E-cigarette Tax Parity Act

Sorry if already posted but I had seen nothing on this.

The E-cigarette Tax Parity Act would expand the definition of taxable tobacco products to include e-cigarettes and other alternative nicotine products. The bill would establish an excise tax on alternative nicotine products at a rate equal to the federal cigarette tax, equivalent to $1.01 per pack of 20 cigarettes. The tax on such products would be calculated on a per-milligram of nicotine basis because the nicotine content and delivery method of alternative nicotine products vary significantly.

I kinda expect by this time next year that freebase nic will be restricted to licensed tobacco manufacturers and such.
Easier to collect the taxes that way if this passes.

from what little I can figure out so far I think the tax is on the freebase nic not the finished product ie juice. Of course the tax is passed on in the finished products price.

will raise the price on high nic Juul pods.

I think I should be set for a while. I usually buy 500ml of 99.5% pure 1000mg/ml nicotine and dilute it down myself. Top shelf is what is left from 2017 tax return and middle is from 2018 tax return. I used to mix juice for a bunch of locals, but with all the propaganda in the news lately, I've decided to slow down on that for a while.

Seems like an extra $50.33 per 1 L of 100 mg juice. That would mean a regular 1 L of 18 mg VG juice I buy would jump to over $90 - $100. Pretty rough. Not sure it could still be afforded. Might try to afford it, no guarantee of that though. No guarantee of it even now when it is only $40 - $50 for a 1 L bottle.

So then, as I figured an increase to $90 - $100 all shipping due for 1 L instead of $40 - $50.

All this news makes me wish I wasn’t a noob. I wish I would’ve dived into the vaping world sooner and learned how to make my own juices and whatnot. I don’t even have the funds to start! (Stupid car engine blowing) Anyway, thanks for the updates! I’m not happy seeing where all this is going

If my memory is correct you run 6mg juice. Spend 100$ on 2 liters of 100mg per ml nic. Your set for years

Sadly I don’t even have $100 TO spend. My family and I hit hard times. I was hospitalized for a month and my husband couldn’t keep up with the household to himself, we lost our apartment and everything in it. We had to move in with our in laws. My oldest son had to move in with his dad while we took our son with us to my in laws. Then a rod speared through our car and cost us $500. And only a month later our engine blew. We’re hurting bad.

I sell my paintings and artwork to obtain a hundred dollars or more here and there but it’s all been going to the car and saving up for our own place again.

I think I’ll just have to suck it up with my recent sell and use the money to stock up and just make my own juices. It’d be a lot smarter to go that way rather than doing what I’m doing. But you all are so helpful that I know I can get plenty of help.

Plenty of help here. You will b great at diy. All it takes is the desire to do it putting in the time to learn. Compare it to being s parent. Diy is simple.

I don't mind sharing... I was buying my 99.5% pure (1000mg/ml) nicotine from E-cig.com and diluting it down myself. However, E-cig.com has stopped selling freebase nicotine recently, but there are other places to get it.

I’m definitely going to start diy sooner rather than later! This woman is putting payments down on a painting she bought from me and I’ll be getting her last payment next week. I’ll use that money to get the supplies to start. @Jimi gave me a shopping list to start to make my own juices and he made me a minty menthol that I love so I’ll steal his recipe for it (sorry Jimi, love you!).

And thank you. I know we’ll eventually get out of this, it’s just been hell since February of this year! And now birthdays are coming up: Nov 10th, little mans 2nd bday, Nov. 11th, my birthday, and Nov. 13th my oldest. Then Christmas!! Best time for me to start diy is now I assume lol

I wasnt recomending 1000mg for any beginners. Lol. I have a freezer space issue. So 4 me its a.plus and keeps the wife happier. I am a prepper from vape to my 2nd amendment.

I went and bought a mini freezer exclusively for nicotine and other DIY liquids, just to keep my kids from accidental exposure to the concentrated nicotine. I keep a lock on the freezer for good measure.

I have a brother in law that kept stealing my juices and coils. I had a shelf in the dining room where I kept my vape stuff. I had to move it all to my room and hide it in my underwear drawer. :wait:

if the wrong people find out abut that, it will "grow legs". you best take measures.

i just got a 1ltr of 250mg. probably enough for the rest of my life. the problem with storing nic =who knows if it will last 10-15-20 years.

To extend the shelf life of my nicotine I either use Argon or wine preserver to remove oxygen from the bottle to help prevent oxidation.
