Formal Hello to All

I haven't formally introduced myself here yet so here goes. I'm psom0ne, from Atlanta originally and live in Paris now. Presently here to take care of my elderly mother and spend the holidays with her, help whip her place back into shape, and take a break from the city (I'm in a small town now, not ATL, but in Georgia). I'm pretty new to vaping. Perhaps 7 months? But I love it. I'm grateful that I have it as an option and am all-in on doing what I can to promote responsible usage, battling the big-money interests who are striving to stamp it out here, and sharing tips, learning, and getting people's opinions on flavors etc. Glad to be here.

Welcome to the forum:wave:

What kind of vaping devices do you prefer?

I mostly use RTA's with regulated box mods with 3mg/ml nicotine
but I do have a pair of pod devices that use high nicotine eliquid for when i'm in a public setting.

Well I'm still learning and that's one of the reasons I'm so happy to be here, but right now I'm using a Smok Priv n19 which, for its size and the fact it's considered a starter kit, still packs a nice little punch. I hover around 12% nic (I prefer salt) but the off-the-shelf choices in Europe are more varied as far as percentage goes. What would you recommend as my next step mod? I need more than one. My very first was a JustFog Q16 and the Smok w/ Nord mesh coils (I like the .6 mesh) is a great next step. But I know that I'm going to want something with more punch soon.

You are using one of these now correct?

You are looking at stepping up from this.
You may want to look for a dual battery mod.

The device you have now has external batteries so you would have to buy a kit or device that has a dual battery mod and also at least one pair of batteries.

It's usually good to get an extra set of batteries and an external charger so that way you can be using a set in the device while you are charging the other set.

When you vape do you inhale the vapor directly into your lungs or into your mouth first then lungs kind of like a cigarette?

Hi - Yep - that's the one I'm using now. I typically draw straight into my lungs these days, letting the vapor roll back across my tongue on the way down to get the most out my flavor. I've also considered getting multiple tanks for different flavors, too. But yeah, it's the next-step mod I'm looking at and what my best options are. Thx.

Hola sir or ma'am. Not sure which pronoun to use as I tend not to lift people's skirts to find out these days. Welcome to VU!

I have multiple setups for the express purpose of having different flavors at the ready as the mood suits. It also doesn't hurt that each one provides a different vape and experience.

Hi - it's a sir, but sir isn't necessary. :) That's the direction I'm heading in. I already know the need to have a backup just in case something goes wrong, but am looking to take the next step. Something with a little more punch. And the dual battery suggestion above is a great idea, too. I have several liquids right now but just one mod, so I basically have to use dedicated coils at the moment. I'm looking for a new mod that's durable and packs a punch. I don't wanna spend an arm and a leg and I'm not advanced enough to start building anything myself. I dunno if I'll ever get to that point. Just something really reliable. Doing a lot of research at the moment and any firsthand advice I can get is welcome.

Hi - it's a sir, but sir isn't necessary.

Sorry I'm southern. It's the way I was raised and so ingrained into me and at almost 50 I don't see it changing.

I started that was also. Then I got a backup for the backup and a backup for that backup and then a back up for all of those and somehow I've come to where I have 17 active setups going, more in storage, and two more mods in the mail to me because I was weak this morning and I don't even come close to some of the numbers that some of our members possess. Not that I'm jealous or anything like that.

That's the direction I'm heading in.
Straight down the rabbit hole. It all started with just one backup.

I don't wanna spend an arm and a leg and I'm not advanced enough to start building anything myself.
Neither did or was I. Luckily there's a ton of coil builders out there who posses much more talent and patience than I and whom I'll gladly give them my money.

Doing a lot of research at the moment
That's really what men call shopping. Doing "research".

Either way welcome to the VU rabbit hole. Dive in there's plenty of room at the deep end.

:) I"m southern too. Georgia. And I know exactly what you mean. Thanks, glad to be here...sir. And about the rabbit hole, I noticed that happening around three weeks after I bought my first mod. First it was the flavors. Then it was "what the hell does X mean?" Then it was "shopping." Or as the French call it, window licking. After I got back to the States, I couldn't find the coils I needed for my first mod, so I bought the one up there above. The Smok. Yeah, it's turned into a kind of obsession. What the hell? Since you're southern, you were probably told a lot about idle hands when you were comin' up, too. Where I live I have a tiny library, a defunct train museum, Fort Mountain, and vaporizers. Purdy much it.

Welcome to VU and the entrance to the Rabbit Hole. As you may have noticed we are not very formal, but very friendly .

Thank you. Yeah, the reason I put formal in the heading was that I'd already posted before introducing myself. Great to be down here in the rabbit hole
—and yet—and yet—it's rather curious, you know, this sort of life! I ain't formal. Happy to be here and kicked back.
