hiya, guys.
i bot some cap bannana split n it has a very strong alcohol smell.
any problem with me just leaving the bottle open for a few days?
i read that some people let boozy mixes sit out after mixing, but i suspect i'd loose other volitiles from other components doing that.

what do you do?

I would never let a concentrate breath only after mixing. Sort of like a bottle of wine you let it breath for a short while but don't leave it open for extended periods of time before finishing it.

It will go away. Just because it smells that way doesn't mean it will taste that way either. There is no need to leave it open.

From MSDS sheet. Appears to contain no alcohol.
Although the Ethyl vanillin or the isoamyl stuff may be pretty much alcohol based?

Pure PG itself is a sugar alcohol - and then there are the secret ingredients

True liquid vanillas are just basically vanilla beans soaked in high test alcohol; its easy to make using vodka for instance

Does ethyl vanillin contain alcohol?
As a synthesized chemical, this aromas is general recognized as halal. Vanillin andethyl vanillin are flavourings present in vanilla beans. In their powdered form they do not contain alcohol. In current practice, most of the vanillin and ethyl vanillin isproduced synthetically.

so I am still confused..
Normal day for me :)

Never read the labels folks.
LOL

Isoamyl acetate is used to confer banana flavor in foods. Banana oil commonly refers to a solution of isoamyl acetate in ethanol that is used as an artificial flavor. It is also used as a solvent for some varnishes and nitrocellulose lacquers.

not real happy about acetate either.
acetone is a poison, tho i think kids sniff it to kill unwanted brain cells.

Only banana flavoring I found that I could vape was from flavorconcentrates.com.
All natural. and very realistic but requires about a 1 month steep.
Same with strawberry.

Because it is all natural it does have to be used at a higher percentage like around 15% or so for straight banana.

15% ?
don't know if i could go that low.
i usually use 25% -30% so i can get a hint of taste.

@susieqz also never forget some of the people who make recommendations either have no taste buds and require extremely high percentages or are so allergic they can't take more than what the main stream or average user mixes. Like I said be careful what suggestions you might use.

I usually start with the Manufacturers recommended percentage and either dilute or add. Works for me but I started making DIY when a bunch of Idiot self proclaimed DIY Gurus made such a big deal about RY4. Which is basically Tobacco with some Caramel or Vanilla but back then it was some kind of big fucking secret.

Most of the Manufacturers I use have it posted on the website for the individual flavors. I am not talking about someones recipe I am talking about what the actual maker suggests. Remember again this is just how I go about finding the sweet spot.

i love that mix.
i don't taste custard, but whatever i taste i enjoy.
If you like cinnamon rolls and such add a bit of CAP Cinnamon Roll V1.
Once you get that right then try adding some double apple to the mix.

i have the apple, so i'll get the cinnamon, for fun.

cap doesn't seem to have recommendations, possibly because vaping isn't their primary
focus.
crom, check the label on your vanilla custard.
same warning not to vape.
this is worrisome.

bottles with labels is in freezer.
Been vaping CAP VC V1 for 3 years. All I have vaped for over the past year or two.

CAP does not officially condone or promote their products for vaping.
which is a good thing, the FDA cannot mess with them.
And if you go to BCF all of the CAP V1 products will have a warning notice.

Only side effect is that my feet stink.

oh dear. i didn't get v1.
what bothers me is that only some bottles say do not vape.
i thot it was to protect against liability, but it's not.

they have a peach v1 or 2 which is disgusting so i avoided it. 4 oz bottles are pricey.

I only buy the V1 CAP flavors. all the V2 I have tried tastes of bile to me.
And the bad stuff they are worrying about is in minuscule amounts compared to smoking. Yep you get it in cigs too at a much higher rate.

Vaping is not totally risk free just a MUCH safer alternative to smoking.
Harm Reduction, not Harm Elimination.

I store all my flavors in the freezer.
Only had problems with Brown sugar Extract. It crystallizes, but is fine when let warm up and shaken.
You should always let the bottle warm to room temp and shake well before using.
Juice should be no issue either if you let warm and shake.
The last bottle of VC V1 I pulled out a few weeks ago had a 2016 date on it and it was fine.
I write the mo/yr on the bottles when I put them in the freezer and use oldest first.
I fill a 30 ml amber bottle from the 4 oz bottle and put the 4 oz bottle back in the freezer.
I do the same with my nic.
Heck I even have a few gallons of PG/VG in there :)
