Need help with strawberry

I have been diy'ng for two and a half years now, mostly copying others' recipes, and sometimes designing my own (mostly NETs). I have been very happy with the results, with one notable exception ...... strawberry. It doesn't matter how many recipes i try, or which flavoring company, I just can't get it right. It would be exaggerating to say I can't taste the strawberry at all, but it's a faint approximation of strawberry at best. I know there are some people who can't taste strawberry at all in vape form, but I'm not one of them. I have tasted strawberry in commercially sold eliquids before, not the well known strawberry and creams from the likes of Cuttwood and Suicide Bunny etc... but two other less known vendors: Ahlusion and Baker White.

So my question for you all: What can I do that I haven't done!? I've tried adding sweetener (i don't usually), and that didn't help either. I've tried most of the well known strawberry flavors from 1% all the way to 10% in multiple combinations, I've copied tons of strawberry recipes that many have raved about .... nothing has worked so far.

Any suggestions or comments would be welcome!

Thank You.

ETA: Is it possible that those two vendors extract their own strawberry liquids!?

Did you try combining 2 different strawberries? From different companies? For example, Inawera Shisha Strawberry with FA Juicy Strawberry? And some people add another flavor to help boost the Strawberry but I can’t remember what they used.

Sounds to me like you have the same problem as some of the rest of us that just can't taste strawberry. I've tried all sorts of concoctions to no avail.
I don’t have a problem tasting strawberry. It’s what I have read. Combining 2 strawberries to give it more depth.

Yeah, i've tried combining as well, i'm not sure if i've tried the specific combination you mentioned, but i've definitely tried both in some form of combination with other strawberries.

Yeah, what everyone has said above. Unfortunately, it’s gonna take a lot of experimentation to find what works for you. Most people do use Shisha Strawberry as a part of that combination.

The only other thing I can think of is that commercial juice usually clocks in at around 20% flavorings. Are you percentages high enough? Or are you overflavoring? That can mute flavors, too.

Oops. I should have really read your whole post. Sounds like you've done what I mentioned. Except finding the right combo.....I don’t know.

Succulent Strawberry(OSDIY I think?) is a nice, powerful strawberry. Have you tried that one?

Let’s ask @Mykreign who has the issue of not tasting Strawberry. @Mykreign did you ever find a fix?
I don't think I'd call it a fix. I've found a few that work for me. I also tried all the different popular recipes to no avail. I bet around 30 of them.

I've made a few recipes myself that have worked. Search Mykreign + strawberry juicy fruit or strawberry lemonade or strawberry fluff. I also have a cheesecake recipe that I can share with you if you'd like.

I've tested around 25-30 different strawberry flavors. The ones that work for me are TFA ripe and strawberry, INW shisha strawberry and CAP sweet strawberry. FA strawberries are the worst for me. Don't taste like anything.

A lot of popular recipes use the tfa, inw and cap strawberries but they also put so many other flavors in the recipe that people like us can't taste it anymore. The strawberry gets drowned out.

The succulent strawberry that wild Gypsy mentioned is good too but I believe it's just a mixture of the two tfas and maybe some sweetener.

@Mazinny What recipes have you tried? What flavors have you tried solo?

Edit: going to bed. Will check back in the morning.

This may sound stupid (it really is), but I haven't really tried strawberry solo. Come to think of it, other than flavors that are supposed to be one-shots, like Fa Up for example, I haven't tried anything solo. I suppose one reason I haven't, is that I don't even like fruit mixes, that don't have some cream or bakery element. I don't like the texture and mouth feel, and I don't like Inw cactus and TFA Dragonfruit, some common flavors people say adds juiciness to fruit mixes.

Unfortunately I'm not as big a diy enthusiast as most of you, and don't spend a lot of time experimenting. Since I started diy'ng, i have only copied others' recipes, and added different flavors to my NET extracts. Once a month or so, i mix a bunch of recipes and vape what i like, and toss the others, or occasionally tweak them a bit. As I find the recipes I liked best, I make more and more of them, and decrease the number of new mixes, every mixing session .... until i get tired of some of my adv's, and start the process over again.

So what i've done is copy recipes from here, reddit, ecf etc... and then increased the strawberry if i could taste at least something faint, resembling strawberry, in those mixes. These are the strawberries I have: Inw Shisha, Fa both versions, TFA strawberry and Ripe, Capella Sweet Strawberry, FLV Strawberry and Alpine strawberry. Basically the ones used most often in published recipes online. A lot less than you unfortunately.

I'll be sure to try my strawberries solo, next mixing session though, and your mixes if I have all the flavors. Thanks for your detailed reply ... and every one else too. Much appreciated.

P.S. I saw a post from Andria from the thread you linked about using Inw Shisha at a much much higher percentage than other recipes published online. I can give that a try too i suppose. I always thought (read) that flavors will start tasting off, and chemically, at higher percentages, so I haven't tried anything higher than 10%.

Totally understandable. I'm too lazy to experiment these days. I did all the strawberry stuff awhile ago.

I'm curious if you'd be able to taste my recipes so definitely let me know.

What wattage do you vape at? Lower wattage will require more flavoring. Andria Vapes her recipe around 9 Watts.

I hope you find something that works. I know what I can taste when it comes to strawberry but have yet to try a recipe that's mind blowing.

I'm mostly a MTL vaper, but a little higher power than Andria. 12 watts for my NETs and 14 for others. I DL every once in a while too, but I actually taste things better at lower watts, not the intensity of the flavors necessarily, but the nuances, especially in more complex juices. My theory is that that because the different flavor compounds have separate boiling points, when you heat it too fast (DL) you don't have as much time to taste the different ingredients separately, you just taste the mixture (as if it's a shake). It could all be in my head though!

Can't verify this, as I got it from another vaper about 3 years ago ... not hard to believe though, as I've seen other examples of the chemistry used to create flavorings.

Subject:
Strawberry Flavoring Ingredients List
This is the list of ingredients in strawberry flavoring (not the eliquid mind you, just the flavoring).

I have a hard time with strawberry too. The combination I settled on that works for me in my favorite cheesecake recipe is FA Strawberry-3%; TFA Ripe Strawberry-1%; INW Shisha Strawberry-0.25%. The TFA and INW give just enough boost to the natural flavor of the FA that it comes through the creams and cheesecake flavoring without overpowering everything
