To answer that question, need to know which mod you are using, and what the ohms reading is for the coils you are using. How many watts?

well what I am at present using is a BIGBOX mini 80W
can use 40W or 65W or 80W
I tend to keep it at 40W

so I am asking about perhaps a BETTER battery.
thus wire/ coil can still be decided

so what in your opinion is a Safe yet long lasting battery to invest in.

no i will not just press buy now.. at present I just want to look into it all an see if it would be worth the investment.

Nadalama was correct though, the kind of battery you need should be decided by what your coils are going to ask it to do ;)

Looks to me like the BigBox Mini has a 2200mAh built-in battery. So what you would need is not a different battery but a different mod.

Not all mods have built-in batteries, so generally we'd refer to that as a mod. So you need a new mod.

First point, if you get a mod that has removable batteries, then if something goes wrong with a battery, you don't have to replace the whole thing. For the RTA that you are using, for the requirements of dual coils, I would suggest that you get a mod that uses two 18650 or 20700/21700 batteries. This will mean that you don't have to recharge your batteries so often.

Beyond that, we can make brand recommendations, but everyone has different tastes, so within a good, reliable brand, just choose what appeals to you.

My favorite mod brands are Geekvape, Voopoo, Smoant, and Asmodus. An Asmodus Lustro might be a very good choice for you. Take a look at VaporRange.com, they have the best prices, and also now have a 20% off coupon code JULYTHE4TH, and also free shipping.

For that mod you would need two 18650 batteries .The best ones I know of are Samsung 20S. Eventually you will want to have at least two sets of batteries, two batteries in each set. Always use the same two batteries together and charge them together.

You'll also need an external charger, one of the "smart" ones that will stop charging when batteries are fully charged . Nitecore Intellichargers are good.

The one drawback I see to the Lustro is that it has a touch screen. I am not sure I would like that, but you might. If not, you might take a look at the Voopoo VMate 200W that is on sale at Breazy.com for$23.99. I have had one for about six months, like it very much . It's a good size, has worked flawlessly, and I just like the way it looks . Also takes two 18650 batteries.

@DaBunny I tend to concur with @nadalama - However..
  1. I've done Geekvape - and won't do it again.
  2. VooPoo are on my shitlist for at least 2 reasons, so I don't.
  3. Smoant has some really good reviews - you checked those reviews, right?
  4. Asmodus - well, my canadian buddy still has one to send me - all reviews (as well as his) say they have a great board, but the 3/3s is not... "perfected". The touchscreens seem to cause reviewers to hold back enthusiasm.
  5. I've an SXmini M-class and a pair of DNA200 (Vt133) - all used. I can recommend these products just for "they just plain work".
  6. @MrMeowgi has two very lightly used Yihi devices for under $40 each - and even if they are a little underclocked, they are still pretty well reviewed. (Most reviewers make comments that simply make me think YiHi slowed them down with a cheaper clock-chip). Both are dual-cell mods.
Given #6, I'd start there - VU and our "users" are pretty damned good about quick-ship.
Asmodus is an investment. Smoant edges toward disposable.

Actually just traded both those Yihi mods for a Rig tube mod this weekend to another member here. But thanks for keeping me in mind. Vu hardware thread is definitely a great place to check before buying new.

well, damn.. Yeah, I always prefer to check here first - sane people charge less than the B&M;s - and chinee ships via carp-powered sampan.

the Hohm stuff is supposed yo be quite good.

Every once in awhile I get the itch for the PWM mods, but I loathe the boxes. I guess I just wait until my SXK "Boxer" clone dies and stuff a cheap PWM board in it.
