I might later on today try building / making up wire for some 26 awg SSL/316 triple core wrapped with some 40 awg NiCh 80. My aim in doing that is to try getting to a physically cool temperature vapor for myself on a .20 to .25 Ω coil. Of course, I might get it with a staged Clapton too. Either way I might be playing with some wire today. The Gorge CopperVape combo is handling .35 Ω well enough but I would still like to get lower Ω but have it be cool to vape.

ETA @ Thu Jul 11 11:09:10 EDT 2019:

Simple can often prove being more suitable than complex. Tried a triple
core 26 awg SSL316 wrapped in 30 awg Kanthal, the 40 awg NiCh was just a
mess for me to work. A 7 wrap at 3 mm ID barely fit into the Gorge RDA
and that read out at around .248 or so which I rounded to .25. Close
enough for government work. It was a serious battery draining beast
though with all the mass.

So I thought, "why not just go 3 warps with 26 awg SSL/316?" Well,
it seems to do what I want. A nice cool vape at around .236, I can
live with that given I was aiming between .20 - .25. Figure though my
batteries will drain out a lot quicker though. That may prove another
reason to stay around .30 - .35. Yes, I'd bitch if my ice cream was too
cold it seems.

From my very limited experience, I just think kanthal is awful. Even small dual core Claptons seem to take forever to get hot.

Have you tried that 26ga SS in parallel? Makes a right nice coil, it does. 4-5 wraps for about 0.35, iirc. Very good flavor as long as you don't taste the stainless. It takes a minute for me, for the stainless taste to go away.

As often as you're breaking that "old" wallet out lately, you're gonna need a new one pretty soon. That one is bound to be transparent! :)
Definitely is worn out. Bought a new one of those too. Some kind of metal doohicky. No more folding action to contend with. Can't slow me down now. :teehee::vapemail:

I might have to give that a go. *goes off to do just that*

Yeah, got one of those aluminum ones too. Kind of acts like a Faraday cage to avoid folks scanning your CCs and such. I've seen where someone registered me up, or at least my name up to get certification for CDLs. Pretty sure not having even a basic driving license I'd really try for CDLs to drive big rigs. No, never a driving license. I'm a safe idiot in that regard. I figure if I lock up behind the steering wheel of a car, somebody going to get hurt. Think I'll save everyone the trouble.

* now goes to try that coil out *

do you gently pulse the SS coil till it glows dull red before using?

I do pulse the coils, maybe get them a little too hot. The taste I'm talking about is very subtle, though.

Ahh I can't taste anything but some new cotton taste with stainless. Perhaps it blends right in with that?
And that is minimal with Cotton Bacon V2.

I'm with you on that one.
I do glow mine by pulsing them and strumming them with ceramic tweezers to get all the hot spots out and get both coils heating from the center out.
I never taste the metal with SS but I do traste cotton for a short time until everything gets broke in.

I ended up back to SS with 4 wraps round 3 mm ID, which puts me to .35 to .40. Found out even doing the best I can at a parallel .20 - .25 the vapor quantity/quality I'm looking for doesn't happen. The vape is cool but not a lot of it. It drains the batteries far too quick too. For me, that trade off isn't worth it. I'm happy at .30 -.45 for now. Now, I could probably do a .20 -.25 well on a series battery mech. Got one here but not keen to use it. It's put up for being too pretty. :)

To me, stainless just tastes like "burnt metal," exactly the way that cinnemaldehyde tastes to me. Nasty!

Maybe it is the combination of stainless and new cotton. Yes, could be that. Whatever it is, it goes away quickly. I do know though that some people pick up tastes from the different metals.

Nichrome 80 is really my favorite, but I like using TC sometimes.

Went to a local vape shop and picked up a variety pack (120ml for $18), really digging the Lava Flow this time around. Wicked up the Bonza v1.5. And ordered some Country Clouds Cornbread Pudding from Ejuice BOGO.

Which one did you order?
Vapeshell clone from fasttech. Had the insider and exocet but sold them with all my clones last year. Just been rocking the nautalis coils mtl with mtl plug from Troy. Kind want a change.

Hopefully that will appease the shinyitus gods.

*offers a dead goat, two chicken eggs, some muttered voodine chants and finishes appeasing said gods* You're all clear until next week, then I need you to bring me a picture of a leather recliner mounting a virgin coffee table and possibly a carter pin. Lost the original pin.

That'd be kinda cool, for something..

No, do not place it in the topside hallway here in hopes I stub my toe. I would pick it up and clear our building in a throw. Then, i would likely die as Thor would strike me down, but damn it what fun! :) :D

I swapped to NiChrome coil a little earlier this evening. The SS one had a leg burn itself snapped. Not the first time SS has done that on me. Know it's good SS, from TEMCO so likely my dumbness in holding the fire button too long.

No I didn't know I needed to. Hmm. I think the insider had 2 inserts. I assume this one will. But honestly didn't even think about it or look at the pictures for it. Just hit pay now. Lol

EDIT: just looked and it comes with 3 inserts. So ill make it work.

You can dial it down with the AFC ring, I just find it to be a smoother more consistent draw with the mtl inserts and ditch the ring...

If I go for mtl I have that plug as well. It's got a super small hole for a nice tight mtl. I might run a rdl coil. Like a 30ss staggered fused clapton.. Figured one up earlier today that will come out to .6

I made some panels for the G-Class. boy, what a PITA. the panels are nearly paper thin = sheet metal with a skin.
so I had to thin these down, AFTER I figured out they wouldn't fit. in the process, F'n em up. but they are prototype's. so the next ones will be a lot better. finding what I want to put on there, that is a whole lot tougher.

Niiice. That’s Yihi, right? Really cool, and it has a speedometer!
The panels look good even if they are really thin.

thanx, does look pretty cool. I made them just to give me an idea of what could look good on there.

it's not the thin part, it's the "all the F'ups parts" =lots of flaws. but still cool none the less.

here are the original panels, and probably the reason I got a real good deal on it = nobody wanted it.
they would have sold a lot of these if the camo was better looking.

Yeah, that is horrible camo. But the panels are nice. You do good panels, btw. And good price!

The speedometer is cute, though. Is it a joy stick? It’s really mini. One day I too shall have one...cue movie music.
