Had a drag a while back. Solid built, never had any issues with it. Smok is a toss up. Some have no issues with them some people have tons of issues. The Innokin proton is a great regulated device. I bought mine used over a year ago. Still running strong. Not sure what your budget is but the IPVv-it is a strong mod as well. And has one of the top chips on the market. Ipv Sticking. Again not sure of your budget but Dotmod makes great devices too. That's about all I have for first hand experience as the rest of my stuff is squonk, mechanical devices.

You'll run Sigelei Sibra F Kit tank on the mod you buy?
Or what tank(s).
This is just aesthetics - fyi. Sibra tank is 25mm at base and almost 47mm at widest point of bubble glass. @ 24mm, Drag is the narrowest of the 3 Drags so you'd have a slight edge overhang. It's also the only Drag that the 510 isn't more centered. Drag 2 would be a better fit than Drag imo. If you like that shape, there are a couple other similar mods on the market that have resin look on both sides.

All Drag dimensions on this page.

Kits are usually lacking somewhere. Like the mod but the tank isn't up to par, or vs versa.
Suggest keep open to buying separate.

Do you need batteries & charger?
You want to put a budget number on it?

I have a smok v9. No real issues. But unless some1 gave me more smok gear i don't c myself purchasing any. I know of plenty of people that rely on a smok mod as their main set up.

Yes will need batteries and charger, like I said I'm new to this so not sure of what tanks and stuff are good. I would like to keep budget close 100 if possible. But I also want something I can build upon and not have to buy another new mod in a few months

I’d pick this over Morph. Bit of a fingerprint magnet, but so is Morph unless you get the satin black.
https://www.vaporesso.com/vape-batteries-mods/luxe

This one has the same good chip as Drag 2 and Drag Mini. A little bigger than some, but will take bigger batteries for longer runtime too. Nice looking. Comes with 2 batteries if you buy from US vendor. Make sure though. Drag 2 is a good choice, same thing different wrapper.
https://www.voopoo.com/x217

Of course pricing depends on where you buy. Some have ongoing discount codes, Mothers Day code, free shipping, 1st time customer code, etc.
Is there somewhere I can learn about all this stuff without being to overwhelming. Seems everyone has there opinions and hardly ever the same lol
Your in the right place. It would take a month of Sundays and then some to search everything out on your own.
As far as aesthetics, went along the lines of the 2 mods you mentioned in your original post.
The reason I steered away from smok is because there are better companies with QC, and the Drag is older now and narrow for these mostly 25+ mm tanks.
Opinions may differ, but it's all about what you like.
We're just here to help in some way, mostly to help not make a bad decision.

The Innokin X is a great X

Yes. Innokin creates great nearly anything. Only thing I had negative regarding Innokin was one of the polycarbonate tanks ... well two of them really, they cracked after using menthol juice. This of course was no fault of the tanks exactly. Lots of red flags were posted online discussing various "tank cracker" flavors to not use with any polycarbonate tanks. Did I read them? Eh, a few but I did not feel too concerned to remain abreast of all the flavors which kept increasing in some cases daily. Again, nothing Innokin did wrong, merely taught me I would use Pyrex or Borax glass, SS tanks if I used any tanks again.

So yeah, will second or third a vote up to Innokin products. They do quite well in making affordable yet durable & quality gear.

Kits are usually lacking somewhere. Like the mod but the tank isn't up to par, or vs versa.
Suggest keep open to buying separate.
-Mod

Do you need batteries & charger?

Agree with this point of view. always be ready to buy separate pieces, mod, rda/tank. Giving a spartan perspective, a mod is a mod, is a mod ... they're all battery boxes in some way. An atty is an atty, is an atty. They're all the "working" part which vaporizes the juice. You hit some difference with wax and such but I'm just rolling on juice as that seems where you're aiming to buy.

I would like to keep budget close 100 if possible. But I also want something I can build upon and not have to buy another new mod in a few months

Not sure how you feel about mechanicals? Might suggest a Coppervape 18650 single cell squonk mod and a Gorge RDA. Thinking you might spend ~ $50 at most to get that set up. Last I saw an aluminum Coppervape was ~ -$20 & a Gorge was ~ -$25. I use this kind of set up. Keep your gear cleaned up in good order and don't drop the soft aluminum mod, they can last a good while and repair kits are ~ $3 or so for the Coppervape. O-rings, extra hex head grub screws for the Gorge, peek insulators, maybe a 510 squonk/regular drip pin ... I'd guess ~ -$5 or so for repair kit on the Gorge. Only a suggestion, FWIW, YMMV & other Standard Disclaimers.

*LOL* Oh, we all got the same in mind though. Want you to get a good set up you're going to like. There are though a plethora of options, even worse than "corn cereal" or "welcome to Mikey D's, ya wanna has a burger with chese and a side of fries or chicken sandwich and onion rings, milkshake, tea, coffee, milk, water, OJ?"

The market is so very wide open. Be aware though I fear it won't continue being so. Seems some bright fella got an idea of charging taxes on all Chinese goods. "Way to go Bright Fella! *thumbs up*" ooops wrong thumb that. ;) China will just sell goods to the rest of the globe. We might end up getting stuff imported from Lithuania or maybe Berlin, Paris, Rome, Mother Russia, Cuba, Mexico (face it even a wall will not stop them, simply tunnel under, fly over), Canada. What do you think that Bright Fella will do then? yeah, washing egg of the face might help. Maybe not though.

Being new to vaping, might not want to go full mech atm. Unregulated, maybe but probably not. Regulated seems the best choice for now imho. There's already task in learning what mod and sub ohm to get, so adding 'need to knows' might be overwhelming.
RTA if fairly straight forward > wouldn't have to be concerned on where or how much $ for coils, and would lower vaping cost a lot.

Agreed. A good regulated mod is best for a newer vaper. And allows you figure out your vaping style and preferences.
Again imho

I concur but still felt it alright to offer a suggestion, any suggestion ... I could have suggested , no wait an I.C.B.M would have been overkill for sure. D'oh.:)

Lissen to the guys here pointing you to regulated devices. I agree with them despite my suggestion. sometimes we each wind up thinking "bestest of all things I got for everybody", or "one hammer to smash all nails even screws."

*puts his brakes on, phones off the country take over scheduled for thirty seconds from now*

Think I'll go watch some Total Combat MMA/Shoot Fight fighting, or something as mind numbing on the idiot box. caught up housework ... yet again. Ugh. I keep myself out of work. Even if I worked out of the home, I'd be doing the same, if not wouldn't be lack of trying

A mech is always an option. Just alot more to know when using it. I say a regulated mod because i find it good to have both

I don't disagree, well except it seems I do using only mechs. *chuckles smh* I just don't like stuff that fritzes and lacking a college level electronics background (ah ha ) I get stuck with a brick.

Reviews are just opinions. You could search out other "best" sub ohm reviews. The tank this one picks is highly regarded.
We have info here on an RTA if that interests you.

Is this gorgeous or what?

Geek_Vape_Aegis_Legend_200W_Coffee.jpg

That's a Geekvape Aegis Legend Limited Edition (coffee) for $64.95 plus shipping at Element Vape.

I recommend the Aegis Legend to people a lot. That LE version has the Geekvape Alpha tank, which I have not tried, but the mod is top shelf, tough and durable, uses two 18650 batteries so time between charges is good.

I'm a Geekvape fan. Also like the Voopoo hardware I have, the gene chip other posters referred to is hard to beat. You can get that same chip in the Voopoo VMate 200 for less than $40 several places online. The VMate isn't as popular as the Drag and Drag 2, but it's a nice mod. I've been really pleased with mine.

Did not read the entire thread, but hopefully someone cautioned you about the batteries you buy. Stick with good brands like Samsung, Sony, LG, Molicel. Don't buy them off eBay or from Amazon - go to a reputable battery dealer like liionwholesale.com. Get an intelligent charger that will shut off when batteries are fully charged. Overcharged batteries get very temperamental and will overheat and vent on ya if you aren't careful.

Most mods come with a cable that can be used for charging as well as firmware updates (when updates are available). Most of us with some years behind us know that batteries are more reliable and last longer if they are charged externally, in a smart charger, especially for mods that have more than one battery. It is important that the charging of the two batteries is even, one not charged more than the other, and mods by and large just don't do a very good job of that when charging inside the mod.

There are dozens of good places online. I buy most of my stuff from myvpro.com, vapewild.com, eightvape.com, breazy.com, vaporrange.com. There's also myfreedomsmokes.com, eliquid.com, elementvape.com, vapordna.com, and many others.

vaporrange and eliquid have free shipping no matter the size of the order, but of course they don't have everything you might want.

Best prices on hardware generally come from eightvape and breazy when they have sales, but they do charge for shipping.

Like said. Most regulated mods have usb charging. Some use it. Most don't. And they aren't built for charging like a dedicated charger.
Batteries are the weakest link to staying as safe as possible, so an external charger is recommended.
For batteries, liionwholesale, illumn, imrbatteries. Maybe charger too just depends on what your mod/tank vendor(s) has to offer.
Samsung 30Q is a great 18650 for up to about 50 watts per battery.
For an idea of cost, 4x30Q+ZTAR VC4+= about $45 shipped if in states. Get some battery wraps and battery insulators while your at it, for down the road, about another buck or 2 while your already paying shipping.

Before you order anything, what's your thought on what gear?

I see that on the voopoo site. Assuming that's China? At element vape, it doesn't come with batteries.

I wish they had a black and white resin panel though.

I saw that. You have to shake it though it seems. Buttons don't seem to rattle. I'm thinking it's not that bad, but could cut a wrap down and add a layer.

Kind of sounds like your mod is ok, but can't find coils for your tank. You didn't specify about what ohm coils you were vaping or what wattage you were using, but....
Check out these tanks; they all use the same type of easy to find coils.
Aspire Atlantis, ELeaf Melo, Tobeco Super Tank coils. All hail @georgemeadal

What is a good reputable online place to buy stuff from?

So if you were to go to element vape:
https://www.elementvape.com/geek-vape-aegis-legend-200w-aero-mesh-kit

You could add a pair of batteries to the order and add a charger to the order.
They only have 2 bay chargers at the moment but that's fine.

upload_2019-5-13_2-32-32.png

The price comes out to $92.95 (or $97.95 for Limited Edition Colors)

upload_2019-5-13_2-33-49.png

I don't have this mod and rarely buy from element vape but it does conveniently have everything you need in a nice drop down menu.

You may be able to find the things you need cheaper elsewhere but you need these items regardless:

1) The starter kit
2) a pair of high drain 18650 batteries (unless you choose another kit with bigger cells)
it's always better to have two pairs. one for the device while the other two are charging.
3) a charger

4) it's always good to get an extra pack of coil heads for whatever tank you get in the kit.

I bought a Lost Vape Paranormal DNA250C from Element Vape and had no issues. Shipping was fast, and it was free, since the item was almost $200.

I purchased a Nitecore d4 charger and batteries from a local vape shop, so I already had batteries for this mod, plus I already had three other dual 18650 mods and batteries for those as well. I have three pairs of 18650 batteries, so I rotate those in my dual 18650 mods.

Batteries, charger, wraps and protectors from Liion Wholesale would be
38.50 shipped
https://liionwholesale.com/products/xtar-vc2-battery-charger?variant=12199953006686
4 so you always have 2 charged.
https://liionwholesale.com/products...iscount-genuine-and-tested?variant=2915614724
These are for when a wrap needs to be replaced. There’s other colors. As long as the insulator isn’t damaged it can be reused. The wraps last a long time as well as long as care is taken when installing/removing from mod/charger,,,but when you need them, you have to have them. Safety!
https://liionwholesale.com/products/18650-pvc-heat-shrink-wraps-10-pack-black?variant=4227682304028
https://liionwholesale.com/products...lators-5pcs-matte-black?variant=4565304410144

Total = $122.50 while getting 4 batteries, wraps&insulators, and a pack of coils.
If you don’t find that tank in a color you want, the Falcon King is 10 more and uses the same coils.

Charger/batteries/wraps are a given.

If that style mod isn’t for you, Smoant Cylon is good and can be found for probably $50 or less. Or sub the mod for one you like.
Drag 2 Kit , with T2 tank that is supposedly a well liked tank.
60 – shipped https://www.eightvape.com/products/voopoo-drag-2-177w-kit?variant=16768288194671
iJoy Showgun Kit is Univ mod and Kitana tank, is Drag-esk w/resin both sides. About the same cost as Drag 2.
https://www.ijoycig.com/product/item-551.html
@ 28mm wide, imo a 24+mm - 25+mm tank would look good, esp if using bubble glass.
