Best MTL coil?

I haven't seen this question in a while. Lately, I have noticed a few sales where a stick style battery kit costs less than the tank by itself. I have also noticed an increase in options for MTL vapers. I'm more like a Resistant Lung Hitter. So browsing these kits, I don'tknowwhat to try. There's about 3 that are under $20 I have seen The BSKR has a prebuilt coil, the Armor NS WS04 from Wismec, and the Z coil from Innokin.

I'm still using the 2 Nautilus tanks Igot like 5 years ago. I used 1 back up glass. Last year I got a Triton 2 because I found a sale on coils for like $2 or something but they end up being like .2 ohms. I did find a cray sale on the 1.8 ones for like $5 but I don't use them much. I got some Nautilus 2 but they aren't much different tasting than the first, a little richer tome but I Like the big tank when I'm stuck on a flavor. The 2 when I'm switching.
?
That's my MTL bio what's yours? How do you vape? What did you start with? What have you used? What are you considering? What's your favorite? Any to stay away from?

My forest mtl tank (aside from theold silica wick cartomizer) was an og Nautilus. Was a great tank actually. Now I have a Gas Mods Nixon rdta with a traditional 26/32 clapton in it at 1.0Ω. Awesome mtl flavor build. Just an amazing 18mg mtl all day long. Just phenomenal flavor. Mom is even vaping the same coil in a SMM Serpent tank with the airflow closed down to mtl status and she's loving it. Think I'll build a 28/38g clapton for the next build for them though.

I haven't built much since I first switched from an EGO to a Eleaf 30w or something. It was when the Kanger Subtank very first came out. I learned by taking apart the RTA and a couple Youtube vids. People were mostly only changing the size, gauge and number of wraps. I never got the wicking right and I had major leakage sometimes likely because of how it was wicked. After floundering around a while I got a Nautilus and never looked really built again.. It's a shame too because I was getting into mod building videos. They look not too hard to build depending on the material for the box or tube or whatever.

Is thee a pre built coil set up that you used to use or sometimes use? What do you think of the Berserker?

I don't use prebuilt coils at all anymore actually. The Berserker looks like a good rta. I have the rda actually. It's a nice, Right mtl draw and great flavor. I also have the Nixon rdta and that thing is easy to build, but it's best on a squonker. The fill hole is really tiny so not so great as a regular tank. Honestly the only mtl prebuilt coil tank I ever used was the original Nautilus. Was a great tank, but once I started building I quit buying coils and there isn't a rba for it sadly. If there was, I would so buy it.

I still enjoy ribbon nichrome with silica. I’m so old school.
silica? lol...what a maroon, as bugs bunny would say.....but I think I may have you beat I still vape genisis atomizers with ss mesh wicks.....and hunt for saber tooth tigers....I think you maybe the only guy left still vaping silica...
my first rebuildable was a genisis with a ss mesh wick, and I've tried out all sorts of other rebuildable atomizers, and all sorts of wicking materials....but I have always come back to gennys.

This was a very educational post. I was under the impression that mesh was a recent innovation. I have recently see a surge in it's popularity. It seems just about every pre build brand has a mesh option now and I don't remember seeing that in any brand I bought until last year. I haven't tried many. Again, I'm talking about something totally different in a factory coill.

Say, Is mesh easier to set than a coil? Reading this thread, I might take a shot at building again. Ihave a couple already, I just need to get my coil game in order..

what you are talking about is mesh being used as the coil of a build, and cotton as the wick..... when I say ss mesh I am talking about using ss mesh as the wick of the build and kanthal our some other wire for the coil

So far what I am seeing is people end up preferring to build. When I switched from the EGO with a box full of CE4s, ViVi Novas, and others, I got a Eleaf 60 or something and a Subtank. I tried rebuilding that for a while but I never mastered it. They always leaked or didn't wick or something

I got kind inspired to build something after seeing how people prefer it. I got a "Wraith" squonker kit. I'm not sure if the RDA is the same name. I just used the coils that came with it and some Cotton Bacon I had laying around. I got it working well but it'snot quite an improvement yet. I think a larger single coil may work better. I am getting a wish list together to take online. I'll try a few different sizes and set ups but I have noted what I read here... .

since I posted earlier.I got a Berserker but it's a BZKR something like that. It takes a factory cail head. You can only get it as a kit with a little stick battery. I don't think it's even adjustable, but it cost the price of just a tank $20 or something. I like it, but I won't be buying coils for it after this one. I have too many boxes of the ones I been using. I would say that the air flow in that one is barely adjustable if at all and it's open enough to get a Restricted Lung Hit also..

The Berzerker mtlrta is great. I only have the rda, but the rta is good too. Can put a 28/38 clapton coil in it and have an amazing mtl vape. I rock that same coil in my Gas Mods Nixon v1 rdta and am loving every second that I vape it.

On the forums, I have noticed more people going for the rdtas.

Is it totally taster's choice or are there any particular MTL tanks that are preferred by most?

Do you ever post pics of your builds? I always like to see what people are doing. I hadn't built one thing since 2015 or so. I did one a couple days ago and it was semi passable. The RDA (Wraith) has 2 posts so I had the coils sharing post holes. Is that Kosher? I made the micro coils too long.so it iis low Ohm but small coil and wick, That made it so it has to get too hot for the cotton size.

I am literally online searching the sales for a couple buildable tanks. Someone mentioned a Genesis tank. I only found a knockoff Genesis "type" but I'm ready to level up and build. That's like vaping level 3. Level one is cigalikes/EGOs then Sub Ohm/Box Mod, then you start building. Toplevel is one of those $1,000 Mech Mods with the gold plated RDA. In reality though, the Mechs are the actual Level 1 mod. As in that is all there was in the beginning

I heard about people using flash lights back in the day..

That is correct, thereason we call call a vape device a mod is because they were originally modified flashlights, pipes, guitar pedal boxes and such. Crazy times back then, although I wasn't vaping yet.

The pic is for a 28/38 Kanthal a1 coil. Came out to 1.4Ω. I either make my own coils or use ones from other builders on VU. I never buy premade coils on sites. The rdta is a Gas Mods Nixon mtl rdta. It has a tight mtl draw and the flavorid's great. Theonly problem with it is that the fill whole is really small, so it is only really good on a squonk mod. There are many good mtl tanks though. The True (that is the actual name of the tank) mtl rta is a good way to go. The Berserker v1.5 is a really good one too. Watch some YouTube reviews on anything you are interested in buying before you pull the trigger, that's what I do. I watch lots of vids before I buy anything.

I hope this helps, and if you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to ask here or you caneven PM me if you like. The Post Your Bulls thread is another great place to ask around too. There are allot of good people that are great builders there. All of them have helped me allot, @Shredtravolta is a good friend of mine on there and he would gladly answer anything you might ask and give some great advice.
