Purge clone: story of saving my balls

The long(ish) story of how my purge clone, saved my nuts, literally.

I started vaping after I got home from Iraq. Decided it was in my best interest to get off the stinkies and get back to my in shape self. I vaped for about a year before I got into mechanical mods. Loved the crap out of how they worked. Bought my first mech tube about 2 months before I left for Afghanistan. Purge skull of clone

Fast forward 6 months. Vaping like crazy, having my mom send me juice, batteries, etc in the mail constantly. Well online day we are out on patrol. Normal day driving through the Kandahar mountains, when a rkg (Russian grenade that shoots a melted copper plug through literally everything) hits the side of our truck directly behind the passenger seat, being the gunner directly in front of my legs. Blows a hole through the truck getting some shrapnel in my leg, nothing major. We go through the routine and get towed home.

Heres where it gets fun. As I'm getting patched up, the doc cutting my pants off (awkward, was a very good looking female), she pulls my mod out of my pocket. Points at a melted hole in my pants/pocket. Asks me what it is and asks me how I was standing. Turns out a small piece of metal shrapnel got stopped by hitting my purge clone, and would have gone straight through my nuts. The shrapnel was still in my pocket and a dent in my mod.

May look small. But, imagine a molten hot bb from a bb gun, being shot into your no no area... (it's been refinished, I will cherish this thing forever)20191015_184904.jpg 20191015_184920-0.jpg

Not a hero but thank you! Just following in my parents/grandparents/great grandparents/etc. footsteps. Thought people here would enjoy it. Definitely one mod I will never get rid of

What a great story! That mod is now a cherished memento. I'd look into having it custom finished in such a way at to highlight the shrapnel mark. I also like how you tell the story so nonchalantly while those of us who've never served and sit here on the sidelines are reading it with Holy shit expressions. Thank you for you service. I'm a little more proud to have done business with you now.
