine. Possibly use some regex in your search query of the forum.

"Posts from X date to Y date at vapingunderground.com", might possibly do what your wanting. Not too sure it will but it's something I might try if it were of that much concern for me. If it were of that magnitude of concern, I might even get a data jack installed so as to directly interface and know instantly when there was newer posts.

Forgive me if it seems I'm belittling your difficulty, or problem. If I do so it is only in a sense of jovial levity and not maliciously. Can agree your idea seems reasonable & might like something similar, but for myself it isn't something perceived as pressing.
