A buddy of mine that I introduced to vaping to help him quit smoking a year ago came up to me laughing with a set of 25R batteries that were blackened on both positive ends. He told me he saw smoke coming from his lunch cooler and he opened it to find these batteries almost stuck together and a hole.burned in the side of his cooler. I looked at the batteries again and saw the condition of the wrapping and it looked almost like fishnet stockings. I LOST IT!

I sat him down and had a serious talk with him ONCE AGAIN about battery safety and what coild happen is a battery shorted out, over loaded, etc... He still thinks it's a joke... I dug in the trash after he carelessly threw the old batteries in the trash to retrieve them so I could wrap them seperately in tape and dispose of them properly.

How can I get through to him how important it is to handle batteries safely... BEFORE he hurts himself or someone else?

Sure seems like that situation would have done it, doesn't it? Maybe ask him how funny he'd think it was if that had happened when the mod was in his pocket? Maybe if he was in the hospital right now he wouldn't be so amused.

Dunno. People are just oblivious sometimes. Act like teenagers, think they're bulletproof. Sometimes the hard way is the only way they learn.

He sounds like the type that if it had been in his pocket, he'd be the new headline: "Vape explodes!" Otherwise known as "This Week's Idiot Vaper in the Media."

Got a preliminary reply from FT on the ticket I filed day before yesterday for the order that has gone to NeverNeverLand. They acknowledge that it is past time for it to have been tracked as received here in the States, and have sent out a request for the package to be located. They say they'll let me know when someone acknowledges it's been lost.

In five days it will have been a month since I placed that order. If I haven't heard from them by then, I think I'll file a dispute with Paypal. I'm not going to wait forever for someone to tell me something.

Other than that, I just vaped and vaped all day while I have been working at home. Found some juice that had gone missing, plus my Wismec Machina that has the Csmnt (V1 clone) on it that I thought I had lost. My recliner gobbles things up and you can't see or reach them without moving the chair completely out of place. Now if I could only find the TFA Bittersweet Chocolate that I've never had a chance to use

Am about to go dig in the vapocalypse box to get one of the Crea squonkers out. Have a blue Elder Dragon that is lonesome over there, not being used. Those two pieces will go well together.

ETA: This Crea is a damn good vape for the money. Hits harder than most small 18650 squonkers I've tried.

Yes, my younger self was a bit easier on the eyes. It's weird, because it doesn't seem that long ago, that pic was made... but it was about 14-15 yrs ago... circa 2004-2005. So I would have been 43-44. The other one, that I was using for a while, was from 2014; that was my first smoke-free xmas.. and that was 5 yrs ago now.

I've kinda sworn off having my picture taken; too much risk nowadays of breaking the camera. The face hasn't changed all that much, but my neck has grown this unauthorized wattle. I always wondered why the wimple was so fashionable in the middle ages, and now I know!

I picked one up yesterday from a local shop.Running it with a Shen Ray Hadaly clone. I'm really surprised at the vape. Worth every bit of that $30.
Cheap squonks

I ordered another RTA from Element Vape on sale for my prepping stash. Unfortunately they didn't have it in black so I went with the stainless steel version which is fine. I think I'll pick up 2 more RTA's in stainless as well and I should be set with equipment, then focus on bulk nic. The feds can kiss my white ass...

I've been playing around with my latest mod, got the drag2 on sale. My feelings are kind of mixed on it. I'm not unhappy with it but after the hype for the original maybe underwhelmed? I remember all the articles about ooh is the gene chip the next dna killer? Let me just say - ahem, no. Not hardly. If I had to compare the gene chip in the drag2 to something else, I'd say it's about on par with the smok alien.
I've read if you dont get the Drag 2 Platinum version, the paint comes off pretty bad over time.

I've never owned a Drag mod myself. I remember someone said the GV Nova fires just as quick as a Drag. That was their big thing with the first one IIRC, the firing speed. Most mods power buttons are pretty responsive these days.

I like the angle of the photo and your bangs! And the red hair. It looks “witchy” in a medieval way, imho.
It seems like since Y2K time moved really quickly. I can’t believe this decade is ending soon. It feels like things got speeded up. Yep, I’m reaching for my tinfoil beret! Lol

I used an emery board to remove arc spots on my 21700 battery and the button in my Vindicator

I resisted the strong urge to buy another 21700 tube mech

rewicked my rdas

exhaled many large clouds of glycol aerosol

plotted out tomorrow's course of action for mucho coil building

I'm afraid I don't know what you mean by vintage tips haha

When I was looking for their site a couple months ago, I found a site that I think was called Lawless that was using vintage materials like Tiffany pens etc to make tips.
They were expensive but one of a kind. I can’t find the site now. Hmm, like a reverse Mandela effect. It has disappeared!

Mooch is one 'expert' that I will pretty much blindly follow his advise as far as LI battery's go. Cap style not so much ;)
There are very few on this planet that hold that status with me.

Good luck.

"pretty much" , lol. yeah, i have stepped into that territory.

i took it out at 4.01v. i will check it throughout the day and see if its holding. if good, full'ish charge tomorrow.

btw, do you remember that battery of mine that died and came back yo life ?
i have been using the crap out of it daily, for what, the last 4-5 months now. no problems.

I am a tight assed bassid.
however I will not risk fire or injury over the cost of a battery.

As I said good luck.

A screaming, gasoline-drenched, blood-sucking, bat-winged cabbage that screeches and swoops down out of trees at night and either,
1) Rips off your head and drains your body of all fluid via the newly created wound, or
2) Misses the intended target horribly (usually you) and plows into the ground, pops like a grape, and spews flaming ooze everywhere. Neither have very high survival ratings.

What woke your imagination up this morning, huh? LOL!!! Jeez!!!

A bat-winged cabbage. Glad I haven't seen one of those streaking through the air at my house. Might have to unload my bazooka on that mofo.

Ya know I would have traded you for coils. I wish I would have thought of it before now.

I'm glad you didn't offer, I barely resisted - I need dollars right now to get my car legal again so I can get a "real" job, not an extra tube mech

It was a close one, though hehe

I hear ya. I've been buying too much lately and getting in trouble with my wife. Been trying to prepare for the vape unknown.

For those who do not have a piece of cherry lying around I made these out of elcheapo bamboo flooring samples from Lowes.
the one on the right holds my coiling tools and such.
