I really dont recall anything; but, I only learned enough diy to make what I like, without going quite as far down the rabbit hole as I did with hardware.

Cuious to see what gypsie says.

Outside of the THC bits, I recall there were some flavourings to steer clear of when I first started mixing (not diacetyl ones) but some were oil based? have I remembered wrong on that?

@wildgypsy70 do you know of any? should we list them somewhere if they exist?
nope you didn't remember wrong....when DIY started out, alot of people considered using "natural" flavorings because of the quality of their flavor, but alot of the "natural" flavorings were based on extracted essential oils of plants and spices. It was pretty quickly pointed out to people that vaping essintial oils was dangerous, and it is why we vapers don't use essintial oils in our DIY...for instance I make a licorice toffee, the first time I made it I used anise flavorings, and the results were a weak flavor and pretty banal product...the nest time I made them I used the essential oils of anise in the candy and the flavor was stellar...eating alot of essintial oils is no problem...vaping them is a problem. I love using anise flavorings in E-juice, I don't use the essintial oil of anise though in making my juice.

I recall reading that some of Lorann's brand flavorings are oil-based. The only Lorann flavor I use is cream cheese icing, and it is not oil, but any others should be checked and checked again.

I did not realize this before, but it seems there are a few.

They make a Lime essential oil, which is different from the Key Lime Pie flavor, which shows no ingredients beyond PG and natural/artificial flavors. There is a Key Lime flavor also that shows Vitamin E as an ingredient. Also Ripe Banana they state is not as water-soluble as their other flavors. Now that I know that, I won't use Ripe Banana any more. These are all the oils I see on TFA's website.

It appears that checking the manufacturer's website for product ingredients is a great idea.

I was surprised also to see that many of their flavors contain alcohol, so if you mix with them, in addition to steeping, letting the e-liquid breathe after mixing might be a good idea too.
