What do ya like? College or pro? What's your team?

Like both college and pro, but been watching more college lately. The officiating is just better in the college game. The mostly let them play. The officiating in the NFL is making it hard to watch.

College team: Don't have a favorite. I follow all of the major Texas teams.
Pro Team: Houston Texans is my home town team. In the NFC I follow the Saints, Cowboys, and Green Bay.

Everyone knows my favorite NFL team already. The Detroit lions. They're a family tradition. I do get tired of saying "we'll get em next year!"

For college, I follow Michigan. They've had a rough 10 years or so?

Hurts me to hear you follow Green Bay when Stafford was born and raised in Texas

I agree that college can be more fun to watch. Less rigged games/corruption.

I don't understand why it's called FOOTball. The foot is used for 4 plays, Kickoff, FG, PAT, and punt. The vast majority of the plays involve the use of the hands. Soccer is the true FOOTball.

That being said, the NFL lost me with Kaepernick and the rest of the kneelers. I don't really follow college either. Better things to do with my time than sit in front of the TV for a 1 hour game that takes 3 hours to play.

I'm chinese me and my dad are pretty big football fans. (Not something u see everyday lol)

My dads a Bears fan and he graduated from the university of Illinois, so u know he's a gonna be repping his school. He's also Cowboys fan, back then with tom Landry and roger staubach.

But he doesn't rep teams much afterwards cuz as long as there is football is quite happy

I'm packers fan, Bret farve was my favorite player, also a Seahawks fan cuz I'm from Vancouver Canada and Seahawks were close so I grew up following. I was a USC fan and then a Pete Carroll fan.

Much like CJ up above here I like Notre Dame for college and Da BEARS in the NFL. I don’t watch college nearly as much as the NFL but that will be changing soon if my Bears continue to play like hot garbage. Mitch’s play is maddening, I don’t know what we did to deserve our QB’s in Chicago. You’d think we’d fall ass backwards into a decent quarterback at least once in the history of this storied franchise, but nope. I loved McMahon, he showed up at Halas Hall after being drafted, gets out of the limo to greet the media with a cold brew in his hand. When questioned about this he said if you don’t want me to drink a beer then don’t have them in the mini fridge when you pick me up from the airport. Him and Ditka were priceless together with their battles. But I digress, he was only a mediocre quarterback. All pro personality but that don’t win games. So the best we had in our history is Sid Luckman and Jay Cutler. Best defense ever and greatest football player to ever lace them up, in Sweetness but I’d like a great QB. It’s time, we’ve suffered long enough, please football gods answer my prayers. Well surely no one is still reading this besides maybe CJ so I’ll wrap it up with a GO Bears!!

I call it Throwing Eggball :D

True story: One day my wife and I were waiting for some-or-another Throwing Eggball game to end so we could watch the programming that was supposed to be on. Had the TV muted. I looked over and saw my wife watching the game! Fascinated, I watched her watching the game. Finally she turns to me and says "Do they actually ever play the game?"
lol.gif

I think that was also the time she asked me how much longer the game had to go and I replied "Five minutes of play left." She was happy our program would soon be on. "Oh no, you don't understand," I told her. "In reality that game won't be over for at least another twenty minutes." "Why?" she asked. "You've just seen why," I explained.

Soccer is the true FOOTball.
It's a funny old thing. Many Americans claim soccer is "boring." Really? Soccer, where they actually play the game continuously in two 45 minute periods is boring, but throwing eggball, where you get five or ten seconds of play at a time, with an intervening several minutes of people playing grab-ass, sports droids pontificating about what just happened, and commercial breaks, is... interesting?

Could you imagine how good Staffard would be if he had a better front office? I think they finally have a decent coach. He is a damn good QB.

Bridgewater did really well while Brees was hurt. Brees is fun to watch play.

It's a shame. Wasting his career.

It's ok because when Tom Brady retires, Stafford will be traded to the Patriots. Then I'll be a Patriots fan lol

Thankfully in that case the saints are a good system team. They have gotten really good at having plenty of offensive options built into the offensive plays. Yeah Brees is a system QB; but, per the numbers he is a great system QB.

I am a diehard Saints fan. Grew up in Slidell Louisiana. WHO DAT!!!! I can remember going to games with my dad in all the "Aints" years, and asking him if we had tickets. Not gonna be a problem he would say, just gotta decide if we are wearing bags today :p Wife is a huge Bears fan, and kids (corrupted bu their grandparents) are Packers fans. So they duke it out all the time, but pull for my Saints unless playing one of those two lol.
Don't really do college, but my dad graduated from and cheers for Oklahoma State, and I was too stupid to go, so I pull for them.

Agreed, and if Brees does get a SB and retire this year, I'll take it. Hill is gonna flourish in that system imho.

I wasn't a fan of teddy before brees got hurt. BUT, after the last 5 or 6 weeks I would be fine with Teddy taking over and letting Hill remain the jack of all trades.

I don't think it's gonna happen, although I would take it as well. Teddy only signed for this year, and he's getting paid and going somewhere to start next year, I think.

Maybe I should say most QB's as I believe most of them are successful because of the system they are in.

I agree. I heard Miami offered him the job at the begining of the season, and he said no thanks. I would rather be the back up in this system. Smart, smart move by him

Miami offered him 7 million to start with a 3 year contract. The saints wouldn't move at what I think was 4 or 5 million. He opted to stay with saints to "learn more from Sean and Drew."
I hadn't heard of any offer made for next year yet though.

No, I haven't heard of anything for next year yet either, but I think there will be. Chicago should make a play for him I think.

That’s my thinking as well; Chicago would be the perfect team to destroy any hopes he has of success. JK I’d love to have him, whoever gets him will be paying top dollar, he’s gonna have his pick of several teams I bet.

Being a Chicago-area resident, the dumpster fire that is the Chicago Bears has always been my team. They are really stinkin' it up this year, though. It seems like they have n ever been able to draft a QB because they can't seem to evaluate talent- no matter who the GM is. I also watch the Saints, because my aunt & uncle live there & took me to a game when I was 15 or so.

Notre Dame has always been my college team- I grew up watching Joe Theisman & Joe Montana play for them, as well as countless other great NFL players. I also like Iowa & LSU, too.

Steelers fan here... first game I watched with them was the Super Bowl in 1979, No idea what was going on... Pops was yelling.

And watching the Steelers play Buffalo as a kid in Orchard Park ( I lived in Rochester ) and watching games at Three Rivers... my mom hated it...she didn't go, Filipina lady in upstate NY or Pennsylvania in the winter don't mix well, but she hated that I missed school when we would go watch a Sunday game.

NCAAF I am a Pitt Fan... my pops was pissed the Steelers passed on Marino... 4 from Bradshaw, who knows how many possible with Marino, 2 with Ben... But I am sure a lot of teams were pissed passing on Marino in hindsight...especially when he was picked 27th of 28... but it was the golden year of the draft... so many HoF's.

Baseball... yup.. Pirates fan... again, 1979... year got me watching them... my pops was a Cubs fan...

NHL- If you haven't guessed yet... I am a Penguins fan ;) I started watching the Pens play in 1988.

Teams I also like:

Buffalo Bills - This team was force fed to you in Rochester - God bless if you were a Giants fan. Although being a Steelers fan, I truly wished they won one of those 4 super bowls.

Baltimore Orioles: Being from Rochester - Rochester Red Wings were the Trip-A club of the O's... Many many games at Silver Stadium as a kid

Your Bills delivered the biggest come from behind win in NFL history to my (then) Oilers in the AFC championship game. That game still stings. Only and only real shot a Houston football team had at going to a super bowl. I hope it will happen in my lifetime, but I'm not holding my breath.

I've always liked watching Big Ben play. I'm sure he isn't perfect but I hated watching him have to deal with the divas in Bell and Brown.

I was too young for the early 70's Steelers, but I have met Rocky Bleier and got to wear all 4 of his SB rings. He was the paid motivational speaker at a conference I was working.

Another Rochesterian here- yes the Buffalo Bills- we are long suffering fans here!
Bills losses in all 4 Super Bowls was tough - especially the 1st one against the Giants- Norwide will never be forgotten here-

I'm a BC LIONs fan. CFL anyone?

As much as I love Vancouver, I can't get in to CFL. Reason is my dads too American, he lived there for 8 years and I was raised by my dad. CFL is a much tougher game but the hype factor isn't there and just can't get in to it. (I grew up in Vancouver since 94)

At least the Bills have been to a SB. Closest I'll ever get to a SB was working SB 51 halftime show.

Didn't they make it to the SB 4 straight years and lost all of them.
The only time a Houston pro football team made it to a championship was in the days of the AFL before the merger. The Oilers won two AFL championships. Those were almost 10 years before my days.
