I am, I have a spool of the Vandy Vape mesh. I use it in both the RDA and the RTA and I wick with rayon. I get a fantastic vape with both, .15 ohms I push about 65 watts and set temp anywhere from 400-450 depending on the juice I'm vaping (some flavors I like at a lower temp, some higher) and it's just fantastic.
where did you get it?

I thought so, but I was wrong. My wick was nice and saturated in the beginning so 40w was giving me good flavor. Now i've got it up at like 62.5w and it's perfect.
Yeah, I was wondering about that :)

I also have had the opposite experience. I can get 80 watts out of the ORF mesh in the rta. In the rda I was getting burning in the upper 50s. I can also get away with running the rta on a single or parallel mech. For me at least, that was a no go with the rda.

I still like it better on the regulated mod, but just at a higher wattage. As far as "mech" I use my profile on the recurve squonk with a 21700 and it's perfect.

It's my favorite of the ones that are not my favorites. If that makes any sense :)
Make sense to me, although It is the favorite of my favorites...LOL.
That's a good deal. That's what I paid from Fasttech. I'm really loving it now that I have it wicked properly. It takes a little bit, but it's worth the fiddling.
It is all in the wicking and once you find it , it is EZ....

Try wicking with rayon. Take 3 strips the length of your finger, stack them and clamp down the mesh around the rayon fairly snug. Trim the top two of the strips quite close to the mesh. Trim the lowest to the juice well depth and tuck into the well. Then prime the wick & assemble the atty, fill, and enjoy.

Morning guys,

I need a wee hand with this Unity. I had 2 Profile RDAs and with most of you being in the 'Does everybody but me love the Profile RDA' thread you'll know I tried soooo many different tweaks etc with that and got it nailed.

This one however just isnt hitting the sweet spot for me, its good... but it always seems to be muted flavour and on the verge of a dry hit (but havent actually had one yet). I tried same wicking as the RDA but lifted up a little to hit the higher juice holes... Tried underwicking it but i just got leaking from the airholes everytime I filled up. My main problem however is every single build I have put in, with either the standard Wotofo mesh or the Nexmesh ends up like this after just a couple of days (not even just vaping on this)...

burnt mesh unity.jpg

Weirdly it doesnt tatse that burnt, just because it happened the first time, once Ive emptied a couple of tank fulls I open it to check and its like this...

For cotton i use a strip of Bacon prime divided exactly in half for thickness and do the cut straight at the edge of the deck then 45 degree cut. Vape it around 50-60w on the Nexmesh. think I did try going up to 70w on this build to see if I got better flavour.

It is always to the one side it goes black and this build had a weird bubble blister looking thing but moved it with tweezers before I took the pic.

Any ideas???

Have you added a second spring under the ceramic block?

I have on the RDA, I actually cut a spring from pen thats stronger and used that, but I havent made any hardware change to this Unity yet, just trialling about normally first. I think I tried at one point and there was a bit of it, either the 510 pin or something that was so stuck in i wasnt sure if you could take it out and didnt want to break it...

The screw on top of the unity is a left handed thread, so loosen is clockwise. I have gotten the the same burning at 70W, but I think it is the juice carmalizing as the flavor returns to normal when I lower the the wattage.

Cheers will try that on next build. Still doesnt explain how black its going after just 2-3 tankfuls. Surely it shouldnt be doing that, my RDA version lasts weeks on the same mesh, same cotton, same juice and same wattage as I'm using in this.

I'm having nothing but leaking problems with my Unity. Seems like no matter how much wicking I have in the juice channels, I have serious flooding and leaking, to the point the juice just pours out the airflow holes while filling. Here are picks of my build, any help?

Needs some pom pom balls on each side. Fluff it out, tuck part into the channels, trim a bit but leave a fluffy wick ball on each side. Juice comes through 2 holes on each side as well as channels. Hope this helps...

Not enough cotton on top half of wick. The cotton must dam up the bleed holes on the inside of the dome.

Another strange thing, I got my Unity on here, and it didn't have the 5ml extension kit.

I'm on the NexMesh SS316L, so much better than the VV stuff.

I'm also experimenting with a rayon/cotton combo wick. Rayon wrapped around a cotton core. I'm wondering if the cotton core would expand a little and keep the rayon tight to the mesh, as rayon shrinks when wet. This to prevent hot spots in TC.

Glad you're enjoying it! I'm actually tempted to look for another one on the cheap just for S&G's

ok, I am using it now. I started at low watt, 35, and am up to 45 now, kind of weak. but I am going baby steps.
is the vape aaffeccted by how full the tank is ?

first pic, I worked it a little more, but I don't see getting any more rayon in there than I have. and may have to take some out.

ok, went up to 50w, got some dry hits. went back down to 45, meh. loosened the cap so it could wick = flooded.
I am going to vape it down then remove some wick.

removed some wick that is not under the mesh, same thing. I think I just put to much in there, and/or the second spring is suffocating the wick.

Trim sides so they just touch the chimney. Wick under mesh should depress block but not hold it all the way down....

thanks. that's about how I have it, though it may be a little tight under the mesh. the problem is it just doesn't deliver the juice well enough. if I take the cap off for a few seconds, I an get a few ok hits. and from what I am figuring, this will not make good flavor until 55+watt. so, I am using it down now, then I will rewick. perhaps my rayon is causing an issue, idk.

If it 's too tight it wont flow

well, not any better. and I feel that I wicked it a bit on the light side. so idk wtf
seems to me there is to much of a vacuum in the tank not letting juice flow. I have another tank like this, I have to loosen the cap every several hits.

How much rayon are you using, and how much are you thinning out the tails? Rayon wicks a lot different than cotton, you need super thin tails. This is one of the reasons I made a rayon/cotton hybrid wick.
