Nicotine buzz

Why do I get a nicotine high from a Juul or Lava 2 pod system and I’ve never experienced this with my RTAs with higher nic level and much higher vapor output?

Are you using salts in your RTA? If not, that'd be my guess.

OK. I'll take a shot at this. Maybe you're more used to the performance of your RTAs so you know exactly how they are supposed to hit.

JUUL pods usually come in 50mg nicotine salt. Are you vaping that on your RTAs?

The Juul pods I’ve had said 3% and the lava 2 says 5%. I’ve vaped everything from 0-6% nicotine in my RTAs. I’ve never seen anything that says salt on the e-liquids that I’ve bought.

If that’s the difference, is it something I can add to my e-liquid or do I have to buy e-liquid that already has it?

Juul only uses nicotine salts. They're a smoother hit and absorb into the blood stream much faster than freebase nicotine.

You can buy juice that use nicotine salts. They're everywhere now. Just be careful using them in high wattage devices as you could start getting overdose symptoms such as nausea and headache.

You can also buy nicotine salts and add them to 0mg juice you've bought. I DIY and have both freebase and salts.

The reason for this is the Juul pods are 3% nic, the lava 5% nic and you have vaped 0.3% nic and 0.6% nic in your RTA

3% would be the same as 30mg/ml

I doubt you vape 30 in your RTA.

The high nic salt nic companies use percentage and the regular nic companies use mg/ml
They are two different systems of measurement.

A "1" in nic salt (1%) would read 10mg/ml on a regular bottle of eliquid.

So when you were vaping "6" you were vaping 6mg/ml which is 0.6% nicotine.

Anything above 1% nic in an RTA would be very unpleasant

Thanks! I learned something!!! Is there a quick list on adding nic salts or do I just need to do some napkin math?

Easiest way is to use a mixing calculator, keep in mind the higher the mg the more it will dilute the flavor of a premixed juice.

Nic salt vape juice are usually 20mg nicotine or more. 20mg = 2.0%

Regular vape juice is usually labeled 0mg, 3mg, 6mg. 6mg = 0.6%

Huge difference in nicotine levels.
