Come on guys!, if you haven’t posted a build in a while test yourself and show us! We wanna see everything! Nothing gets looked down on. Every time you share your work it makes you better, I really believe that.
For the past couple of weeks I've been contemplating to do so. Trouble is, I'm about equally as lazy as my palate's refinement. :sadpanda:

Did a round of pulsing and shooting today. Got a few more decent shots than normal. Still have 1 more round of pulsing to do ... so there should be at least a couple more color variations to get. I REALLY want to vape these. But I also cannot make myself skip the satisfaction of getting to admire the hard work. Especially when the coil is cooperating with the camera.

Gave up on trying to see the "square wire" ... so I took matters into my own hands!!!
Golds creepin in on the SS ribbon as well.

N80 Golds coming through

Edited out the Background ... Gonna try my hand at throwing something behind it.
Also, Alloy mixed colors <3 ... god that silvery Kanthal would look amazing in there  Probably swing it around and get a shot of the hack and slash just to see all the colors.

This is not really related to coilbuiling , but i figured i post it here anyways.
I traded my LE Soi in a Suicide Queen from purge , but there was a catch with the purge...coating was not 100%.
With an idea i had from before , i whent ahead and did the trade.
Let me know what you think

Chef's been in the game way too long to become salty. I didn't really see it as a big deal, meaning you posting your mods, they're very nice looking, and I wasn't going to say anything cause I try to mind my own business, but technically this is the post your builds thread and I'm not saying you did anything wrong, I'm just appreciating @CrazyChef v2.0 's point cause sometimes this thread can go off on these tangents that are not about the builds, which again is alright, but we always wanna bring it home back to the builds so we all can become better builders. I'm not attacking you in anyway so please don't misunderstand my intentions, I just think we all respect Chef, he's done a lot for a lot of builders, and yeah he might have been a little quick to pull the trigger I get it but at the end of the day his intentions are also always for the best when it comes to the builders like you and me. So, no disrespect, I respect you, I just wanted to try to explain where Chef might be coming from and I don't think it's from an antagonistic place.

Well this was mostly a flop ... The concept is solid but I need another go at it to fix multiple execution issues.
1) To big to fit in any atomizer (lead to lead is approx 30mm lmao)
2) Major fusing issues on the clapton
3) Calculated wraps for a 3.5mm ID and wrapped it on a 3 so the seams are all f'd up. Plus the smaller ID makes it look all weird and thinned out.
Specs -
.2/32/42 ssfc
28/40 sfc

I'm not saying that your mods are shit I think they are super cool. I honestly think sometimes intentions are lost in translation through typed word when you can't hear things like tone of voice and I think Chef was just saying "other stuff rather than building", and in your defense you gave the disclaimer that you were aware that it wasn't a build post, I understand you were just trying to share something nice with us, it was just one post not 8 posts. I totally understand what you are saying. Only to play Devil's advocate, I think some of us builders have PTSD from tangents people have gone on in this special place that only people in our know can really appreciate, I think we're all afraid of it becoming a lost art with all the new MTL innovations like the Juul and whatever other devices that taste like dogshit that 19 year old kids that are too lazy and dumb to build buy because they don't have any attention span what so ever, and we all want to protect it. Again to only play Devil's advocate the title of this thread is Post Your Builds and while I wouldn't have worded the comment the same way, or even made a comment at all, I understand the necessity to retain as many good builders as we can including yourself and that does become hard to do when everyone just starts posting everything about building everywhere. Aside from Instagram, this is really the Meca of coil building. I know there are levels to this art form and I'm certainly not on the very top level but I'm aware enough to know, through talking to a lot of other vapers, that the vast majority of them cannot and will never be able to do what you and I do. I've had to let a lot of shit roll off my back, again his intentions weren't to attack you as a person. The criticism wasn't worded eloquently but in Chef's defense it's not what people come to this particular thread to see. If every person that visited this thread posted a non building related topic post once a week this wouldn't be THE builders thread on THE single largest and best vaping forum on the planet IMO. I know Chef personally and I promise you he is not a bad guy, or a mean guy, he's built for literally some of the most influential builders on this forum before THEY even knew how to build so he could possibly be more sensitive to the issue because he's been there to see the builders come and go and honestly so have I. No one wants you to go anywhere. We want you to post your builds. I'm not saying it's always the case but when someone posts something eye catching other than building it can start an avalanche of conversation of people talking to each other in their own little microcosms and that completely breaks up the momentum of the build posting and then some people get discouraged and just stop posting all together and that hurts everyone. I'm not criticizing you at all, I'm just explaining the way others may or may not feel about it. At the end of the day I very much want you to stick around and be part of the building family that is left cause you have ability and we absolutely need builders just like you. I hope that makes sense.

Honestly ... I don't know :giggle:

My guess is for the same reason some person needed to know the distance from our galaxy to the next. Or why someone would climb to the top of Mt. Everest. Or why Gene Krupa would add a million ghost strokes on every song that no1 ever would hear.

Because I'm curious. Because it's interesting. Because it's fun. Because I want to see if I can. :D

Jeez...

Meanwhile, I went back in time and built this.

Brand-new glossy black Vertitas RDA. It has much room for wide shit, like a 12-wrap 3mm 28AWG Ni200 build.

Is it perfect? Fuck no, it doesn't need to be, it's Nickel.

Yup, it's all bendy to fit and have sufficient clearance from the insulator and good AF postion. Also, to create the 'bend' in the long leg so it don't short. Old trick, still works.

A half-sheet of cotton works nice.

Was going for 0.2, close enough.

Grok this...ringlets are nifty.
(I was using a bit too much power for show there, thus the glowed long-leg wire...it was remedied. Coil itself was fine.)

Slapped a old black ceramic DT in there and it's awesome.
Flavor is unreal. And it don't look half bad either. ;)

Yes!! I've never vaped N200. I should pick some up and try it out :D I like Nickel based alloys much better than Kanthal or Steel.

Man, I haven't vaped Ni200 in like 4 years or so. Back then temp controlwas really kinda inconsistent, but still required it. Maybe I'll try it again one day in the future. Who knows, maybe I'll pick up some Ni200 sometime and try it out again :)

I just flat out gave up on trying to get a good shot of the contrasting alloys. Will have try again on another day with another build.
On the plus side this build gave a great display of the N80 color range. Figured I'd throw it out there ...
And now on to something else. Feeling a wide build next.

Yeah man, I picked up a 25' roll of Ni200 for like $1.
Figured some of my older mods could benefit as most of those early TC mods use Nickel for TC. Still prefer SS316L and N80 though for general use.

I figured out how to lock the TC resistance on the Wye, that makes a world of difference too. :)

I vaped Kanthal exclusively from 2012-2018. So I missed the "glory days" of Nickel TC :giggle: ... And by the time I ventured into TC I had already found that I couldn't make it hit like I wanted, at least with SS316. It always feels like I want a bit more than it gives me. But, truth be told, I haven't really dug hard into it to see if I can make it work for me. Just played around with it a bit. It's on the list of things to do eventually lol

Wanted to throw something on my squonker ... decided to give the Pixie another round since I only ever used it a couple of times.
And man it's been quite a while since I did a multi-round-core fused clapton. For those of you progressing .... Aliens are easier. You wont believe that at first. But once you master them you'll realize that the form on the alien wrap actually helps keep the cores parallel. Standard claptons want to cause collapse so much more often, even with super light fuse tension. I hardly ever have to break out the nylon pliers for aliens anymore. But I was pinching every 1/2 inch on this stick. If I'm going to pinch that often anyways I might as well do a SFC for a better vape lol
3x28 Ni80, 40 SS316L, 2.5mm ID, .3 ohms
And I remember now .... should have done 30g cores. 3x28 is a little warm for this tiny atty.

I'm still not sure about this atty. The airflow is just right in that range that is to loose for my prefered MTL (which is OG Kayfun Lite almost completely closed off or Berzerker on the smallest whole ... aka tighter than a gnats ass) and to tight for a nice big DL ( I Like a slightly restricted hit i.e. LiT, Rebirth, DPRO). I spent some time in this range, on my G2, and I remember enjoying it. I may put some time in on this thing and see if I can remember how to vape like this lol. Probably drop to 30g cores and Ni80 wrap to cool it down some first.

finally starting to get the aliens down. Still need some work but getting there
Nice! Looks like you got it!! Those hiccups will haunt you throughout the majority of your building ... even when everything feels perfect. Yes, you can mitigate the majority of that through practice. But sometimes you can't ... sometimes it's imperfections in the wire, sometimes it's the tiniest tension mishap while making the decore, sometimes it's because the wrap catches funny when decoreing it. 'Uh-ohs' wont happen every time, and after a while not even very often, but they will pop up so be ready lol.

I had to make another set but still some inconsistencies
Yah you've got it man.
The inconsistant spacing could be 1 of 2 things.
The obvious one is fuse angle, which is also directly affected by drill hand tension and fuse hand tension. All 3 of these things work in tandem to dictate how the fuse hits the cores. If all 3 are consistent then the spacing will be consistent.
The not-so-obvious, and something it took me a long time to figure out, is the wrapping process (aka coiling it up). If your not careful you can easily slide the fuse wire around on the cores while working with it post-fuse. Just be mindful while working with your finished stick ;)

Keep at it. your doing great :D
