Now that District 5 has released an updated version of the CSMNT with proper post screws going the right way, squonk pin and a deeper juice well is anyone planning on picking one up? The OG was/is one of my favorite drippers made.

I feel like D5 is struggling. Hard to follow something up when you release a great product and set the bar kind of high. But after the csmnt, the layer cake was kind of a swing and a whiff. Now this, and while it's cool they got the post screws going the other direction I kind of feel like simply moving post screws 90 degrees doesn't make it a new product. My enthusiasm for it is lacking as much as their innovation. Not a fan of that top cap, maybe I'm biased but I thought one of the things that made the original sexy was the top/airflow cap being thicker and in line with the barrel of the main cap. The profile of this one with that sloped slam cap looking tip is meh.

I bought one last night...

Never owned the original... and since the new one has a 31% off code from D5 (Spooky) I figured I'd give this a try.

I am hopeful it wont be shit... getting tired of RDAs that are shit. (Performance wise)

Pretty sure my go-to builds will end up slightly higher resistance due to the length of the legs on this RDA... just by how much... time will tell.

Glad that they deepened the juice well. I had a clone of the v1, was still very good. Flavor was intense!

I don't think you'll be disappointed with the performance of it. It's a good rda, just not much difference over the original. Definitely roomy (for various builds). A lot of people suggested bending the coils outward toward the airflow, centered with the airflow, just above the airflow slots etc. I had no luck until I moved my coils upright more toward the center with only a couple mm between the coils so your results may vary. If you don't get saturated flavor with the coils leaning outward toward the airflow slots, try raising them up. Felt like my flavor nearly doubled.

I mean it looks deceptively basic but I've enjoyed mine. Only thing was a bit too much airflow for me with the original tip that came with it. I end up closing the airflow down just a bit and paired with a lawless 9mm id tip I had made restricts the airflow some without taking away the ability to drip through the tip.

Yeah been disappointed with the last few RDAs I’ve bought... The Terk V2 is really a big piece of shit...had high hopes for it being a builder designed it, but there is some nasty voltage loss in its design... not sure if it’s the PVD coated 510, or the Chinese coating that is on many China mfg atomizers, but I filed the posts smooth and filed the coating off the 510( just not the threads, can’t find my wire brushes) and the Terk’s I have both have .23v less (3.58v under load) compared to my Goon V1 with the same builds...not to mention those shit screws...

Other one was the Occula RDA...absolute love the clamps, but this thing suffers from the same voltage loss inherently as the Terk’s.

Really hoping this RDA isn’t shit in this regard, otherwise I’ll be stuck forever with my Goon.

Wish reviewers would do voltage tests with mechs using the RDAs they are reviewing, even some so called reviewers raved on the screws for the Terk and I though they were soft piece of shits

For my mechs I prefer these 3 when running dual coil.
1. Kali V2
2. Goon OG
3. CSMT

These are the best I own with the least amount of voltage drop in order, out of about 18 dual coil rda's that I have

Yeah I wish I was the type that was able to just enjoy an RDA on a mech tube and be like, "Ooh yeah this is nice, yadda yadda, vape vape" but I put performance (Voltage loss) as #1. (Please don't read that I am painting you as such)

If the Terk was like .08v or so low I can accept that... but its .23v less , hard to overlook.

I even tried simple 26g wire thinking with nominal mass they'd beat out the Goon(30T+Goon+Overlord+ high mass Aliens) and it still wouldnt... its like they built it with the intent to restrict it to 3.58v lol... cause both RDAs (Occula) was within .02v of each other.

Anyhoo, CSMNT was shipped today, coming from Los Angeles... could make it here tomorrow, but odds I'll play with it on Monday.

First thing I'll do is toss in the spare 3x27x36 3mm 5 wrap N80 Aliens .13Ω sitting here and do a voltage read... if it reads above 3.75v I'll be happy... if it reads 3.69 or lower, then its shit to me... wont even vape it and just toss it in the drawer with the other piece of shits lol

The Goon V1 Reads 3.79v with those coils and 3.84v I think it was with the fused I like running

Well the Cosmo arrived today... few things that disturbed me about it.

It's fucking filthy... Needed to go through the ultrasonic 8 passes... an 1h20m ... yeah

Secondly, wtf is up with that short ass 510... its barely protruding from the threads... luckily I have 2x1mm washers to extend the 510 pin out some... otherwise truly out of the box, its iffy to use on a hybrid mech.

Lastly... yeah... still comes behind the Goon V1 in raw performance... clocked in at 3.73v... .06v is nothing 3.5w... I can't feel that.

She vapes well... think I have to adjust the coils down closer to the deck... lil warm near the lips... more likely the shorter drip tip...

One thing I do like though... I can dump juice into it, unlike the Goon... always fear over dripping ;) with how the cotton is in this...not to Murphy myself... I can drop a tad more.

Outside of the filth and almost non-protruding 510... this isn't a bad RDA.

I give it a 8/10

Way better than the shit crap Terk V2/Occula RDA

@~Don~ May I ask what it is about the goon that you're trying to replace? You may have said and I missed it, but it seems as though everything is being compared to the goon. Don't get me wrong. This is not meant as a criticism in any way. We all have our priorities and I'm certainly not one to judge anyone, but I can learn from them, which is what I'm really trying to do.

Voltage... having a great flavorful rda on a mech tube with crappy voltage is not enjoyable at least to me... its like vaping a dead battery.

Now the Terk V2/Occula RDA... I might stick them on a regulated... they will vape well... but performance wise on a mech... they stink.

So not a toss in the drawer rda?

The filth is interesting because mine was very clean in the sealed plastic when I got it.

I bend my coils out towards the af, but I've seen people build straight up and claim to get good flavor. The first thing that went on mine was the drip tip and yeah, I'm running it on a mech, but not a hybrid so didn't really worry about the 510 length.

With a fully charged 30T I just hit my goon then the csmnt with both at .12 Aliens and the goon is a very slightly harder hit for me.

Yeah mine was in a bag in the lil toy box. But it didn’t pass the sniff test I do with all atomizers.

The whole China made stuff for me always have oil residue, and it took some toothbrush scrubbing and then 8 passes to where I couldn’t smell it anymore.

I’m on the fence with the drip tip, I do like the Goons on it, but then I won’t have but the cosmos drip tip on the goon

It’s a small trade off for me losing 3.5w and gain the ability to drip more at one sitting.

I lowered the coils and moved them closer to the AF and it’s working for me.

Not a bad rda truly, but I did make fun of District F5ve on their Instagram about it being filthy

@~Don~ makes some good points in relation to voltage drop in rda's. It does make a significant difference. The hardest hitting rda that I own is the Kali V2.

I hate bashing on RDAs that others like, but I’d hate for someone else to go and get the NEW-New item and not get some user read voltage feedback.

A lot of people say which RDAs are nice, but only give anecdotal feedback, I don’t care if I step on a manufacturers ego thinking they have the best shit...if I slap my dmm on it and it reads like shit, it’s shit.

I like the Kali, the master kit and price point is well... on point. I’ll probably grab that and a Vindicator next, test both against my Overlord and Goon...buy new batteries for the new mod and give my feedback.

Should I care as much as I do about what many feel is insignificant or a minor detail? Damn skippy, tells me who is real when it comes to similar interests and not the guy who slaps a “built by Honda” sticker on the lower panel of their civic thinking they’re cool

So much of what we each enjoy is subjective, voltage drop isn't.

Do you ever watch this guy? I like how in this review he calls out the company for the paint everywhere and asks how are you supposed to get good conductivity with this? I've also seen him do voltage tests, just wish he'd review more rda's.

Yeah I like Daniels videos, I was going to send a few items to him before to test, specifically the Pico Squeeze so he can show the voltage readings from that cheap lil mod and out many high end full mechs and mosfet mods to shame.

This was when he still lived in Brazil was it?? The shipping was crazy...but now that he’s in Michigan I might send it lol

The pico when I used it for a sub $30 jobber hit harder, more consistently than mods costing nearly $400...

My true intent was to slam this modder on Facebook for his overpriced shit mod put him in his place...I still have the funny chat with me showing the voltage loss of his mod and he was in total denial...I was like, look goober...the reading doesn’t lie, you’re shit hits like a wet noodle my $26 pico performs better

I thought of you while watching Bogan's latest review on the Hammerhand 21700 mech. He was using the CSMNT V2 on it and when talking about it being a hybrid he shows the 510 and says make sure it's protruding like this :giggle:

I guess we now know it's ok on a hybrid even though it just barely protrudes

The squonk pin that it comes installed on this RDA protrudes more than the regular 510... I did not trust how little was past the threads... and I used my dvarw which is known to have a shallow 510 on hybrids, this was worse.

Just watched that video lol...

upload_2019-11-9_6-21-44.png

yeah if mine stuck out that far, wouldn't of mentioned anything... but visualize where the edge rolls... that was barely past the threads... the blue line is how much was missing on mine.

Still mucking about with the RDA though... at this point the only thing I dislike is how loud it is based on the way I draw... Probably when I rewick today, I'll adjust the coil height again, see if that remedies it some.

Did buy a Squid DBv3 last night for $32 shipped... going to utilize that mod with the Terk V-shit RDA... might buy another DB3 since they are cheap.

Funny... saw the WTB post, then the link to MFS... used the 10% off code and badabing...just wont see it til Thursday next week since Monday is Veterans Day

Terk shit rda :giggle:

That's really cheap shipped for the dbv3!

Either way you were smart to add those washers, can't be too safe.

Glad it's working for you even though it's a work in progress, I honestly wouldn't have been bothered had you said it was shit. I never claimed the CSMNT V2 was the greatest thing, I was a fan of the original and was happy they made such a big juice capacity in the well with the barrel on this time. I have much better rda's than that one, but do like it.

That’s the great thing about it all... some are blind followers and believe mods or atomizers are gifts from the makers. I tell how it is for my style of vaping and show voltage...sort of why when I saw the db3 for so cheap...first thought was the Terk...which wasn’t a bad vape...just a weak one on mech.

Another thing that helped my decision buying the cosmo was that Mooch uses the original in his mech voltage tests for the original had very little loss...figured since the atty is basically the same...it should perform similarly....probably look to get the original and test between the two...

I’ll grab a Ruby 21 soon...when Kennedy does their yearly sales...now if they do a Ruby 28...but that drip tip though...910 lol
