-The number one thing to consider when selecting a certain PG/VG ratio is what tank you're going to be using.
-Most sub ohm tanks (premade coil heads) work best with 30pg/70vg
-Rda/rta/rdta (make your own coils) generally are better at wicking thicker juice, 20pg/80vg or even 100%VG (30pg/70vg still works fine as well)
-Some small, low wattage tanks you need 50pg/50vg

Those are some general rules to stick to.

Pg is the flavor carrier, so technically the more pg you have, the more flavor your juice will have. That's subjective though and depends on so many factors. (tank/coil/wattage)

I'm assuming by soft you mean not over-flavored?

Regardless of the hardware used, you have to know the limitations of your own body. Some can't handle much VG without feeling like they have a hairball in their lungs, or just a LOT of congestion. Some can't handle much PG without irritation. The hardware is irrelevant if you fall into either category, but only YOU can determine if you do fall into either category, and which of the two causes you the most problems.

Also, VG causes more fog. PG gives you more flavor.

Absolutely, and rarely mentioned.
It's become really hard to find premade juices except for high VG.
I recognize that there are many folks whose bodies react badly to PG.
But, what's rarely mentioned is that some folks react badly to high VG.
I, for one, have nostril and throat and lung irritation with most juices higher than 65VG, not to mention lung heaviness.

I have to vape 86%-87.5% PG, and even with that little VG, late at night I often have a tight, dry cough; it feels like something in there needs to come out, but it won't move... until I've been lying down in bed for about an hour, and then it sometimes insists on giving a wet productive cough that won't stop till the congestion is out. I try to remember to turn my vape down a little, as the night gets later... from 10w, to maybe 9.8 or 9.6 watts; that helps a little.

But lately I've been giving some thought to, if not quitting, at least trying to slow down on the vaping a little. Sure it's much better for me than smoking, but with asthma, life --and breathing! -- really would be easier if I didn't vape, or maybe didn't vape so much

Andria.

I have seen the higher PG juices make a comeback but only in high salt nic form.
I guess they need more PG because of the small wick/coils inside of pod devices.

Most store bought salt nic eliquid is from 50/50 to 35/65 PG/VG but the nic level is 20mg/ml and up.

Totallywicked was the first place I bought from when I started vaping in 2012 and they still have the "titan" eliquid that is 70/30 PG/VG

If I go over 60, and I tried 61-65, I get the same reactions as you. It's not pleasant at all, so I mix at exactly 60%.

For my first 6 weeks I vaped only Halo Tribecca. It's never been confirmed, but most say it's at least 80% PG. All I know is it worked very well for me.

Tribecca is a good one.

I got this deal where if you bought a 3 pack of 4.2ml pods for the Aspire Gusto Mini you got the Halo Branded mod kit with one pod included for $1

So 4 pods and the mod ended up being $14 shipped

I ordered all Tribecca in 6mg

I got a few of them to give out to people I know that still smoke since it was such a good deal.

Even better they are located around 100 miles from me so packages get here real quick.:)

Yes, I agree it's quite good. I was very fortunate to have used that for my first juice as it did a great job as a substitute for cigs. My wife bought it in a shop in Atlanta and the guy who helped her knew what he was doing. I have two 30ml @ 12mg bottles that are now two years old. That's a good steep time, they should be great by now.

Sure. It's hardly perfect and possibly not as harmless as we think. But...
I've been out of touch for months now. For some reason my ISP stopped sending me alerts from VU, and then I was out of the country for a couple of months. So, I assumed that either VU went under or everyone bailed out. After some back and forth here on VU, I changed my email address to another I have with a diff ISP and suddenly you're all there again. Phew!
Couldn't help noticing that your avatar changed from a nice pic to a somewhat strong statement. What happened?

I fooled around with pods and therefore with salts. I really wanted to like the salts. But, I didn't. I found them harsh, despite what has been said.

Ah, the good good old days. Tribeca was the juice with which I left cigs. I loved it. But, curiously, and for no good reason I can figure out, as with others I loved, suddenly they began to taste bad. I'd put them aside and months later go back. But, still the same. No go. But, warm appreciation for the help they provided.
And, yes it's high PG.

I tried some after a year and I couldn't vape it either. I haven't vaped any tobacco flavor since.

I ventured an opinion about something, as I'm wont to do, and got called a dick for it. Which is quite a stretch, being of the innie rather than outie persuasion. :D My *real* friends here convinced me that I didn't need to go anywhere, but just consider the source. So I thought I'd make it plain what those who dislike my opinions can do with THEIR opinion. ;)

AndriaD,
Your opinions have always been strong (even your fave DIY recipe is strong---plus, you use flash, right?:)).
I must have missed the whole discussion and the back and forth, as I went without checking VU for a while.
Well, VU doesn't seem to require that we all tow the same line or beat the same drum. I remember when I used to read this other forum that was like that---and it was stifling.

Don't use Flash anymore at all... and the recipe isn't that strong either; 23.15% now. :)

I've had a hard time with tobaccos which weren't naturally extracted. In fact I dislike them all. Too many to even list.
But, I've grown to really enjoy certain naturally extracted ones. Granted, they do quickly end up ashtray tasting, but before than I like them.

LOL. That's the thing about forum type technology. One can call anyone anything, and say alot of stupid and hurtful things. And, it's a good place for cowards, who would be petrified to voice those things face to face. So, it's hard for me to get seriously wound up with stuff said. But, I could be wrong, I'm just a dick.
