i recently saw my friend and he ask if me i would like to buy all of his vape stuff as he told me he quit vaping period. so as we were talking, i handed him a cig and he quit smoking too.

at first i thought he was going back to.smoking (as a lot ppl do in china) but he didnt, instead he quit smoke out of his mouth period.

before u say "he a short term smoker", i can tell u hes not. hes 30 this year and been smoking since high school. he never intended to quit smoking, it just happen he said. vaping was another hobby for him while he was smoking aka just another expensive smoking device.

but some how it just came together he said. which got me thinking if anyone else can be like him.

i quit smoking once, wasnt hard to quit for me (but i wasnt a proud of the way i quit smoking since i was also a high school smoker). stupid reason got me back, then i found vaping and it was fun. i believe that one day i can quit vaping and smoking altogether one day, i just dont know when or how.

Ive thought about it. Even went to work with no vape one day to see how I would do. Not too bad. But then I'd have nothing in common with all the awesome people here. I mean as good of friends as we are, friends lose touch after a while, right?

I'm pretty "meh" about quitting. I have no intentions of trying to quit but if it happens organically that's fine too. I doubt it will, I'm pretty stuck on the hand to mouth habit.

I think that is a huge part of why I still vape, though I vape considerably less than I used to, just naturally wanting less

Yeah with a house full of cats taking up knitting isn't really an option. Think I'd go insane at work without my vape as well. People just don't die fast enough to keep me busy.

I had been using the same few flavors and the same gear for probably 2-3 years and had honestly thought about quitting this year. But discovered some new juice companies, discovered how easy rebuildables had become and tried squonking. Needless to say I have spent a good amount of money on new stuff over the last few months. So quitting has been put off.

But no biggie. Vaping ceased to be a tool for staying off cigs probably 4 years ago. Now it is like an enjoyment thing like a glass of wine is for some folks.

Thought about quitting vaping.
It was just a momentary thought though and passed quickly.

and yes shrubberies and such are fine even paver projects and such as well.
I actually think far more about quitting mowing than quitting vaping. Just have not figured out the details on that yet though...

No, Actually when I found vaping I knew I'd get to have my cake and eat it too.

I can use nicotine forever without getting a bonus of lung cancer on the side.

I've seen one too many former smoker quit vaping, only to return to smoking to even think about quitting vaping unless I wake up one day and don't feel like vaping

It will never be a goal

Nope. Not for a second. I have way too much fun making juice and buying way too many flavors/gear.:D
That was my mentality to a t....now, not so much. After the BP issues arose last year and putting my body through pure hell trying to get medicines that didn't make me suicidal, I thought it might be a good idea to do away with nicotine. I mean, it wasn't doing me any personal harm and I was only vaping at 1.5mg (down from 30mg when I started 4 1/2 years ago  ), but it is a vasoconstrictor, and since I was revamping my diet and lifestyle anyway, it just made sense to try going without it. Surprisingly enough, I broke myself of it pretty quickly with minimal side effects. (Translation: Nobody died.) And that was my initial goal when I started vaping - to give up smoking and nicotine. I'm still vaping, just 0mg and not a fraction as much as I was. I mean, it does still taste good and it is relaxing. But I'm honestly getting ready to try and sell most of what I have, just maybe keep a couple of my every day beater mods, a couple tanks and some coils and cotton, but wipe the dust off the rest and put it up for sale. I have a freezer full of nicotine and flavors that I'll never use now because quite frankly, I'm tired of mixing too. As far as I'm concerned, it served its purpose and got me to quit the cancer sticks but my addictive personality sure left a lot of evidence behind..... :giggle:

Every single day I ask if vaping is worth it. Pretty sure if it’s a need to stay busy then I can satisfy that need without vaping. Fun hobby for the time being.

Thought about it a lot over the years. Initially vaping was only meant to get me off the stinkies and the technology sucked at the time so every time I got a big mouthful of shit juice or the battery charger that looked like a cigarette pack failed to charge the batteries and left me grinding teeth, this was the birdie on the shoulder "This vaping shit sucks, quit and start smoking again". Mind you these were early cigalikes and they did in fact suck something horrible.

Then the tech got better and better and once got into rebuilding and stuff, the desire to quit waned. This scratches a lot of itches. Fiddling, hand to mouth, nic fix and so on. As my only real vice, quitting is not presently on the table.

Yikes! I had no idea! I’m glad you figured stuff out and got to a better place with your health. I’m still vaping at 3 right now, with the goal of dropping it to 1.5 eventually. It’s possible that someday I could get bored of the whole thing and want to quit vaping, too, but right now I don’t see it. Things change, though.....but for me, for now, vaping serves many purposes and I’m happy where I’m at.
