Makers of flavored e-cigarettes face a 'make-or-break year'
As opposed to makers of unflavored ones? Even a tobacco vape is "flavored" but just stop already.
“The idea that these companies could be creating and even profiting from nicotine addiction in youth who may eventually transition to combustible cigarette use is devastating to regulators and certain factions of the public health community,” Miller wrote.
Same old tired gateway to tobacco argument. These clowns can't come up with anything factual so they just keep regurgitating the same rubbish. If they were really concerned about public health they would consider eliminating combustible cigarettes, we're well aware of their health effects.
Development of alternative products could be hampered if “most or all flavors are banned other than tobacco flavors,” and then other countries could follow the U.S. with their policies, she added. “It’s possible the e-cigarette category all but disappears,” Miller said, after being an area of major investment for tobacco giants.
Associating the entire vaping industry (and its related development) with big tobacco demonstrates the narrow minded short-sightedness of the uninformed. And what BT vape comes in crisp apple pie or creme brulee? Yeah, too bad about their major investment.

The whole thing begins to sound like broken record syndrome. First its the nicotine, then its the flavors, and dont forget the gateway effect. Soon we'll be back to that wonderful formaldehyde again, yum. Lather, rinse, repeat.

I wonder what qualifies as the "e-cigarette category" to those folks? The stuff sold in gas stations and C-Stores?

I'm sure to some (regulators, public health) the convenience store market is all they see or know of vaping. Let them focus on that, thinking if they kill that off they've saved the children. Even if they can regulate flavored products in vape shops or online, people will find creative ways around it.
