New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has issued an emergency executive order to ban the sales of flavored e-cigarettes in an effort to crack down on sales to minors.

The order is Cuomo's next move on vaping after he announced his plan on Monday to ban flavored e-cigarettes amid growing national health concerns about vaping.

State officials will also ramp up efforts to penalize retailers who sell tobacco and e-cigarettes to minors.

According to data from the New York State Department of Health, nearly 40% of 12th grade high school students and 27% of high school students overall "are not using e-cigarettes," according to a press release.

Cuomo is raising the age to buy tobacco to 21 in November. So kids getting a hold of cigarettes , no problems with that.
Of course Alcohol remains on the market as well. I guess kids aren't attracted to the many different flavored alcohols for sale either???

Why would kids want flavored drinks?? Or tobacco, for that matter? Man, I’m hating Cuomo right now.
I’m hoping they push it off, but I think it’s for November.

Yep.

Honestly? From the first time I ever read up on CASAA I had no confidence in their ability to make any difference whatsoever. Even if they'd tried. I never joined or contributed for that reason and I'm not sorry I didn't.

Forget the politicians. They have their whetted finger in the air at all times, attuned to the winds of public opinion. Changing the opinion of the public is and always has been the only thing that might make a difference.

@PoppaVic is right. But what's actually true doesn't mean a thing in 21st century America.

especially when the news agencies in the english speaking world is controlled by only a handful of giant monopoly companies.

you can forget about so called journalists reporting anything that goes against either the government or other corporate sponsors.

now you know why the government in the mid 90s allowed for the comeback of big mergers and monopolies.

im gonna say something really controversial.

did you know so many high schoolers vape now?
these are some of the things the kids say these past couple of years.
"its cuul to juul in schuul"
or
"why are there toilets in the juul room?"
they actually call their high school bathrooms, "the juul room"
everyone vapes now in high school.

if instead, of "protecting the children"........if instead of protecting the oh so precious and delicate kids in H.S., which, to be honest, arent really babies to be babying them...and we actually galvanized them to vote for their own vaping interests the second they turn 18 and rightful voting age.

we would win this war. no contest.
we are literally, refusing to use our biggest and best soldiers, for silly self righteous reasons.
think.
of every high school senior across the country going to vote against prohibition, the minute they turn 18.
adding to our 21+ age numbers.
think.
every year. a new crop of voters spring up from these high schools where EVERYONE vapes.
every year, new soldiers, added to our numbers.
you'd be foolish not to get these kids to vote the old oligarchs out of office.

if vapers, the vaping community was smart, we'd be doing everything possible to convince these kids, in every high school, not to vote for our interests, but their vaping interests. since theyre already vaping anyway.
you'd be stupid not to use them.

but i'm sure my idea will get shot down, i'll get banned for being politically incorrect, controversial, etc etc blah blah...
high schoolers wont get galvanized and mobilized...
and then vaping gets banned or regulated till its black market.
