I’ve Liked 2 Out Of The 40 + Juices I’ve Tried

Is this a normal ratio or should I just admit that vaping might not be for me? I initially assumed smoking had wrecked my taste buds to the point that I wasn’t getting the true flavor, but as the title says, there are 2 juices (a pineapple upside down cake and strawberry pudding flavored juice) that taste absolutely delicious to me, so how is it I can taste those just fine? Also, I have zero issues with tasting foods, so I am starting to doubt my proposed “smoker’s tongue” is fully the culprit here.

The amount of money I’ve spent trying new juices is insane, and I can’t keep this up. I know I can just stick to these two juices, but we’ll see how long it is before I’m sick of them.

Every berry or fruit flavored juice tastes like perfume, lemon flavored juices taste like Lysol, cinnamon flavors are disgustingly bitter, and I tried some of those Milkman juices and almost vomited.

I guess at this point I’m just curious to see if anyone else has had the same run of bad luck finding delicious flavors as me. Funny how I love everything about vaping (collecting beautiful mods and tanks, doing builds on decks, wicking) except the actual vaping. I’m here staring at a $200 box mod and $100 tank while I’m still puffing away on a JUUL because at least it doesn’t make me want to throw up.

Pardon the rant...vape on brothers and sisters...

I have the same issue with virtually all commercial ejuice on the chemically/perfumy taste.
I also have the same issue with many flavoring used in DIY.
I have been 100% DIY for close to 4 years, nearly as long as I have been vaping.
I too was temped to give up on vaping but found a few DIY mixes that worked for me and hung in there.
I have the additional issue of actually having an allergic reaction to many juices/flavorings.
Oral, throat and even lung irritation.

One thing you could try is the natural flavorings, not artificial.
That is what I used for a while until I found a few regular flavorings that I could use.
The natural flavorings require a higher percentage of flavoring than the artificial flavorings but are good.

Capella Vanilla custard V1 is what saved me :)
If you like a tobacco vape the Hangsen RY4 and desert ship flavorings are good and not offensive.

I sympathize. Although, when I first began vaping years ago, I liked almost every juice I tried. It was only over time that I began to have the same reaction as yours, though it never went as far as wanting to puke LOL.
I agree with the comments about diy, though I'm only just really now getting into it.
I also vape half the time with unflavored. NETs around 40%. The rest of the time I'm fooling around with whatever.

You hit some buttons for me @The Cromwell. That perfumey taste is completely obnoxious.
I'm very curious and would be happy to have you share, if you're willing, which of the DIY flavorings you either have issues with, and which of the ones you don't. (I'm just getting back into DIY, and mixed an RY4 recipe solely of FA flavors and was stunned to get the perfume.)
Isn't the Capella v1 the one with the bad stuff, or am I mis-remembering?
I got the Hangsen RY4 not long ago, but haven't tried it yet.
These are probably too many questions for one post. LOL.

Ahh for RY4 no one beats Hangsen
all of the Hangsen tobacco flavors are nice.
Going to try some of their fruits and such.

I also use a lot of Capella Vanilla Custard V1. V2 is yech taste of bile, all of the V2 flavorings do that to me.
Capella Cinnamon danish swirl. Just a bit of it with some VC V1 is tasty.
I have had my best luck with the Capella flavorings.

I was totally unable to find an artificial melon flavoring that did not taste overly of chemicals or perfume.

dan, you are doing better than i.
i'm finding 25% of juice i can enjoy, but i never taste the tastes they are supposed to be.
i won't bother with diy, since i taste no flavors, except for those that are disgusting.

When I first started vaping it was Tobacco and only Tobacco for me. It took me trying hundreds of flavors before I found one I could actually vape. Thankfully tasting bars were in all vape shops back then~! Once I found a fruit flavor I could stomach I was in heaven but saying I will never be vaping cereals, deserts or chocolates. But your tastes change and now at any given time I have 50-60 different flavors in stock and that is not counting the DIY. Good luck in your quest Dan and do not worry because once you slip into the rabbit hole of flavors you will keep falling in before you ever hit bottom.

Hey @The Cromwell I also really enjoy a good RY4, and I happen to have the Hangsen RY4, but never tried it.
Do you mix it with other flavorings or vape it alone, and if alone at what %?

I only did one bottle long ago and liked it but started making my own RY4 type juice with Hangsen Desert Ship, FW butterscotch,
And a few other ingredients.

2 out of 40...depending on who you buy from...that sounds about right....there is alot of good juices, but you will have to pay top dollar for them...I'm not willing to pay a dollar a ml for juice anymore.DIY is your best alternative or, become a wall street banker.

And also funny is that they sound good, but as with many others they max out at 6mg. I like 12mg, so my options ain't so great. Which is partly why I started to diy again.

pulse, who has top dollar juice?
i might try some, to see if i can tate anything.
there are alot of good juice makers...I just haven't bought anything from them in a couple of years...I was particularlly fond of N.E.T. juices so if you like tobacco juices...Black Note is very good.... a little on the subduded side for flavor, but easy on the coils...for kickass flavor www.NaturallyExtractedTobacco e-juices are very good..long ago I used to buy fruit flavored juices from a Company callled Drippeez, but I think they are out of bussiness...there are some good juices around but like I say they cost...besides my tastes seem to run in the oppisite direction of what most juice makers produce, so I make my own now to suit my tastes.

Ever tried unflavored juice? You get the mix of PG/VG you desire added to your nicotine if you use nicotine, or possibly CBD, no flavorings. I like using unflavored because there are many flavors I cannot taste, or taste "wrong". Also I might add one flavor at a light amount. For example I seem on a peppermint bender lately. A little peppermint in my unflavored max VG juice with 18 mg nicotine per ml of juice is yummy.

Yeah, only natural flavors work for me. I stick to natural tobacco extracts because the synthetics nauseate me.
If you are into fruit & tobacco flavors check this page out: https://www.real-tobacco-extract.com/tobacco/fruit-and-nut-tobacco-extracts
I like this one

I like some of the Flavorconcentrates.com's natural extracts. Excellent blueberry and their banana is great, but takes a long steep to shine.
I also have some tasty Black Raspberry natural extract. Do not care for regular blackberries or red raspoberries.
