Hope all of you have a safe and happy new year!

Sorry to hear about the BS, but remember what they say it can always get worse~!

Happy New Year and I come home to find out the compressor in Dad's O2 Generator went bad so I am spending the first hours of 2019 waiting for the company to bring a new one. Have him on the portable now and have enough tanks for many hours. But I was planning on being in bed with the sleep timer on the TV set.........

Well nice service man came, delivered a total new unit 1/2 hour after I called. So now I can have a glass of wine and relax. Hopefully the rest of the year goes as smooth and easy~!

Thanks all for the well wishes. I think this is going to be a better year.. The things that have occurred have happened for a reason, the way I look at it. Maybe it was time for me to close that chapter of life and begin a new one. The last week or so, I have felt better than I have felt in a very, very long time.. I mean decades. I feel like my body has finally begun to accept the new pipes and I am recovering at a faster rate. Work-outs are longer, and more strenuous and I barely start breathing heavy. At the end of my session yesterday they checked my vitals when I finished the workout and my blood pressure was 112 / 70 and my O2 saturation was an amazing 100%... This is what I have been fighting for the last year; the whole ordeal was worth every second of it and I would do it again if I had to.

Anyway, I appreciate you guys keeping up with my story. Ironic that I'm no longer able to vape and yet I still post, but this particular forum is kind of a place where nobody knows I post. This place is sort of my journal of sorts.

P.S. - I finally got around to getting all my old gear together. I will be cleaning it up soon and probably selling the whole lot. i will post a list of what I have. I'm sure a lot of it is out-dated now days, but it's not bad stuff.

I doubt if anyone here cares if you vape or not... that you're still breathing is kinda miraculous, and though I don't even really know you, I'm really glad you are! Great to hear how healthy you're getting!!!

ETA: On the subject of old vape gear you'll be selling... if you have any tight-draw RDAs, I'd be VERY interested!!! I'm a real archaic vaper myself. :D

I think this is amazing...I think you're amazing, much respect <3
We're all family here, doesn't matter if you vape or not. It's the common denominator that brought us together, that's all. It warms my heart to read of your miraculous progress and thank you for keeping us posted.

I have a few RDA's and tanks but none are super tight on the draw (though some are adjustable). The one (it's a tank) with the tightest draw I have is probably my Cthulhu v2, with the single coil deck installed. The only problem is they can be quite finicky and can leak on you if not assembled just right. When you get used to it though, it is a very nice vape. I will be getting them all cleaned up in the next few days and will compile a list along with the mods I have. It's not a gigantic collection but I'd rather move it here where I know people will appreciate the stuff.

As far as myself, I am still doing really well. Actually the last couple of PFT's (Pulmonary Function Tests) I did produced better than the numbers I could muster before the transplant. I have been spending some time with others that are either pre-transplant or just recently transplanted to at least share with them what to expect along the way physically, mentally, and financially. I talked with my rehab trainers about speaking in some of their support groups for people that are considering transplant due to the severity of their various conditions. Anything I can do to help answer anyone's questions or concerns along the way, I'm all for it. I get up every day, and I thank my donor. I'll never meet that young man in person but nonetheless he saved my life and I will be forever thankful for it.

I hiked almost 3 miles last weekend on some fairly hilly land. Had no real trouble breathing or anything; my legs got tired before my lungs did.. lol.. I have also been able to resume doing yard work and cut my front and back lawn last week. It doesn't seem like much but was a pretty big thing for me since I have physically been unable to do that for almost 3 years prior... Of course, being in Louisiana it's ready to cut again after only a week..

Again, thank you all. As has been mentioned, nobody here knew me much as I was a pretty new poster comparatively speaking when all of this happened. I'm not even sure why I picked this forum to share my journey throughout all of this. There are many other places I could have done it, but this one seemed like the place. I still am a vaping proponent and would recommend it still to anyone who is looking to get away from cigarettes. I often miss being able to partake in what I found to be a great hobby. Just because I can't do it anymore doesn't change the appreciation I have for it and what it has done for me.

Back for my 6 month check-in. I'm still alive and kicking, and trying to get back in the work force. The new lungs are working and I am trying to improve them on a daily basis. I walk a mile a day at a 5 degree incline at therapy and I do 3 miles a day on the arm bike. When I was fresh out of surgery I could barely walk 3 minutes on the treadmill before I had to stop, I guess that's progress. I hope everyone here is doing well. See ya around!

What she said! :D Really glad your health is so much better!!! You might not be a vaper anymore, but i wonder if maybe becoming a vaper was what gave you a chance to get better -- if you'd stayed a smoker, you might not have gotten that chance. Just one of those things that make you go hmmmmm... :)

SO... remember somewhere in my long winded posts I said something about, "don't ever think it can't get any worse"... well apparently a lot of people started thinking that at some point early this year, and BOOM! Look whatcha got...2020!! I told you! :p

Na seriously, I hope everyone is doing well through all this mess. I am still kicking... Not in quite as good of shape as my last post since my therapy sessions have been indefinitely postponed. I manage though; the grand-kids give me plenty off exercise. Otherwise, I must say the transplant prepped me for all this stuff ahead of time. All the hand-washing and social distancing, mask-wearing stuff?? I been doing that a couple years before all this kicked off.. Welcome to transplant life..

Once again, hope you all are doing ok through all of this... See ya around the holidays for my next check-in..
