Hey Jimi! Long time no see. Ripped a zillion weeds outta my garden today. The "crop" was still growing behind all the shit, but not as well as I hoped. We'll get something out of it anyway.
Sorry to hear that Rich, mine didn't do hardly squat so I ripped a bunch out and am trying to squeeze a few short run crops in, all that I have planted this time looks great and still planting some.I have over 300 foot of green beans, 75 foot of chard 90 feet of beets some zucchini and radishes in my new crops. Gonna be a cold hungry winter if these don't pan out:gaah:

So you did some weeding today, Rich?

Man it was one hot sob here, I'm not sure what the temp was but watering what's left of my garden at 9 this evening it still felt like about 105+ outside.......

Pulled and cut tons more weeds and carted them off to the burn pile. It is huge now and I haven't even added all those limbs from the dog yard. Too windy to burn yet.

We had thunderstorms and rain about sunrise, then it cleared off, but the high was still only 77. I guess I an getting too old because the garden work still made me sweat too much and I am really achy from all that bending. Oh well....

Yeah, that bending and pulling shit gets old quick......!

Especially when doing it for long periods of time.....

Yeah, especially given all the damage I have already done to this ancient body. I have no doubt that eventually this place will kill me, but I am not willing to give up yet.
Looks like you have some WIND in the forecast the next few days.....I assume it will probably be double what they guessed.
It usually is more than they forecast, but it will at least make things feel cooler while I am out there.

Hard to believe this month is almost shot already.......doesn't it seem time is just flying by?

Sure seems that way to me....christ...we were talking about snow a few weeks ago, now it's almost fall already....Incredible.

One forecast shows 22 mph winds, I've never seen them predict wind speed that high.....it's usually 12-15 and you tell me it's 50.......:teehee:
The really stupid part is that most of these forecasts don't even use the word "wind" until it is above 40 mph. Below that they say "light breeze" or "breezy" (I assume that means a little more wind). They say "windy" for us for they same wind speed that they say "gale force winds" if it is the east coast.

Time is relative. The analogy I like relates to your age. If you are 5 years old, the time between one Christmas and the next is 1/5th of your entire life (a LONG time). But if you are 50, that year is only 1/50th of your life, which is pretty trivial. At 70, now, a year happens before I can blink.

Ain't that the gods honest truth....here I thought it was just me in this time lapse.....:teehee:

Speaking of time moving too fast, the amount of time I get to spend in bed seems to be less and less every day, so I think I'm gonna tuck myself in before Lannie has to shake me awake. Soon, she will be waking me up before I get to sleep. :)

Night night amigo.

I wish you luck with the new plantings. Wish I could send you some of my rain. Have a good soak and a good night. Write again soon.
Have a good one tomorrow, Jimi...!

Hope a second planting works out.....the beans should I would think.

Everything came up and is going strong, my 2 week old beans are at least 12 inches tall or more now, everything is growing much better than it did the first round. Good thing about putting beans in this late is the beetles never find them:cool:.

Welcome to the Late Night Show with Dale and Rich (D&R After Midnight?)
I assume 20% means 110%?
Usually 20% or less means nothing. 30% or more means really wet.

Today started with dense fog (NOT forecast), but that cleared away and we had windy sunshine. Windy, as in 30 to 45 mph all day. I didn't do anything other than routine chores. No, wait, I did something. What was it? Probably something important and heavy and.. uh, what? Oh yeah... I think I took the garbage out. Oh well...

I would not doubt at all that we had a few gusts that hit 50 or more....
It's supposed to be cooler the next few days...I've had about all I can take of this 110+/- shit.

Eli told me it's been in the mid to upper 70's with blue skies (all week & last week).....I'm definitely in the wrong location for August.
