Best Pre-Made Coils for Flavour (Dual and Single)

Parrish

Member For 1 Year
Hey guys! I cannot and will not for the life of me make my own coils, I just choose to live the easy life and buy pre-made coils. :xD:

That being said, I wanna hear other people's thoughts on what pre-made coils they think have the best flavors. I'd appreciate it if you guys would include a link on where to buy it, and hopefully on the cheaper side too!

Mostly looking for pre-made coils from 3fvape or Fasttech.

Thanks!

I buy SSFC, Kanthal Clapton, Alien Claptons, T Tracks and hive mainly.

The SSFC seem to be the ones I truly like. I buy the spooled wire but you can buy the premades also. Have you tried using the coil wrapping kit? It's super easy and great builds with no fuss.

An easy Kanthal twist or parallel can provide decent flavor as well. It's all subjective plus the atty that you use as well. I build mainly duals but have a few singles here that are just as good. :)

Why does it have to be 3FVape or FT? Cost? I really doubt you'll find any good coils there.

I tend to use only hand built coils, aliens and fraliens, from someone that builds them or
from https://www.advancedvapesupply.com/ that usually has a discount code. If you need help with what resistance(Ω) they are....

Could also put a WTB (want to buy) add, here in the hardware section.

No, I haven't tried the coil wrapping kit as I think it'll take too much time! I prefer to keep my vaping simple, and I know sub ohm tanks will keep it that way, but I also wanna get as much flavor as I can, hence me turning to RTAs! But dang, that's kind of overwhelming... Different tanks, have different coils that bring out their best flavour? I'd have to try so many then :(

It would cost US resident to send to Canada a small padded envelope $20 USD? IDK that's why I'm asking. I think a letter is about $1.50

Envelopes are different than actual packages with items inside. Plus the conversion as well.

Also, sometimes they go by weight.. I just checked and 10 pre-made coils are $10 USD and a shipping fee of $9.98.. That's about $20USD which is $26CAD... Now what's ridiculous is a 10 pack pre-made coils that costs $26.

If they are hand made it really good for 2.60 each. But at $10 for 10 it's going to be the cheap Chinese crap wire machine made coils no matter who you buy them from, which is a complete waste of money>even if they were a nickle a piece. A quality coil will last many times longer than those, make better flavor, and a lot nicer vape. Do yourself a favor and search around in the Hardware section. I think someone is sending coils for donations, and another is trading theirs for gear/juice, and more...
Did you check Advanced Vape supply? They have SS aliens for a reasonable price.

I bought one of the coil variety packs off Amazon Prime for $13, came with 8 different types of coils and you got 6 of each kind so 48 coils total. I think they were Demon Killer brand. I thought twisting my own coils would be in a pain too but I can wrap a set of wire coils in less than 2min now and I easily spend more time wicking than anything else lol.

I did a set of coils tonight less than 5 minutes total. Wicking takes me longer. The coil jig kit makes it super easy to do. We're no longer in the days of using a screwdriver anymore.

I just don't trust many premades from China myself nor want the huge cost of two coils being $15. Wire spool can last me forever.

Are you in the states or Canada? I will have a few Canadian friends around me in March that I can send some coils up. I know it's in March but I'm willing to make you up plenty that will last. Not sure how customs is on shipping and what have you. I could mail out as well. :)

Oh wow, that fast? I might get into it then.. Maybe a couple months from now though, haha. And oh my goodness, that is so kind of you! I’m in Canada, and I wouldn’t mind to pay you for the shipping and work/coils that you do for it!

Update: I’m rocking a Fused Clapton right now on one of my dead rabbit RTA, and I think its the best flavour by far with the other 3 rtas/rdas I have! :D It’s the last pair that I got on the variety of coils I bought off a person though, hopefully the other coils will taste as good, if not better!

Invest some money and pick up an Avid Artisan Daedalus kit. With that you can make fused claptons inexpensively and quickly. It will pay for itself in no time. You can make coils you can't buy. The coils I make and use in everything noone else makes and you obviously can't buy anywhere.

I use fused claptons in my dead rabbit and the flavor is noticeably better. I go for around .15 ohms at 75w and it's phenomenal. It burns the juice up but whatever. When you DIY a bottle of juice for around $2-$3, it ain't no thang.

I dont quite understand coils and their wires, but what do you think about (especially flavor wise) a Fused Clapton Coil with the following:
  • Kanthal A-1 / Ni80 Nichrome
  • 0.45 ohms each (+/-.03)
    • Kanthal Core: 2 x 28 Gauge
    • Ni80 Wrap: 32 Gauge

Sounds ok and I'm sure people with much more expertise than I will chime in, but I feel it would be much better with 36g or 38g wrap.

Just send me a message over in what you like. I don't mind at all. It's super easy to do and after about a month of vaping years back I started to build. I was apprehensive at first but after my first two builds it was quite easy.
I run different builds here so whatever you think you'll like just let me know along with the ohm range you like. :)

I usually only buy SS or Kanthal here. 26g 32. One poster said 36 but I've kept mine at 32. It's a each person is different on that. I find my best flavor on SS but Kanthal is one I cannot put down after vaping on builds since 2012 or 13ish.

I can build different ones and see what you like. The Ni80 I've not really splurged into buying. I guess I've been very happy with what I had. :)

As you can see there is no one size fits all. We all have our own preferences. None of them is wrong. Unfortunately it's going to take some trial and error to find your sweet spot.

Yeah sort of learned that the hard way when I was still into tanks and was frustratingly going tanks after tanks just to find what I like! So much money spent on trial and error, but eh, I guess it’ll be cheaper now since coils dont cost $30+ :D

Yeah most of us have been or still are there. Honestly for many of us the saving money is a myth. We end up spending the "saved" money on more toys. Like an addict chasing that "perfect" vape. For many it becomes a hobby in and of itself.

I look at the money I'm saving on building coils, staying away from the analogs and now DIY juice as a reward to buy more toys! Sure we can use tanks and mods over and over but treating yourself from staying away from analogs is my reward and still save money! :)

I'll start this off by saying nothing beats hand made coils. Most of the people that build use good wire and make them with love. Lol just like mama's cookin'. For pre mades-

I like Wotofo's newer coils (All N80). The Stapled Claptons work really good for me. They have two versions of the regular Fused Claptons. Both are good. I also have the three core Fused Claptons, Braided, and Juggernaut. I haven't tried those yet.

Geekvape makes some good coils too. They're way better than Demon Killer. The Twisted Claptons are awesome. Also they got something called 2 in 1 kits. The coils are pretty decent, whatever you get. I like the N80 Fused Clapton sets.

Vandy Vape is another Chinese brand that does coils a little better than most. They have tons of options.

Stick to those three brands if shopping Chinese coils. You have to try different styles until you can identify what you like. There are a bunch of different styles and wire types.

Tell me about it! So far I had the chance to set my hand on an alien, a tpriv, nunchaku, voopoo drag, kaos spectrum, switcher LE, mag, and some more! Luckily I didnt have to be stuck with them as I bought it around when there was a fad with vaping and I was able to sell them locally. Now I’m looking to buy a voopoo drag 2, or an ijoy shogun, or maybe a 7 color tesla punk too just for fun! But now I’m wondering where the heck I’d sell my old mods o_O

Stay away from Voopoo Drag 2....My paint is terrible on mine! Now having an issue with charging if I'm out and about. A good Smoant or the like will be worth it vs anything Voopoo...Eek!

I’m into the resin mods though :/ Have you had the original voopoo drag? How’s that paint for you?

I have the original and the paints fine, but it also doesn't see the light of day very often. Too many mods I like more.

Paint had an issue with the Drag original for many. Mine never was in my purse, pocket etc before chipping/flaking. Now it's my trash mod. Well, this week it's not even that if I can't charge it on the go. A few had good luck but not many. There's a new one on Dueces Jack's youtube he just put out last night that has the basic same colors as Voopoo came out with and also resin on both sides. I'd go that route before Voopoo if I was in the market for one. It's the Drag 2 killer!! :)

I get great flavor from parallels. 26 agw ss 316. As previous mentiined subjective but IMO can not beat the price of a spool and a jig. IDK $20ish equals 30ish coils, maybe more.

Go to aliexpress, safe shopping, free shipping, lowest prices. A lot of good premade colis, wire, and all the e cig gear you need. I have used both handmade coils with the best wire quality, and chinese wire, and premade coils. My mouth can not taste the expensive wire to taste better than chinese wire. And they who say quality wire last longer, well you get ten chinese coils of good quality for the price of one western made,so you can change more often. I have used Aliexpress for many years now, and have never lost my money. Top service and safe. I can not say the same about e bay.

Where do you get SSFC spooled wire?! I've been looking to get this for quite some time now!

My favorite so far is the hex core clapton wire from AVS. I imagine they have prebuilt hex core coils as well. I like that they don't get too hot or require crazy wattage. I vape a dua coil .11ohm build (3mm 6 wrap) at 110w.

They have a 30g wire core a 40g wrap so it keeps the heat down and the ramp up time quick for a hex core clapton.

Good point on the parallel coils as well. I used to do spaced parallel coils and the ramp up time and flavor is really good. It's comparable to claptons and yet takes less power with quicker ramp up. Dense clouds and flavor. Not AS good as as claptons for flavor but the convenient ramp up can't be beat! I liked SS best at 25g.
