I would have to argue that a mentally disturbed or depressed minor might not have the capacity to give informed consent in this case. Generally speaking though, I am in agreement otherwise especially in debilitating & terminal medical scenarios.

I honestly don't give a shit if they are disturbed or depressed - that's someone ELSES opinion. We have far too many goddamned "opinions" and fewer and fewer Rights.

I have zero faith in "opinion" of friend/family/shrink/court as relate to Rights.

My point is there is a generation of youth today that have been mentally mindfucked by this new world order to think it is cool to play the victim & suicidal depression is almost encouraged by separating them from family, church, & friends using social media & a just kill yourself mindset. It is as if they plan to control the population by driving these poor kids to kill themselves. I have an issue with that.

Meanwhile, all Rights center on the basic Right of Self.. Takes on Property Rights. We've had over a century of more and more infringement on the ultimate Property Right - your own body and life.

I reserve the RIght to disagree with stupid people/decisions, but it doesn't stop you - or her - from having the RIght to them: in her case, no one else is harmed and that gets my full support. Always has. Only Government and Catholicism has continually refused that Right with bullshit-rules forever & ever.. (You can't tax the dead)

I suspect a vast majority of this country have the stance of: "Yer wrong, but I'll defend yer Rights to the Death". Although, I freely admit the last 10 or 20 years of endless abuse of all our Social Contracts (and idiotic Global Policing) may well be poisoning that Well.

Agree on all points however morally I believe we can just allow them to make that decision until they are old enough to drink & vote & have received counseling by a qualified counselor who is not mandated to encourage an end of life decision. I also believe it must be self administered if that decision is made.

Last thing I want to do is cede the right of self determination to doctors to conduct a death panel & make a decision on killing someone & administering as they see fit. I can see that getting out of hand way too quickly. That case I posted feels too much like that.
