I cringed with this the same as I cringed when Trump said something about state media to combat fake news.
& rightly so. The telling factor is which is seeking to silence alternative & which is not? Creating alternatives is not the same as silencing others.
My perception of what Trump is doing is pointing out the left controls a coordinated propaganda machine, encouraging the right to develop independent alternative & suggesting a State run media to disseminate information to both sides.
I agree, the left does control the flow of disinformation. Many on the left have no idea of a quarter of what is really going on. Yet I think people are waking up and are getting mad. Really mad as they hear more and more of the shinanigans going on in Washington. What worries me is no matter how well intention a move like this is, it can easily be turned into state propaganda. We see how free speech is ignored in many areas in America today. I would trust Trump but he would not be in office forever and a Democrat or Republican I do not trust with something of this magnitude. Thats why I cringed.

But it makes sense to foster the creation of a new private independent media on the right & left that is not a part of the current Mossad Media that currently exists on the Right & & Left that is beholden to foreign forces (that admittedly helped Trump win the office & countered the left propaganda media that was marching to the EU/UN/globalist tune) & establishing a government fact based information dissemination apparatus service beholden to the US Government Administration to disseminate to both sides. By the nature of who is in power, it will be recognized by both sides that the government dissemination may lean toward the party in power & it will be the responsibility of the independent to hold their feet to the flame. Thing is you have to build up an independent grass roots media base that has the voice to compete without relying on a Mossad Media power structure before you take steps to break up the media monopolies & legislate an end to foreign ownership of media in the US. (I post links to the Gateway Pundit all the time, but that doesn't mean I can't recognize that it is Mossad Media just like Drudge, Zerohedge, Breitbart, Etc or Alex Jones - They were necessary evils to take the country back, that does not mean we should rely on them when it comes time to curtail Israel's influence over our government. That is why Israel is last.
Infinitely better than the alternative of censorship & a strictly state run media as checks & balances theoretically will exist that somewhere in the middle of the partisan lies on both sides & the government the probable truth will be available for a Discerning member of the public to find. That never would have been the case had Hillary won.

They would have to control both houses in the state & the governorship to rescind or challenge & win in the State's Supreme court.
SCOTUS could also strike them nationwide if challenged there & won, which I think will occur before 2020 as it is a blatant attack on the Federal Electoral Process.
I don't like it at all, but I don't see it as unconstitutional. Article II, Section 1:
"Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors, equal to the whole Number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress"
Please explain why you think it's unconstitutional.
The states are allowed to cast their Electoral Votes however they like - mob, lottery, highest dollar, whatever.
EDIT: They do, however, have to comply with their own State Const. - which supposedly was ratified by congress ages ago.
That being said, it's just another crumbling brick in the wall that is the const/BOR: they've been deliberately and systematically attacking everything in the Const/BOR for years - and usually succeeding.
