So I've been avoiding this thread thinking it would make my shinyitus worse but since I'm almost broke this thread seems safe. I wonder if someone can help me out. I'm looking for a cheap (read inexpensive) mech squonk. I don't have a lot of nic stored up and I have a bunch of vw mods in my closet so I think I have enough gear to last through the nic but then what? So I decided I need a mech and since I'm comfortable with squonks I figured I'd look for one of them but I'm lost. Someone please help me.
Look for a Hugo squeezer. Can be found for under $30 and a really good mod.

GV Athena kit in black is still available at ivapesupply for $19.50. I think flat rate shipping for it would be $5.00. There's possibly another 10% off going on with that since it's on Clearance, but I'm not entirely sure.

I've bought two of the Athena kits from them and like them a lot. Took the Athena RDA and put it on something else because I found that an Elder Dragon is the cat's pajamas on the Athena mod.

Takes a single 18650, lightweight metal construction (probably aluminum), switch and 510 are good, has an easy-to-operate locking switch so you can keep it from firing.

Looks fully mechanical to me - I see no wires or chips on the inside. Very simply constructed, so could more than likely be repaired if the worst should happen.

Does come with a plastic bottle, not silicone, so a silicone bottle would be an improvement. There is a restriction on how tall the bottle can be.

Actually VapeNW has a few different squonkers on clearance, too. Coilart Azeroth is $17.99, Wotofo Nudge is $13.99 (I don't like this mod, personally, but ymmv), Wotofo Stentorian Ram is $9.99 (love these), GV Feedlink kit is $16.99, Wismec Luxotic BF in black honeycomb (I ordered this and love it, but it is semi-regulated) is $5.99. Some good choices there, just depends on what you want. The Azeroth takes up to a 21700 battery. I think all the others are 18650 only.

This week I should be getting a mech tube and 2 RDA's in the mail. Gotta work on getting some more cash together because there are some huge deals going on in the Hardware section right now.

Decided I needed to go ahead with my gift certificates from Fasttech. Was torn on what to really get, but I ended up getting replacement glass for some of the tanks I have. I have my go-to rtas and back ups of those, so thought it might be the smartest choice, for now. No idea what we're gonna be able to get in the future.

This is just sad, and pretty bullshit.

i am doing the same thing. but i have a feeling that there is going to be some AWESOME sales coming up.

Kinda like if right before prohibition in the 30’s, store owners had run huge sales on alcohol. I am stunned that we’re being hit so hard over blatant lies. It’s mind blowing!!

After nearly making some panic purchases a couple days ago I've decided to keep calm and take a more reasoned approach. I'm narrowing it down to a short list of a few things I absolutely want, and I'll make my purchases when I'm damned good and ready.

I've placed probably five orders over the last few days, getting replacement glass, some extra RDAs, battery wraps, an RBA I should have already bought, another tube mech, a stick kit for my daughter, a pod unit, and (this wasn't panic induced) a Topside Dual.

I am a little afraid that our sources will dry up, or at least become so limited that prices will go up and we'll have many fewer choices.

My approach has been slow and steady for a few years now. I've amassed more than I'll ever need. A LOT of it from clearance sections and sales. I've just been doing the same these days. Scouting around for stuff I know I'd like or could use more of. If it's a low price, I have an easier time justifying my purchases.

Parts is what I started doing also, a little over a year ago

Keeping what you have going is better in a crisis IMO

My very last vape purchase was for REO parts, as they were shutting down last month :(

I don't buy much gear anymore, but recently IN'AX came out with their version 5 and I have to say it is a piece of kit I wouldn't mind owning.

No, kidding it is steep , but these days I spend so little on gear, that this would be the only piece of gear I would buy this year..so 200 dollars for a yearly vape budget is pretty small.

its is. so, what do you see in that ? it does look cool.

IN'AX is one of the very best genisis atomizer designers around they've been building gennys for years, and the reputation they have for delivering great flavor is well known..what makes this version of the IN'AX different is a couple of things..they have a ceramic coated center post that cuts down on the mesh wick getting shorts, and they have changed the design so that you can build a much thicker mesh wick.which means you can vape it at higher watts and there's less chance of dry hits.

I’m having a shinyitus moment(besides flavors....that doesn’t count). Tinker 2? Anyone have one? It seems pretty solid looking. Any reason I shouldn’t?

I have the first one with three batteries. It's been reliable, no problems with it ever. Wismec's thing lately has been- lets see how compact we can make this. The Tinker is really short and compact, same for the Gen 3 Dual. The Tinker 2 looks nice. I haven't checked it out though.

Hey Gypsy. Not around as much, getting burned out on the fda crap honestly. Then today find out the government is presenting a bill to raise the taxes on our nic up to same level as smokes. I can't order my last batch for the stash for 3 more weeks. Just too depressing.

Don't despair, prepare! I doubt anything significant is going to take place w/in the next three weeks. You'll probably have time.

I don't know what nic level you're used to, but the other thing you could do, if it's a higher level, is start backing if off to reduce the amount needed to achieve satisfaction. Assuming you're mixing your own, that'll make whatever nic you store last longer.

E.g.: I quit smoking over nine years ago. I vaped three years ago, and recently started again. Not because I needed it, so much as I enjoy vaping. Both times, then and now, 3mg could/can give me a nic buzz--that's how little it can take. I don't even really need the nic, any more, but I do find it improves my alertness, so I like to have it.

What will take a serious hit is Vaping As A Hobby if the Deeming Rule gets enforced. New hardware will dry up. Packaged coils will become a problem . But, if you can build your own: An RTA/RDA can last forever. Coils can last a long time and a little wire can go a long way. So can cotton. A quality mod can last a long time, too. My over-three-year-old eVic-VTC Mini is still going strong. (Though, admittedly, it saw no use in the intervening three years.) A well-made mech mod, taken care of, should last literally forever.

Depression, for most people, is a state of mind. Shake it off :)

It's kind of wearing on me also. I suspect many are in the same boat.

No doubt it's wearing on all of us, I know I think about it all the time and it does exhaust you. I gotta stick around here, though. I don't feel like I'd smoke, but I really don't KNOW that I wouldn't. Sticking around reading anything at all helps me stay right minded, if that makes sense. Plus, I stay informed, as sad as it can make me, but at least I'm not alone in that.

Stay @Letitia9 . We need you doll.

I'm not going anywhere Huck. Just ordered a qp gata clone rta from ft. Preorder so a nice surprise in a few weeks. Rossum did ease my mind breaking down the time frame how the nic tax bills will move through Congress. Senate has a similar bill in committee and house committee has moved theirs to the house for a vote. Seems we have some breathing space. Do feel bad for those who simply can't afford to amass a lifetime supply of nic or gear.
