I was shopping in Wiilliamsville NY. 2 weeks ago on a Saturday . I figured while my wife went to check out some stuff for the house I'd go and check out the local B&M . I asked the man behind the counter what rda's he had for sale , the inbred imbecile told me that they're no longer being made so they stopped carrying them and they only carried pods and pod systems .. Yes he did !! WE NEED TO STOP THIS PEOPLE .. They are giving the industry and all of us a bad name . I gracefully thanked him and walked out . Any ideas why these people get jobs at vape shops ?? Go be a security guard at Target or a construction site . Just take your ill informed , inbred carcass out of the scene . PLEASE LEAVE !!!

A noticeable percentage of Vape Shops are run and staffed by imbeciles.
Vape shops by and large make no effort to educate customers about the impending vape apocalypse.
Some good ones out there, but many do not deserve to stay in business.

Many if the B&Ms are only in it for the cash grab.
Some of the older ones that have been around since the beginning are in it for the right reasons. But a vast majority are just chronically stupid and in it for the easy cash.
It’s easy to tell the difference though

I stopped in at my very first vape store from my early days, a couple weeks ago for anything made with nic salt to test in my sub ohm set up before buying a bunch of nic salt.... Anyway I have stopped by every few months to see mods & attys in person before buying .. this store always had a rather large menu to read for ejuice. Not now,, I don't think they even make ejuice any more. Some of the gear was older generation,,, lots of pods and coils for pods. So I asked for bakery nic salt ejuice,,, turns out this millennial thinks mango is a bakery flavor. (no) thanks,, went to another store got something cake.... I finally ordered some nic salt today from nicotine river.

The people that work at these B&M’s are the same that work the drive-thru at McDonald’s. Basically minimum wage youngsters who, if they don’t vape, are oblivious to the vape world. I’m sure they are trained for a day and the majority of that is how to work the register and how to card customers. I just wish they would say “I don’t know” and get their boss or another vape experienced employee. If they have neither of those then ya they should be shutdown although I’m sure they would just shutdown on their own due to gross negligence. I can’t imagine customers would want to expose themselves to that level of stupidity more than once. But what do I know, I’ve never stepped foot inside of a B&M.

Just for the edification, you should drop in on a few. Try something simple like:
  • Do you carry Kanthal? Ni80?
  • Do you have a replacement glass/pyrex?
  • Would you happen to have any grub-screws?
Basically, they want to sell you whatever nasty, high-dollar juice is messing with inventory, coilheads to things you won't own, and mods - and yes, all overpriced.

if you really want to confuse the fuck out of them...ask them for some #400 stainless steel mesh....I've been in B&M where the owner has never actually seen a genisis atomizer in real life.

I still have a sheet; last I looked the only place to order from was the UK. (It works in genny's, french-presses and all sorta' thingdoodles ;-)
there's a few places you can buy mesh in the US, but yeah I buy mine from Britian, for the most part ....sometimes the Ukraine for specialty meshes....Europe and russia are alot more into gennys.

I haven't stepped foot inside a B&M so far in 2019. Each time I've had a notion to go I've talked myself out of it. The one closest my my house isn't too bad. Most times the kids they hire have some clue. I've not heard them give a customer bad or wrong advice.

I can see it now: Do you carry Kanthal? Ni80? “Smok makes a mod that has all the same features as those two, but it’s much better. Here let me show you it”

Do you have a replacement glass/pyrex? “Your in the wrong store for that stuff.” “We are a vape shop, you may want to try Lowe’s or Home Depot.”

Would you happen to have any grub-screws? “Dude this is a vape shop, we only carry vaping gear, you need a hardware store.” As I walk out the door he tells his co-worker how stupid I am, looking for construction materials at a vape shop. “That customer was a moron” as the two vape shop employees have a good laugh at my incompetence.

So this is apparently the kind of stupid ass vape shop where the mother bought the mech that exploded for her son! The employee knew as much as the non vaping mom!

By selling pods only, these places are trying to be proactive with Deeming, and bringing down the vaping community, to boot.

I think you people are being rough on those people. they are not being paid to know much of anything.
my job, if I was being paid what they are, I wouldn't "remember" much either. and I wouldn't care to learn what I didn't know.
my shops, well, the ones around here, some are pretty good. others, they are nothing more than a store.

No pods approved yet either.
But in my opinion only sealed systems with built in batteries will be approved. And I expect a max nic level of around 18 mg too.

I hear you, but on the other hand, if you're gonna do anything do it well, there are no small jobs just lazy fucks. If you're stuck in a vape shop for 8 hours a day...why not occupy your time learning something.

Those are great! Really funny, thanks!

How are you doing, btw? I hope you’re well on the way to being fully recovered after your hospital stay.

I never was hospitalized excepting only when I was born so I think you're confusing me with someone else. :p

But... if you work in a vape shop you can always learn to perfect your own DIY alien coil building skills whilst customers are waiting patiently in line to buy the latest greatest pod system that they can't get anywhere else from.

My local b&m is totally messed up. They know nothing and literally endanger uneducated vapers lives. Like most they pretty much only sell garbage. They get none of my vape $.

while I do agree with that. everyone has their limitations. wanting, and even trying, to do something, doesn't mean you can do it.
ask me how I know this.

sister just sold a house in Brighton , CO.
Yeah we missed out on 2 we were ready to make an offer on by 2 days. We looked at houses, more houses in CS & Fountain. We looked at Mountain top property 1.5 hours up the hill,,, no cell service,, no ambulance service you have to use a helicopter. We got to the top on a road even a farmer wouldn't like to find an actual guard shack lol. Decided it was a little too isolated (imagine building a house there and the directions you have to give the 18 wheeler driver to bring in the supplies). Coming back down was rather nerve racking without snow,, lack of guard rails. In winter you're just stuck for the most part.

I loved my Motorola Star Tack but times change and my Cell Provider doesn't even support phones from 10 years ago. And I dreaded the day I had to retire my Blackberry but now I am going to get in my vehicle which will automatically connect to my Pixel v2XL and I will turn on iHeart Radio and listen to Bluetooth Audio while I drive to the restaurant. If you don't keep up with the times you get left behind.

Heh, I'd be less peeved if they at least had electric scooters.. Ever notice how whateverthehell you need is waaaaaaaay back to the far rear of the barn?
This.. so much this. lol. I don't know what the hell's in the front acre of the store but it's never anything I need. It's always in the back 40. Like stand on one of those rolling sets of stairs with binoculars.

believe it or not, they do that on purpose. going to get "what you need", you walk past all the crap, and they hope you buy that crap, that you "didn't" go there for. .
that's exactly why the milk is always way in the back.

ever wonder how and why stuff is on the shelves were it is, reason for that to.

Yep stores have psychologists and behavioral specialists on their sales and marketing staff.
Same with commercials....

It is the slime oozing from your TV set.

and the Wally Worlds around here have candy in the same aisle as bread.
Impulse buys next to staple foods is the norm.

We're all kind of dust ultimately, anyway. Some of us enjoy being lost too. :)

As to RDAs no longer being made, vape shop employees being fools, ... I get reminded of something a manager in retail taught me once. "Don't expect anything from anyone. Then, when somebody actually does well you can be pleasantly surprised," he told me. We happened to be on the way to what me and him discovered as a somewhat favorite past time working there, dumpster surfing.

The trash pickup company would often "forget" or otherwise not come around to empty our store's dumpster for a week, or month. So, we got wooden pallets and tossed them onto the overflowing dumpster heaps, jumped up and down packing in the garbage. After that we figured we could get another two or three days worth of garbage into the dumpster. We would also feel a nice sense of stress relief after having done that.

I know it may seem my recollection of dumpster surfing doesn't relate to vaping, RDAs still being made, vape shop employees being fools. Where it relates though is in the nature of people as human beings. Last I checked our vaping gear is still inanimate objects requiring us to use to use it. People are people, and more or less could be said, ultimately though you have to realize the hard truths.

Stupidity, ignorance will always exist. Human beings are like that, fallible. We're also capable of getting to the moon and back, if that ain't a kick in the head. You don't get one without the other as fortunate or unfortunate as that might happen to be. A vaping shop employee tells me RDAs are not being made anymore? I smile the smile you as adults give children making mud pies and bringing them to you as you say, "gee, that's nice." I then walk out and from home shop any number of places on the Web & buy any RDA I desire.

The bag phones were the best! So comfortable and 3 watts =-)

I stopped at a vape shop that had at least 20ft of glass cases of mods/tanks/rda's and asked for cotton. The guy replied "no, that's a big deal. There's a whole thing to that" lol

guess what, it is a big deal. most vapers don't want to mess with what can be a hot mess.
