Hey all! I wasn't sure where to post this as it's really just me rambling about how much I love the Vaporesso Gen.

I had seen some reviews for the Gen online which intrigued me about it especially when reviewers mentioned Pulse mode, & particularly the feel of the mod. After some searching, last week I found a great deal online that I couldn't pass up ($32 + shipping). So finally, after some hemming and hawing, I decided to finally order the black one, mod only. At that price I figured it was a small risk, & boy did it pay off.

I'll start by simply saying that Vaporesso, you've outdone yourself on the Gen. Seeing it first-hand, I was shocked at how gorgeous the thing is. It's so sleek & sexy. The feel of the grip is out of this world. It's this golf ball type dimpled surface with a pleasant, almost rubbery feel that's difficult to describe in the best way. Once you feel it for yourself, you'll probably be like me - practically unable to put it down. It's such a smooth, soft, & grippy feeling that I've never experienced before. The mod also fits perfectly in my hand, & is surprisingly lightweight. Wonderful.

Not only is it beautiful, but vaping in Pulse mode is a treat. I love it. The Axon chip fires extremely fast & the vape experience is fantastic. I have a matching black Profile Unity RTA sitting on it, & together they equal heaven. When I installed the atomizer I could hear the short pulse fire the mod does to scan the atomizer, which is new & impressive. I also love the ease with which you can navigate the menus, & I like that it has a dedicated menu button.

Speaking of the menu & its features, I can't wait to try Power Eco mode. I'm always worried about battery life when I'm out & about, & that is a great insurance policy to have built in. Having the battery percentage listed is a plus in my book, because I don't like relying on just a graphic to determine my remaining battery level. When I eventually try TC it'll also likely be on this mod because of Smart TC.

The battery door is probably the most tightly fit I've ever seen for this magnetic plate style. It doesn't budge in the slightest even if you try. Other companies would do well to emulate this craftsmanship on their future battery doors, because no one likes anything rattling on a mod.

I've been generally moving toward single 21700 mods lately, most recently purchasing a Vandy Vape Jackaroo. I absolutely love the Jackaroo, & I think it's a strong contender for Mod of the Year. So the Gen was a departure from my recent buying trend, but I cannot overstate how happy I am that I bought it. I don't see myself using any other dual 18650 mod for a while because I can't keep my hands off this thing.

Anyway, I realize I'm gushing here, but I really am that impressed with the Gen.

I have heard of some people having problems with (at least on the sample/review units) loose 510 connections & discoloration where the atomizer sits atop the mod, but I haven't experienced either of those issues or anything else to put me off of this device. I realize I just got the thing so there's always a chance something unforeseen will happen. If so, I'll update everyone here.

If you're reading this, trying to decide whether or not to buy a Gen, please do yourself a favor & get one. You won't be disappointed; at least I'm not! Thank you, Vaporesso, for creating what in my opinion is Mod of the Year in 2019! And that's saying a lot because, as I mentioned previously, there have been some other really nice ones released this year!

Anyway, I'm off to vape on my Gen again & feel its sexy body in my hands! :)

I love mine, it's my favorite mod that I have. In fact, I'm about to order another one. Very light, great battery life in eco mode which is why I got it. Vaporl has it for about $32.00 which is what I got it for from 8 Vape when it first came out. Just deciding on whether or not to order from them as I don't know much about them.
:wait:

Is it made of some kind of plastic like the Thinkvape Thor or Aspire Puxos?
Not sure what to make of it, Mr T says it's not made of plastic, I thought Daniels review said it was plastic? The finish is rubberized but around the 7min mark he mentions the plastic housing and has it disassembled showing a sort of unusual metal bracket inside to help brace the 510 and sturdy it up.

Ok thanks, I was just wondering. In no way did I mean my question in a bad way. I really like my lighter weight mods. I might get one of these the next time I'm shopping. The bad press it got when the samples got reviewed kind of steered me away. If the complaints are a non-issue now, I want to try it out.

Yea so long as it's comfortable and reasonably durable. Lots of plastic mods out, cuts down on weight and likely cheaper than aluminum or something. Weight is very similar to the swell and that mod is plastic also. Basically any dual battery mods I find too heavy to comfortable put in the pocket (especially wearing shorts, drop my trouser 'round my ankles) lmao. But some are definitely weightier. I had got used to the weight of the revenger, got an eclipse and while I wasn't worried about the material it was made of, didn't look like it was built like a tank. Took it out of the box, the mod empty weighs damn near what the revenger did with batteries. Quite a bit heavier. Not a huge issue but lighter weight are my preference as well.

I love mine! The surprising part(for me) was the weight. I have many two battery mods that are waaaaaay heavier than the Gen. I like how it feels in my hand. Works like a dream. Love it!

I agree, the weight really surprised me as well. I love the eco mode too, the batteries seem to last longer before needing recharging. As I said before, it's my favorite mod so far. Seems like it's built well and will last, nothing cheap or flimsy about it. I will get another one at some point.

Ive been using the vaporesso gen for about 2 weeks.. and as a newbie i think this mod is very newbie friendly.. the mode is not that complicated, anything you ees to know is in the manual...
Ive been using rda single coil, rda dual coil and rta single coil with the gen.. the firing turn on instantly..
i dont know how the pulse mode works but when i try to compare the pulse mods with normal watt mods, it just feels different in positive way...

Really been enjoying this. Pulse mode produces a very smooth vape, IMO. Haven't even used the other modes, except to do a back-to-back between Pulse and Wattage.

So, nobody here who owns one of these things has experienced either the discolouration problem or any issues with the 510 connector?

I haven't had any issues at all, and mine has been used daily since I got it.
That's good to know. Thanks for the follow-up! Of the three mods currently under consideration, I really think this is the one I want. I watched Vaping with Vic's review of the thing and he was just wild about it. Of the reviews of his I've watched, I don't know as I've ever seen him that pumped about a product.

Now: Black/Red or straight black? I think the black/red looks awesome, but then I'm limited to what colour tanks I can put atop it. E.g.: I have a couple stainless/red Falcon Kings. Completely different shade of red, though. So that combination might look kinda funky. OTOH: The straight black looks kind of boring.

Can't help you with the color, but I do recommend the mod. Everything that's said about the feel in-hand is spot on. It has a unique texture that is just simply pleasant to hold. And I really enjoy the pulse mode. It's kind of hard to describe, but it seems to be a more consistent and smooth vape, like it isn't underpowered at the beginning or overpowered at the end of a pull.

Anybody got a source in the US that is selling the green one for mid $30 range. I’ve been wanting a Gen since I first saw it and when all the positive reviews came in I was sure I wanted one. Then I seen the green and wanted that color just because it looks cool, green is my favorite color, and it’s different. I just don’t want to pay more for the color or have to wait longer just because I’m not in need of a new mod I just want it so I can wait. Haven’t found one yet so maybe someone has so please share if you have.

A late update but giantvapes has the green and other new colors for $45 with 25% off with code. Nice price and they already shipped it and I should get it Monday. That’s some serious service and I’m impressed with giantvapes and likely to use them again. Just wanted to share my experience

https://www.myfreedomsmokes.com/gen-box-mod-by-vaporesso.html got mine for just under 39 using the MFS18BF plus if you have points cheaper still.

So i'll be testing this one next... last mod for my stash.
I paid $34 and change at giant with bfcm25 code. This is also my last mod for the stash, unfortunately so was my last one so...
If I like it as much as I think I will this one is gonna be called up to the big show and I’ll either send my Cylon or my Drag 2 down to the minors. I keep looking at green tanks to top my green Gen. Its kinda ridiculous I need to match the colors but the Uwell Crown 4 looks like a good match so it’s gonna be hard to resist. Especially since I love my crown 1 which is put away in the stash but haven’t used a Uwell tank since. Also it seems to get really good reviews, only I need a new tank less then I needed another mod and I didn’t need a new mod at all.
Hello my name is Rooster and I’m addicted to vape gear. I’ve heard vape gear addiction or “shinyitus” is even more addictive than smoking and drinking put together. Since it took decades to quit smoking I have little chance of beating my shinytitus addiction before I die so it kinda takes the pressure of quitting off my back.

well for me my big league mods are my paranormal 250 (red panel) usually has a gunmetal kylin m on it. and currently tinker 2 red with a unity and my topside dual squonk with ultem profile. my Aegis legend Is my RDA desk pusher rarely used so it is a minor league hopeful. if i like the gen then the tinker two is going to the minors.

i end up with black mods and SS or Very easy to match colors. So any OCD is in check. the only outliers are the Odan Tank i won in Blue that is currently in use for a second batch testing but at the coil cost (this needs an RBA of somekind for long term use but is a nice drop in coil tank with the .3 coils and the right juice your using a coil a week. )
