I don’t normally mic much, but lately found onestopdiy with there single flavor blends, so been mixing more and what with talk of flavor bans, decided with Black Friday sales, I would stock up on nic and freeze it.

I bought 1000mils of 100mg nic and 125mil cobalt bottles to store it in, as never stored nic, have a few questions....

Should I fill the bottles to the brim, so hardly any air in the bottle, or should I leave some space in the bottle?

Also when I want to use a bottle, how much time should I have it out of the freezer before using?

Fill them with as little air as possible. Make sure you shake up your liter bottle before decanting into the smaller bottles to get the nic mixed well.

Did you buy your nic in PG or VG? PG wouldn't take too long to work with as it doesn't freeze in a common residential freezer. VG will be really thick and would be hard to get mixed unless at room temp. Shake well before use or decanting into even smaller bottles.

I would suggest some 30 or 60 ml bottles as your working bottles and the rest in the 125 ml bottles in the freezer. Make sure kids and critters can't get to them and I double bag mine as well. My working bottle is stored in the fridge and taken out about 30 before mixing.

Thank you @gopher_byrd, I bought VG as base, as mix 70VG/30PG, you say only keep 30-60 miles out at time for mixing, so will be ok to take that out of one of the 125mil bottles in the freezer and then put the rest of the bottle back in the freezer, or would it not be advised to put a half full bottle back in the freezer?

Cobalt bottles aren't the best choice.... I've read a couple times of folks storing their nic in them, and when they took the bottles from the freezer for use, the nic had turned blue.

Amber (brown) bottles don't have that problem.

What I do is decant the 125 to a 60 and 2 30 ml bottles and freeze what is not the working bottle. Air/oxygen is the major reason of nic tasting funny and turning yellow.

I had not heard of the cobalt bottles turning liquid blue, but it's plausible.

I thought the blue colbalt was recommend to store nic, that’s all they had on nicotine giant and bought 10 of them.

I use clear glass bottles for storing nic in the freezer.
I can tell if it has changed color (oxidized) and light is not an issue in a freezer esp with the nic in a box.

Have some 3 yr old in the freezer and still crystal clear.

I fill to the bottom of the nect to minimize air contact with the nic and it also allows for a bit of expansion. Exapnsion is not a big issue as PG or VG based nic will NOT freeze in any home freezer.
It takes lower than -50 F to freeze PG or VG.

to use I pull out a 120 ml bottle and decant a 30 ml amber bottle full.
And put the 120 ml bottle back in freezer.
Mine is PG based and will pour straight out of the deep freeze.
VG based will need more warm up time as it will be thicker than PG.

I freeze in 120ml amber and fill just shy of the top lip, I use poly cone caps. When I take out a bottle for use I let it come to room temp, mix 1500ml of base and store the rest nic in the refrigerator. I do put the bottle in a ziplock baggie.

That's the mistake -- you can get bottles FAR!!!!!! cheaper on Amazon. They have both kinds, but the amber (brown) are cheaper, and safer.

Adding the glass bottles earned me free shipping, and as they sell their nic in them bottles too, thought they would be fine.

Is it possible that some cheap cobalt bottles are just tinted and the color is not really inside the glass?
Aren't some colored tank glass that way?

Or have I been watching fake vape news?

You are right about tanks, had a few from fasttech where you can just wipe the color off, but these bottles are from nicotine giant, so hopefully they didn’t get the from fasttech lol, as said they do sell the nic in them bottles too, so hopefully good.

I have nic(100mg/ml) stored in the blue cobalt bottles. The bottles I have are from the last year of RTS before they became Nicotine Giant. The nicotine is well preserved. No issues. This is the nicotine they offer "freezer ready".
