Possibly a loop?

Does anyone have any suggestions on a bottom airflow RDA? I've been thinking about the Loop, but hearing people opinions about it in this forum, I'm not so sure. I really like the looks of the Loop and the size of the resivior. I hear bottom airflow gives you better flavor. I don't want a DeadRabbit or Drop. Their ugly, and just not my thing. No offence to all of you who swear by them. Thanks for any suggestions

The loop is wonderful, although not "technically" a bottom airflow RDA. It's side airflow with directing loops (thus the name) inside that direct airflow at approximately a 45° angle underneath the coils.

The inside of the Loop.

Dripper? Squonker?
Don't know that I have a recommendation, just wondering.

No, I guess it's not "technically" bottom airflow, but the air hits the coils from underneath. What are those crazy coils you got goin' there? Those look awesome

Dripper. I'm a weirdo who has no interest in squonking even though it would be a lot easier on me at work. I tend to be a traditionalist in most areas of my life.

Just noticed you posted a link. You build some beautiful coils. I'm guessing the ones pictured above must be Mowhawk Aleins? Thanks for your service and providing American made goods.
Those are Mohawks! Thank you for the kind words!

I haven't used or owned that many RDA's. A few more suitable for squonking. I been looking for a more dedicated dripper but haven't nailed it down.
I'm sure you've looked at BTFC.

I have. It looks like it could be leaky.
Pretty much any bottom airflow RDA is going to be leaky. The BTFC isn't too bad. One of my favorite RDAs is the Squid Industries Chief King.

The BTFC and the Cheif King look very similar with both having both top and bottom airflow. Although with the Cheif King having angled air ports it looks like it would be less likely to leak. Thanks for the suggestion.

Technically, any atty that does that -- let the airflow hit the coil from directly beneath it -- IS a "bottom airflow" atomizer. It doesn't matter where the air comes in from, as long as it hits the coil from just beneath it, rather than beside or on top of it.

Somehow I've become the middleman in a disagreement about the technicalities of airflow. I'm not an expert, but if the airflow comes up from under the coils, can't we just call it bottom airflow despite where the airflow originated from?

I’ve had my loop for a couple of weeks now. I use it as a squonk but I’m sure it would be the same as a dripper. The flavor is good. Airflow is a bit turbulent unless you run wide open. Overall I think it’s a solid rda. With the Christmas sales coming up it would be worth considering in my opinion.

Exactly.

And I do think it provides the best possible flavor, the air flowing directly up over the coil/wick to your mouth.

Another RDA I like that I think is underrated is the Smoant Battlestar. It's also inexpensive. You can get an authentic for around $13 from fasttech. The way the airflow is it comes in from the bottom side and itvhas a fairly deep juice well. I use mine at work sometimes.

That's dirt cheap for what looks like a pretty decent rda.

I know this isn't bottom airflow but I just got the Goon 25mm and flavor wise it's actually really good. It's even better flavor wise than my Peerless RDA.

I'm getting in the Augvape BTFC in so I'll have something even better than the Peerless (well probably anyway) flavor wise to compare it to. I like that I can fit big builds in it though.

With the airflow open with 2 holes (out of 3) it has enough airflow to keep a 5.5 wrap 4mm hex core fused Clapton nice and cool. So yeah pretty good!

Idk Mike Vapes rated it a 9 on his flavor scale and he tests a LOT of RDAs so maybe I won't be that impressed by the BTFC as I'm pretty sure he rated that a 9 as well as the Peerless and like I said my Goon 25mm is beating it flavor wise (and they're both putting out excellent flavor).

I'll update it but yeah I'd say either the BTFC or Goon 25mm will be great for flavor. My theory is the fact that I can fit another wrap in the goon is why it can put out better flavor but that's just a theory. Obviously the BTFC has bottom airflow so that more fits in line with what you were thinking for an RDA though.

Yeah not sure the bottom airflow necessarily means better airflow depending on the RDAs design. I say this because I have the loop v1.5 and both the Goon and my Peerless put out much better flavor. Maybe look at reviewers on YouTube more so than what would taste better in theory.

I like DJLSB, Mike Vapes, and Vaping with Vic. Between the 3 of them I can get a really good idea of how good a given RDA will be for flavor and how easy or annoying it will be to build on.

Mike Vapes is a sellout. If you watch his videos to see build info he's good but his opinions are bought and paid for.
You can get good flavor from any and every RDA if it's built correctly. Some RDAs just have a larger sweet spot. Correct coils, correct coil placing and everything that goes with it. Personal preference is also a huge factor.

Yeah I agree to this to an extent. I just think the flavor starts to get to a point where the RDA itself is the bottleneck rather than the coil position or the build you have in there or wicking, etc.

Like for example I can get significantly better flavor off of my Hermetic than my other single coil RDAs because of the way the airflow is designed. No matter how I build my Digiflavor Solo or DR SQ they just cannot come close to the flavor that my Hermetic puts out.

Damn I didn't know that about Mike Vapes. I've stopped watching RipTrippers because of this. I'm not questioning the validity of your statement but I'd feel better if I had some sort of proof to go off of rather than just going off of your word. How did you come to this realization? Word of mouth or ...?

That sucks though. Not sure why you would sacrifice your integrity when that's really all you have as a reviewer. Like without that then who is going to trust or believe you?

Just ask him. He will admit he is a paid reviewer. Like I said his videos are ok but his opinions are bought. I'll watch alot of different reviewers to see different perspectives. I sometimes watch reviewers I can't stand if they are reviewing something I'm interested in and nobody else is. I know what I like and what I don't so a reviewer's opinion, in the end, is meaningless. Personally I would rather get opinions from forums like this where people have real world experience.

Well most of those guys are paid reviewers though. They usually say that while they are paid, thatt hey will give their honest opinion in the review...but let's be honest, very very few reviewers are totally honest in their reviews after being paid to do the review. I think it's human nature -- hard to be brutally honest about something/someone who is paying your salary.
