gurgling issues with full sized Nautilus tank

Hi!

I'm back to vaping after a year or so away and one of my main tanks is a full-sized Nautilus with an incessant gurgling issue. Every time I refill it, I do the following:

Rinse the entire tank. Unscrew and blow any residual juice out of tye coil into a paper towel. (There is always some, but not a lot). Dry it thoroughly, reassemble and refill.

Yet, each time, I have a gurgle (there's juice in there somewhere, and some of it is coming up the drip tip into my mouth) unless I vape it either straight up-and-down--which is really awkward--or at a 90 degree angle, straight out from my face. Also not ideal. Any other angle and I get the gurgle almost immediately.

Any Nautilus users out there with advice?

Thanks so much!

Why rinse the tank with every fill? Need more info about the juice ratio.

Juice ratio varies between 50-50 and maybe 70-30 PG/VG. I'm washing, blowing, etc. because I"m trying to get to the root of this issue. Normally, I wouldn't feel the need. But this full sized Nautilus does last me several days, so there is an appreciable layer of gunk around the rubber ring that goes around the base, where you screw the coil in. Hope this is helpful.

Start by closing off the airflow holes while filling. I never fill above the coil. Try that and see if it works. I find the 0.7ohm coil works the best. Or the trition mini clapton (which are basically obsolete now)

I will close off airholes--good idea, thanks. I don't think I'm filling above the coil but will make sure. 0.7 (vs the 1.7 I'm using) seems like a big jump. Can I expect major differences? Also, the "triton mini clapton" I have never heard of. Is it an Aspire product or am I just totally out of it? I will google.

I have no idea what you mean when you say "absolute".

Thanks for your help.

Just spell checked. LOL was busy with my animals and it slipped. Meant to say obsolete.
You won't have any gurgling with the 0.7ohm coil. Just my experience though. The aspire nautilus 2 is so much better. I keep breaking the 5mL tanks. I bought a new one at eightvape for cheap. It's still in the package.

Gurgling is caused by a flooded coil which in my experience is from an improperly installed coil or a bad o-ring or not enough power for the e-Liquid you are using. Good Luck finding the answer~! It is out there

BVC Aspire Coils photo.jpg Oh, also: I have some Aspire BVC clearomizer coils (several, actually). Wondering if this much shorter coil could be used with either Nautilus. So far, my only result is "NON" -- meaning no connection on my mod. If anyone knows of other tanks these might work with, please let me know. Shame for them to go to waste. I am including a rather poor photo (courtesy my rather poor phone camera) for your kind perusal.

This link will tell you what tanks they fit. I have a few of these coils somewhere for a k-1(aspire)

Perhaps the bottom gasket is the problem, Triple 7 is a good place to get a replacement. Had to order one for my uncle's nautilus.

Thanks to everyone for all the great tips. Artemis, I am checking out your links now.

SteveS45, I don't think it's a flooded coil because of my stringent routine of blowing the small amts of juice in there out of it--unless a) small amounts of juice are enough to create that kind of gurgle (tho I doubt it) and/or b) there is a secondary reason for juice getting in there . I will be sure the air holes are closed when I fill--I had not been thinking about that.

I also think a faulty bottom gasket may be the culprit--and wouldn't have thought of that. Thanks Letitia! I am making a note of Triple 7 as a place to get a new one.

I just found an Aspire K1 -- a tiny little glass tank that's probably been discontinued and which I'd completely forgotten about. I should have realized earlier... I did originally buy them together.

I can use the BVCs in that. This tank works just fine, but FYI, they are small (1.5ml) and have a very narrow area for filling. You need to use a needle tip or a very steady hand. So a bit of trouble, but well worth it in finding a use for these coils. It was Artemis' link to the Aspire sale at eightvape that brought me to the picture and jogged my memory, got me digging around to find it and well, thanks again.

I have a K1 and coils somewhere. They do work just as well as newer tanks. This past xmas I bought a innokin D22 tank. I believed the hype. LOL it was a piece of shit for me.

I got an Innokin (i believe it's a T-18, since these are the coils that fit it) several months back from a very kind person on here who sold me a bunch of old mods/coils for only a few bucks. But I have to admit, the Innokin T-18 is a pain in the butt--for several reasons. Not sure if it's like your D22...
I will continue using it, since I have it, and a few more coils, but afterwards it's time for retirement!

Thanks again to all for the great advice.
