Son of a bitch - this kind of shit is terrible for all vapers wherever you live

Sets a terrible precedent and makes vaping that less attractive to smokers

Taxing the heck out of prefilled pods it would seem.
Not hit nearly as hard on bottles of juice.

Raising the price $5-$9 is plenty

Us DIYers are not so common outside the forum it seems
DIYers are not common in vaping at all I think.
Hopefully they will become more common though.

Here in KY it seems to be just as expensive to vape as smoke if you buy all your juice and factory coils.
At least if you buy all your stuff at vape shops.

at .09/ml that would be under $3 increase for a 30 ml bottle of juice.
Yep sucks but not as bad as the .29/ml for the under 5 ml bottles/pods.

Actually.... taxing vape stuff may wind being the only reason it is not banned.
the gummit will not want to end their tax revenue.

All I really have to buy is flavorings, at $75-$90 for nine months of vaping, plus VG, around $25 a gallon which has been lasting me about 10 months or so, including juice experiments that get tossed out. None of those are effected by vape taxes

Have enough CB and wire to last for several years and enough Nic and gear to last the rest of my life

Still like to replace my batts every six months though, but also not part of usery vape taxes

Don't worry about stockpiling PG and VG, they are used for other things and available on Amazon, at Wally World, etc cheap as long as you don't say it's for vaping

Glass bottles are best for long term storage of nic. Clear glass is fine in the freezer, lets you see if your nic is yellowing or anything.
imho 120 ml bottles are the best size since the more air is in a bottle of nic the faster it will oxidize.
I fill a 30 ml amber bottle from a 120 ml freezer bottle and this is my working bottle of nic.
I keep my 120 ml bottles in plastic tubs with lids to prevent any possible breakage.
I also keep my flavorings in the freezer and my PG and VG as well.
Batteries I replace every 3 years or so.

Same with the flavoring used in DIY. they are actually food flavorings.
However that can become an issue if sold or labelled as to be used for vaping.
Technically they become a tobacco product under the deeming regs in that case.
Wire with a brand such as Lightning Vape may also be and issue as well as vape labelled cotton.
But plenty of non vape labeled sources for those things.

Ya read the part where the tax is to be applied to all pre-existing inventory and shit?
Not to mention full data collection on all customers, invoices, etc.
How are small shops going to pay that? Simple they ain't. If caught, the state can seize everything related to the proceeds..inventories, cars, houses, fines, etc.

It's treated like tobacco now.

My concern is it says all vapor products....does that mean I have to self-tax on online purchases from outside the state or is that considered illegal now like ordering tobacco is? The wording is all-inclusive and yet vague...on purpose I'm sure.

I DIY juice and build my own coils, but it is still worrying.
My postman knows I vape and order things from China and elsewhere, he even jokes about it... "got some more vapes did ya?" My Building Management Company also knows I vape.

What if they decide to turn me in now?

I'm attaching the whole bill in PDF.

OFC, nobody that vapes seems to live in WA except me, so I guess it doesn't matter much.
Vapers like smokers, tend to be a 'I got mine" sort. Until it happens to them. :grumpy:

She made it clear, she has zero interest in messing with juice or building anything period

So, guess she will have to pay through the nose. It's her money *shrugs*
Ya i said the same about cigs. Until illinois cook xounty wanted me to pay mor in taxes thsn the actual price of the pack. Then i saw i could roll my own for 1.10 a pack. Then i found diy vaping for under 50 cents a day all in.

And so it begins, others will follow. States then the Feds. Nicotine users are sinners and will have to pay for such.
How much is a pack of smokes in NYC?

You're only a sinner if getting your nicotine by any other means than big tobacco

Exactly, big tobacco wants to corral their users and govt doesn't care as long as they get their money come next Friday.

Same game as played in many other areas of govt/business.

On the vape taxes thing.
It was inevitable but the free ride was nice while it lasted.

sinning is much more enjoyable if you are not being taxed/punished for it :)

Yikes! So sorry Caff! Next nicotine order I will grab some extra for you. Is there a law stating about obtaining nicotine through mail order/gift? I will alway mark as VG or soap making ingredient.

Line 21 is an important point for DIY supplies "and is sold for such purpose'
Like I said flavorings branded or advertised for vaping use, wire, cotton, etc are all vape stuff under this law.
And the Deeming regs as well.

I worry a bit about Bull City flavor.
I was pleased when they changed from vapor to flavors.
But then they started the recipe packs and such on their site....

Forgot to add that Gov Evers (WI) budget includes a 71% tax hike on ecigs/fluids (which equals the excise tax rate on cigarettes). I'm thinking they are voting for his proposal this week but not 100% sure.
I suppose I need to order nicotine this week or next week by the latest.

Much appreciated, but I have like 2.5L of 100mg nic stocked from the old vape-scare days. I'm pretty good on that account, I think.
I don't make juice more than a few times a year in more than 50-120ml batches per flavor @ 14mg. I can always go lower too if i have to. :)

They WOULD count Wire/VG/PG/Flavorings/Cotton/etc. as 'e-cig components' if they could, but they really can't since I don't have to order them from an e-cig shop.

IDK really where the shoes will fall on this one when it comes to gear though. Granted, I have enough mods and rebuildables to last for decades.

Everything I order is from outside WA since their last round of taxes and VapeNW moved out of state. I still pay WA sales tax on most of those. So, if they count hardware in, that'll be a problem. Not sure at this point. ECX could be in trouble.

Well just remember I have a big stand up freezer. I have a lot of nic already from the past scares. I just told hubs I'll probably need to buy some more-just in case. I don't want to smoke cigs and I know my weakness.

Thanks!

I hear ya...I don't either. l like my vapes too much.
I got a 7yr vape-anniversary in June and I intend to make it. :)

It doesn't take effect until October IIRC, so I at least got some time to stock up if needed.

They can if they are labeled for vape or advertised sold as for use with vape.

Lightning vapes wire?
Cotton Bacon by Wick n Vape?
Just 2 things that i noticed on my build station...

Some flavorings are advertised/labelled for vaping use.

Yuppers.

I've quit ordering from vape stores for some time now for DIY/Building supplies except flavorings and occasional sales, but even that I could get around pretty easy. Mom was a Wilton cake decorator. ;)

Wire: TEMco
Wick: Puffs Cotton from AMZ
PG/VG: eBay and AMZ

I could probably fuel my hobby side with the Trading Post nearly indefinitely too...lol.

You can get flavorings pretty much anywhere.
I get essential depot PG/VG from Amazon. If you have prime it is often cheaper than buying from essential depot.
amazon also has Capella and other brands of flavoring.
Better deals at BCF though.

does not take effect till OCT?
Prolly some vape store sale outs before then if they have to pay tax on inventory.

Ya, thanks...I know.

But, I'd been posting this long before as had CASAA, and nobody hardly commented except for Political/Gov't comments.

It's just frustrating and depressing in general. People seem to only rally after the thing happens.
