Which one? REULEAUX RX2 20700 or SMOANT CYLON

Getting a new mod to wear new DR RTA and just because I can. Only non squonk or tube mods I have id the Drag and I really don't like it. I've narrowed it down to these two because they offer the space to wear larger RTA's and RDA's as I'm hoping to explore those in the future.

I’m not even going to save that and attach it because I don’t want to see it pop up in my camera roll.

I just want to draw your attention to the design. Both in terms of aesthetics and ergonomics. It’s as though it was designed by an absolute moron with no sense of proportions, balance, let alone elegance. Frankly I think Smoant owes the vaping community an explanation of exactly how their “designer” got the job in the first place. Heck there aren’t two lines that meet on the darn thing.

If I appreciate good design, see VooPoo Alpha One, I have an equal amount of abject hatred for poor design.

Everything about this and every other Smoant product I’ve seen so far drives me up the wall. And yet they price their units as though they were “high end”.

I wouldn’t accept it if Smoant gave me 100$ to take it off their hands. Maybe for $1000 I’d accept it and livestream it being barbecued in a thermite fire.

I am literally offended by how ugly Smoant products are. Matter of fact I’m going to email them, demand a n explanation, and post their reply right here.

Brb.

**edit, they were onto something with the Battlestar, but ruined the purity of the form with the unnecessary patterns on the battery door. They remind me of flame decals on a ‘96 civic

Since you are so mortally "offended" by the aesthetics of Smoant products I'm going to guess you've never used/owned one and hence have no experience to add as to how they actually function. Thank fully there's many products from which we can all chose something that appeals to each of us.

I personally don't like the look of the Voopoo Alpha one. Makes me think I'd be vaping on a Nintendo as that's what it reminds me.

Thank you for your opinion.

BTW if $50 is high end then you must get out more. I know that "high end" is subjective to what someone consider's high end but I can't imagine confusing anything made by Smoant, Voopoo, or Wismec with anything high end.

Whatever makes you happy and keeps you away from cigarettes good Sir.
Not a daily used mod, sits most of the time but it definitely does the job. As far as you question I don't own either so all I can add is a Good luck with your search.

If I could vape on a classic NES or a period ONKYO amplifier, believe me I would.

I was discussing the matter of your Cylon mod on the VU forum with some discerning gentlemen and ladies, when it came to my attention that every single Smoant product I have seen has an absolutely cacophonous, miserable looking design. There is nor harmony nor flow between the different parts, the buttons, the display, each one is arbitrarily shaped and dimensioned, and more random than the last. The naboo, the Charon, the Cylon all make me want to cry as though I’ve lost my lover when I gaze upon them. Feel my chagrin.

Kindly explain how you hired your “designer”. On behalf of the vaping community, I hereby ask the for a formal explanation. What former work experience and qualifications did this individual possess before entering service as the “designer” for Smoant. Please provide his or her name and contact details so we may conduct our due diligence and righteously report this charlatan to the United Nations for crimes against humanity.

I, myself was recently perusing the market for a dual battery squonking modus, and whilst I acquiesce your Battlestar is clearly better looking than your Cylon, I fail to understand the need for the garish embellishment on the battery door. Why it is akin to vinyl flame decals on a 1998 Honda Civic DX. It ruins the appearance of the mod completely. A simple, smooth design would have been far better, but alas. I decided on a Gbox, produced by GeekVape, a private concern, and though it lacks your Battle-Star’s squonkification button apparatus, the GBox does indeed have a comparatively elegant, smooth physiognomy, and a well engineered bottle connection system.

*puffs on pipe haughtily.

Now then, we demand that you fire your designer post haste and without severance, and sue him or her for damaging your company image in an appropriate court of law. It is our understanding that the Communist party of China has re-education camps that may be appropriate for such an individual.

If you care to inspire yourself from design icons, perhaps refer to the VooPoo Alpha One, a design so beautiful that it has won several awards, and is sold out everywhere at the time of writing. Similarly, SMOK’s excellent MAG is the most ergonomic mod ever made. It is comfortable, perfectly weighted, has an impeccable fit and finish, and is the reference for ergonomics in the vaping industry today. Lost Vape’s Drone is another example of a fine device that I do believe I would part with several shillings in order to acquire. It is my understanding that that particular design moistens the tender nether regions of nubile young women, often requiring the subsequent application of smelling salts. Such is the price one pays for good design, sir. You would do well to take a page out of their playbook, so to speak.

Please notify us at VU what Smoant intends to do to correct this déplorable situation. We await your reply.

Good day.

My mistake, I mistakenly remembered is costing 120 or so.

I can't personally speak to the Cylon, but Smoant has come up with some really good products. You can never go wrong with a Releaux though. It's a tried and true product. It really all depends on the way you like to vape. Good luck with the conundrum though. You really can't go wrong with either one.

Man, I rocked the RX200 when it first came out :giggle:

The connectors were wonky, but they never failed

I think the Cylon looks good. as does the Battlestar. I almost bought both of them.

The Battlestar is pretty decent tbh, I’d buff off the strange pattern on the battery door and call it a day.

Then GeekVape slashed the price on the GBox in half and I couldn’t very well say no to that.

Ruleaux’s design is decent, actually. I don’t hate it. Plus, it’s a DNA mod, which is nice.

Smoant Cylon has much more features than wismec mods and also does TC alright too if that's your thing. For the price Smoant mods are pretty good. You won't be disappointed if you go with that.
I've been hit an miss with Wismec. My rx200s is years old and still functions but recently I got a luxotic bf mod and it now auto fires. Out of them go for the Cylon for sure. It's actually one of the mods I suggest to people if they don't wanna spend much but still want quality :)

so, what did you decide ?

I have a line on a discounted SXMini. if I don't get that, I am going to take a hard look at getting a Cylone.

Placed an order for Reuleaux RX GEN3 DUAL last night. Once I saw it with a 3mm atty on it my mind was made up.

I love my tiny gen3 dual mod. P.S. I got the kit and I think the gnome king tank with mesh coils is very underrated. It's great.

So I was going thru my mods and found out I do indeed own a Reuleaux RX2 21700 that came with a Gnome tank also.
Must not of used it or it didn't leave much of a impression. :giggle: My guess is the form factor and lack of TC. I was using a lot of TC back then.
Guess I should decide what I want to do with it. LMAO
