Mesh Wick (video how to)

I saw this video and thought this was super cool. I was thinking it would be hard to get it working with a squonker as I imagine the juice wouldn't travel up the wick like it does with cotton.

However on the majority of my RDAs I can flood the juice well to the coil without juice coming out of the airholes so I guess problem solved. I wanna try this though. Seems like the ultimate flavor wick!

I've always liked Qorax's reviews and vids, though haven't seen any for a while.

I bought some stainless mesh probably a year or two ago, and LOL it's still sitting in its cute little plastic baggie.
I'll have to try it soon, hopefully! I'll post back if I can get off my lazy butt and do it.

Mesh can't wick as fast as cotton, but mesh delivers much better flavor, than cotton. there are a couple of squonk atties designed to be used with mesh...my favorite is the Nextera by VWM, there is also the Pole dancer, but you can use mesh in alot of different squonk atties...this a Build I use for a few of my squonkers...

mesh is a great wick...about the only kind I use anymore... but for my money the ultimate flavor wick is porous ceramic.they are just too expensive and delicate.

There are some new and "trending" mesh rda's made for squonkers. I have one on the way (slow boat)...
Some vapers I've known for a long time say these things are awesome.

Wotofo Profile and the Digiflavor Mesh Pro are the two I've been hearing about.

Those are designed for mesh coils....not mesh wicks.

This uncle is glorious. How did I not know about Qorax?

So tempted to pick up some SS mesh and try this tomorrow.

And bloody dangerous. Read the studies the Chinee have done on porous ceramic. Some ceramic compounds contain lead. Also the ceramic has a tendency to break down and its dust can wind up lodged in your lungs.

No bueno.

I got a Profile today. It’s really good. Wondering if mesh on mesh would be any good. Tempted to try.

I have, and I don't find Aluminum Oxide wicks to present a bloody danger...I suggest like any other vaping development people do their own research for themselves and come to their own conclusions.

I was just thinking about this as well. Just stuff a ton of mesh wick under it and you should be good. I can't see how you would get a dry hit or anything that would negatively affect the flavor.

You should try it and report back! Maybe make a mesh oval wick instead for this.

Meshception!

I’ll order some and try it in the new year.

Happy holidays meshers!

Where did you get a mesh sheet like the one that's in the video?
I came upon a sheet of ss mesh at a local vape store , the clerk gave it to me because it was sent to them in error and it is not something they sell readily . it did take some research and a LOT of errors . I'm not any type of guru on the subject .

Mesh slug wicks are great in RDA’s for flavor testing DIY juice as well, just dry burn, rinse and repeat, no rewicking.

How about this one? About to pull the trigger.

Wonder if it's an issue that it's SS316 and not necessarily SS316L?

There is no generic mesh to use in building a mesh wick...mesh wicks are almost exclusively used in genisis atomizers and though not everything is transferable from using mesh in a genisis to other attys somethings do crossover....and even these things are debateable among genisis users.
different sizes meshes are used for different PG/VG ratios usually the lower sizes are used for heavy VG juices like say #200 or #300 the higher sizes are used for 50/50 juices or higher PG juices #400,#500,#200 super fine.
also there is no generic wick..there are different ways to build a wick that sometime involve using 2 different sizes of mesh or sometimes 2 different wicks within a wick. The direction of the grain is important, some people swear that a mesh wick that is cut diagonally, wicks better...Whichever mesh you do use and however you build your wick,( as long as you build it right and you coil it right) you will be able to get the experince of the flavor that mesh can give, but the ability to build a wick that can wick fast enough and hold enough juice for how you vape, and for the atty design, will take some experimentation, using mesh is notoriously challenging and is why most vapers don't use it, so you need to allow yourself a fair bit of time and failure to learn how to use it.fair warning...a dry hit on a mesh wick makes a dry hit on cotton look like a sweet kiss,be warned..also the boogeyman of most new mesh vapers is getting hotspots out of your build which will absolutely ruin the flavor of your vape and can be pretty nasty tasting. good luck with it,and have patience.if you are a MTL vaper say 25 watts or lower... mesh is something you should master.

understood, sensei. I intend to imbue my warrior spirit in these daunting builds. I shall be forever in your debt for your priceless guidance.
