Just to put something to rest here, no one actually reported this thread yesterday. We do cruise the thread, as I'm sure you've seen, either through getting warnings, points, or rules being dropped in here, intermittently. The problem was in one of the photos that got posted in here. It was VILE, DISTURBING and VERY MUCH against the rules that I posted in here last night as a REMINDER that they do exist.

If you feel the need to blame someone for simply reminding you that we do have rules, rules that all of you "agreed" to when you joined this forum, whether you read those rules, or not, then blame ME. I was the one that stumbled upon the post, I was the one that deleted the post and dealt with it from there. ME.

As for our built in censors, yes they do exist. No one edited any posts out today, unless you chose to do so on your own. Those censors exist because, either those words/topics happen to go against the rules, or because they happen to go against the rules!

This is Joe's house, Joe gets to make those rules. If he should choose to change those rules, that's his call to make, and our responsibility to uphold. Don't care what's legal in what state and how silly some of that may seem, don't care. Until that subject is recognized at a federal level as being legal, it is not up for discussion in this forum. I didn't make the rules, I just play by them.

I think that's about all I have to say at this time.

TO EVERYONE IN THIS THREAD & TO THE MODS.

I feel it is very important to explain what occurred here as I do not want the people in this thread erroneously pointing fingers at each other or blaming each other for what may have occurred or the Mods for what you perceive might have occurred. I have no doubt the mods are sincere when they say they just noticed the issue, but even if someone did report it, I am responsible for my own actions and deserve what I had coming to me.

I was the one responsible for posting the horrendous image in question and I am one of the first to agree with the mods that the image in question was beyond horrific and something that thoroughly disgusts me personally and knowing that images like that would ever exist in the first place is nothing but a crime against humanity, much less the child in question. That Image was hidden behind a SPOILER and is reportedly an image from the Wiener laptop that was supposedly the aftermath of a session that child spent at the hands of John Podesta that was made into a meme by a user on another forum to stir the humanity of all who view that vile image into realizing the horrors that regularly occurred at the highest levels of those in power in our government by people who considered themselves above the laws of man and god alike and why we must come together to understand these things are not just a conspiracy theory, but horrible truth so we may hold our leaders responsible to ensure that anything like that can never happen again.

I can assure you I took no pleasure in posting that image and did so not to divide the community here on VU or cause arguments, but to reach beyond the petty divides of partisan politics & bickering that we engage in regularly, prepare us for what is to soon to come, get us to agree we need to stop this and unite behind our president in his quest to stamp this out & to do all we can as a group to ensure the very sick people who did acts such as that depicted in that image are put behind bars where they belong - no matter who they are.

We as a society are about to learn things about what occurred on Epstein Island and I have spent a lot of time researching these things, and that horrific image pales in comparison to much of what actually occurred occurred there in the tunnels below that Temple and in many other places across the country. While it may make us feel better to pretend these things do not exist, and those that are in power would never do such things, I would point out that that is the very attitude that allowed them to feel that they were entitled to commit such crimes without repercussions.

All of this is meant to prepare us for the release or justice being served over the contents of Anthony Wiener's Laptop and the vile images that caused several seasoned NYPD Officers to leave the room to vomit, to need counseling for years and for 7 of the 9 NYPD Officers who viewed the contents of that laptop to either commit suicide or meet untimely deaths under mysterious and very questionable circumstances.

I take full responsibility for my actions and sincerely apologize if I offended anyone with my post. While I know that my politics may offend many here, that has never been my intention. I do sincerely believe this issue transcends party politics, and it is a matter of human decency not to sweep these issues under the rug, but to deal with them directly as adults, yet fully understand that each of you has a right not to be subjected to my beliefs on this matter and I sincerely apologize to each of you if you were offended. I am also very sorry that my actions have brought a level of scrutiny to our threads you may not appreciate or welcome and am very sorry that my actions might make you uncomfortable in freely expressing yourselves in a manner in which you have become accustomed and I am truly sorry for that.



TO THE MODS:
  • I am the first to realize you have an impossible & often thankless job. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the all important job you do & the manner in which you go about your duties.
  • I would like to thank you for the manner in which I have been treated and do not dispute the discipline I have received.
  • I understand the rules you have posted and understand how I crossed the line.
  • I will remind you that the image in question was placed behind a spoiler to hide it from those who did not wish to be subjected to it with what I felt to be an adequate description to discourage those not inclined to view it, & thought that was good enough to handle the matter as the image did not depict the act of violence itself, but the aftermath of it with obvious captioning that did not condone the act & in fact wholeheartedly condemned it. I fully realize that is no excuse with regard to the rules you have posted and although I may believe I complied with the concept of those rules, if not the letter of them, as such I deserve the discipline I have received.
  • I have made comments about the AI Censor you employ that many of you may not appreciate. I realize it is a fact of life, but do think they are silly as we just look for ways around them. I mean no disrespect in doing so, I just often wonder what is the greater offense when dealing with them?
  • I am the first to realize that due to the UNPRECEDENTED times we live in - times where conservatives are being beaten down bloody in the streets of America on live video by ANTIFA that you have all afforded us great latitude with regard to the posting of images of real violence rule in the past as this is a matter of NEWS & Current Events we are bombarded with at a level never before seen in modern times and I sincerely thank you for that latitude as I just don't know how I could cope without that ability to vent my frustration at this sad state of affairs and discuss these matters. It is my sincere hope that that past practice of allowing us to discuss these current events NEWS issues will continue unabated as we are not intending to condone these events, but vent our disgust at these incidents we unfortunately see regularly - as a result of this recent issue of my Violation of the Rules.

unfortunately the squabbling takes this thread over the line to often, we let a lot go in here that wouldn't pass the rule test anywhere else in the forum, that bandwidth is constantly being tested in the internal battle of who can get the other side pointed first....

thought provoking adult conversation is one thing, like your post above which is respectful, counter argument can be at that same level... but instead conversation spirals all to often into a “fuck you and all you stand for mentality”, unfortunately while the aim of your post was no doubt sincere, these sort of topics elicit responses more often than not outside of that remit into pure mudslinging and angry tirades, which begs the questions of whether it serves the helpful cause you point to.

The question is how do members as a collective who visit here daily, avoid this thread from spiralling, keeping conversation flowing without it turning into hate? can this be achieved collectively or do the mods just need to step in and take action?

Very good points. Not sure how well you know me but I rarely delve into the constant bickering I see here, but will throw my 2 cents into the ring on occasion, I tend to post memes and articles meant to get my point across & show alternative points of view but when thing begin to get heated I usually pop right back to the other thread as I have a low tolerance for what others may term mutually enjoyable insulting locker room banter. It was going on long before I arrived, & I imagine it will continue long after I leave.

They really do love one another & their interactions & really are good people. A few are just contrarians as a rule. Don't envy your task there.

I don't truly imagine my posts will turn anyone's opinions away from their deeply held beliefs, but they do encompass mine & intellectually I have to try to believe better prepares some to accept what comes next in this little adventure DJT has placed us all on.. I truly haven't figured out if some are just that brainwashed by a mainstream narrative or if they are just so contrarian that they feel they must act belligerently and insultingly toward others taking an opposing view just for the hell of it...Also Not really sure how much I care about the answer TBH.

I wasn’t directing that at you in particular Tpat but the user collective engaging each other here, is there a happy medium to challenge beliefs in a healthy engaging way? I’m sure there is, but it takes a level of decorum and self restraint by all, it’s easy for “some” to take the fuck you road and poke sticks to stir up others, much more difficult to have a well articulated starting point and counter argument that everyone gains from.

breaking down a persons starting viewpoint and belief is a good read if done right, if people want these meaningful messages (both sides) to reach a wider audience the place to start is there.

This is a way of saying these political spaces need to start addressing this problem and self policing itself a bit more to keep things on the level, or if that is untenable mods will step in more often to address the fringe engagements which nobody wants. Believe us, mods want to refrain from policing VU and let people go about their business as much as possible but respecting house rules is mandatory for that to happen.

Wholeheartedly agree that in an ideal world that certainly would be my preferred method of discussion & believe many of us both strive to and manage to achieve that in most of what we do here. Certain individuals do appear to lack that capacity at times unfortunately & one in particular devolves very quickly and others have gotten so fed up with the childish nature they give it right back in kind & have almost just developed a rapport of sorts that I previously classified as an insulting locker room banter they take a level of humor from at this point that could easily be misinterpreted by others as being much more serious than I truly believe it actually is.

I realize you are taking your valuable time to provide much more than a pennies worth of free advice for people in this forum thread who should know better from the get go & I can only hope that they can see what what I see about you are saying and take heed & tone it down before you mods are forced to intercede. I can just hear myself being chastised about how I done screwed it up for everyone, but I'll wear it gladly & try to tone things down when I see it getting too heated.

Thank you for taking your time in a friendly manner to try & explain it for myself and others here in this thread about your expectations moving forward and I do apologize both for myself and for my friends in the thread for stepping over the line on occasion. As you rightly point out you understand with deeply held political beliefs things might naturally get out of hand on occasion, but the purposeful poking at each other just to get an argument started and devolve into a shouting match must end. We as a society are about to learn things about what occurred on Epstein Island and I have spent a lot of time researching these things, and that horrific image pales in comparison to much of what actually occurred occurred there in the tunnels below that Temple and in many other places across the country. While it may make us feel better to pretend these things do not exist, and those that are in power would never do such things, I would point out that that is the very attitude that allowed them to feel that they were entitled to commit such crimes without repercussions.

All of this is meant to prepare us for the release or justice being served over the contents of Anthony Wiener's Laptop and the vile images that caused several seasoned NYPD Officers to leave the room to vomit, to need counseling for years and for 7 of the 9 NYPD Officers who viewed the contents of that laptop to either commit suicide or meet untimely deaths under mysterious and very questionable circumstances.

I take full responsibility for my actions and sincerely apologize if I offended anyone with my post. While I know that my politics may offend many here, that has never been my intention. I do sincerely believe this issue transcends party politics, and it is a matter of human decency not to sweep these issues under the rug, but to deal with them directly as adults, yet fully understand that each of you has a right not to be subjected to my beliefs on this matter and I sincerely apologize to each of you if you were offended. I am also very sorry that my actions have brought a level of scrutiny to our threads you may not appreciate or welcome and am very sorry that my actions might make you uncomfortable in freely expressing yourselves in a manner in which you have become accustomed and I am truly sorry for that.

  • I am the first to realize you have an impossible & often thankless job. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the all important job you do & the manner in which you go about your duties.
  • I would like to thank you for the manner in which I have been treated and do not dispute the discipline I have received.

  • I will remind you that the image in question was placed behind a spoiler to hide it from those who did not wish to be subjected to it with what I felt to be an adequate description to discourage those not inclined to view it, & thought that was good enough to handle the matter as the image did not depict the act of violence itself, but the aftermath of it with obvious captioning that did not condone the act & in fact wholeheartedly condemned it. I fully realize that is no excuse with regard to the rules you have posted and although I may believe I complied with the concept of those rules, if not the letter of them, as such I deserve the discipline I have received.
  • I have made comments about the AI Censor you employ that many of you may not appreciate. I realize it is a fact of life, but do think they are silly as we just look for ways around them. I mean no disrespect in doing so, I just often wonder what is the greater offense when dealing with them?
  • I am the first to realize that due to the UNPRECEDENTED times we live in - times where conservatives are being beaten down bloody in the streets of America on live video by ANTIFA that you have all afforded us great latitude with regard to the posting of images of real violence rule in the past as this is a matter of NEWS & Current Events we are bombarded with at a level never before seen in modern times and I sincerely thank you for that latitude as I just don't know how I could cope without that ability to vent my frustration at this sad state of affairs and discuss these matters. It is my sincere hope that that past practice of allowing us to discuss these current events NEWS issues will continue unabated as we are not intending to condone these events, but vent our disgust at these incidents we unfortunately see regularly - as a result of this recent issue of my Violation of the Rules.
