Today I disassembled and took the rest of the paint off my Alien and polished it up some. I didn't do that great of a job on it, mostly because I'm not sure if I want to repaint it or not. I know Smok doesn't get a whole lot of love, as they probably shouldn't with their shitty QA, but my Alien has never let me down so I showed it some love. I also mixed my first batch of juice today, I want to try it so bad but I think I'm going to give it a few days to steep. I'm not sure how you guys fight the urge to sample as soon as it's mixed, it's been a few hours since I finished it and it's been calling my name ever since I put it in the room.

I usually don't fight it.

It's not a bad thing to know how your mixes change over time. The only way to do that is to taste them!

There ya go. Validation!

When I first read this, I misunderstood what you meant, but then went back and read what you were replying to, so now I get it. I don't typically "steep" on purpose, though my usual process, in the last few months, is that I make 90ml at a time (using a 100ml bottle so I have plenty of room to shake it well), and as I use it, I pour it into a 60ml bottle; when that 60ml bottle gets down to about half-full, I mix a fresh 90ml... so it does end up "steeping" maybe 5-6-ish days. The steeping is less important that simply not running out nor even getting close, because that would be stressful. (PANIC!) :D

But what I first thought you meant... to know how a given eliquid flavor evolves over the entire time you like that flavor... that's really important to me, since my strawberry & cream is really the only thing i ever vape, with a VERY few brief "vacations" into this or that recipe that strikes my fancy -- the only one I can think of offhand that I enjoyed anytime recently (maybe 2017?) was @Mykreign's Red, White, & Blueberry -- that's a really nice "light" vape, if I get jaded on the heavy custardy flavor of my usual S&C. But I've kept running tallies, in a Google spreadsheet, of how I've gradually reduced the flavoring in that S&C, ever since I started mixing it in December 2014. It started at 31.5% -- I was an adherent of the "high flavor mixing" that was discussed at great and tedious length in the TFA thread at ECF, and it really worked for me, since I've remained a very low wattage vaper since I started (back when there was nothing at all unusual about vaping at 10w!). It's now down to 21.5% -- down a full 10 percentage points. And it's just as good now, since my tastebuds work a bit better now after 5+ yrs of not smoking. :)

As for what I did today, vape-related... I shot down as much bullshit and stupid lies about vaping as possible at Quora, and invited any of those vapers whose states/localities are being evil asshats about flavors or any other aspect of vaping to c'mon over here where the vaping is fine and so is the community support. So if y'all see any newbies wandering in, be your usual wonderful selves. :D

I've been playing around with my latest mod, got the drag2 on sale. My feelings are kind of mixed on it. I'm not unhappy with it but after the hype for the original maybe underwhelmed? I remember all the articles about ooh is the gene chip the next dna killer? Let me just say - ahem, no. Not hardly. If I had to compare the gene chip in the drag2 to something else, I'd say it's about on par with the smok alien.

The mod looks decent, it works. For $20 shipped I'm happy, had I paid $45+ for it I'd have been pissed. Button rattle like crazy, battery door I guess holds on. If it slid around anymore I'd think it was a voopoo too with the slip slide doors. Features? No idea if the fit mode works, I think it's only for their tank/coils that came with it as a kit. It runs in wattage. No voltage option, no puff counter, basic bitch screen (good or bad). Kind of a funky menu system. Temp control so far has been a joke, hits weak as fuck and changing the tcr seems to have no effect at all. So far the istick tc100w, vaporesso revenger, ipv eclipse and vandy swell all outperform it in tc.

I double checked, reset the resistance, set it at room temp, tried adjusting tcr from 1300 for ss (default) in increments from 1200-1600. Clicked 4x and adjusted the wattage in tc mode, doesn't matter. Put it this way, I usually vape around 290-310F. 350f is getting uncomfortably warm for me. I have this turd at 477F/80w (on coils that typically run 60-65w) and it fires like it's around 45w for a power comparison.

So it looks ok, it was cheap, it's a wattage mod. Aka, basic bitch device. Doesn't fire any faster in terms of anything noticeable vs the swell, ipv eclipse or vaporesso revenger. It's fine, it works and for the price it'll be fine for a power mod or backup. Definitely unimpressed. They say it's been 15mo in r&d? Shoulda saved their time. lol.

30 bucks shipped from @tallpines means 2 days to you. 24.92 plus shipping from FT means 3 weeks to you. Thats an easy 1...his is probably in better condition. Lol

I agree... I was not impressed at all when I got mine, and unfortunately I paid a little over $50 for mine as a kit. First thing I noticed right out of the box was a loose battery cover... Same experience with the TC... power mode ok though. I put it up on the shelf with the rest of my Drags, after running one bottle of juice through the tank and that's where it's been ever since.

Having no og drag to compare it to I'm assuming aside from the fit modes it's essentially the same chip. I know features are listed, it's not that. Just all the outrageous hype it received by so many. Makes me wonder why it was being hyped, from multiple sources not just vapers. With all the exposure they had to prior mods that functioned/performed as well or better it seems odd for them to tout the gene chip and regard it so high as to even insinuate it would be on par with a dna.

Full disclosure I've never used a dna either, but if dna are generally considered top of the line up there with dicodes or others, even over yihi a lot of times. Well I've used a yihi, so I have an idea how it performs. Pretty well. So does the omni from the revenger. The gene chip though? Seeing nothing special at all and I don't feel it's ragging on it. I was legit expecting more given the rage about it. Less of a dna killer, more of a kanger cousin.

Just my two cents, the chip in the Drag 2 does not perform as well as the Gene chip in the Voopoo VMate. Dunno wtf they did, but that is my observation. The VMate in my mind is under-rated, should have received some of the praise that was being heaped on these Drag models.

Got some more single flavor testers mixed up, a handful of banana flavorings. Trying to find that mild unobtrusive banana I know exists out there somewhere. lol
Flavorconcentrates.com banana flavoring. Needs some steep but authentic banana flavoring not candy. And it is all natural so you will have to use more than with artificial flavorings.
