Lil update.... had around 15 min this morning before leaving for work to fuck with the grips...
The exposed copper by my thumb is not part of the circuit...simply pins to center the deck. I fought with the idea knowing the wood would be thin towards the outside so I’m going to be ball peening some copper sheet to give it a rustic finish and leaking three inlays on both sides to cover that mishap.
More to do especially on the front grip but it’s coming along. Thank you for your time.

Saturday's first build. Got me 12 inches of it. I'll make a pair of 8w to a crazy friend who likes stupid huge coils, lol.

Well ... did not turn out like I'd hoped .... or even close. Need to use different gauges so they actually fit in each other and the fuses don't mess with each other and push the staggers around. But I like the idea. And it's a decent vape

Been vaping 6 years. First time with SS. Far as I can tell not any difference in taste or performance than Ni80. Just more expensive and lower ohms ...
Pretty colors though even though I blew right through most of them lol

I dunno if this is a Hedgehog pattern or if I just bunched the cores up and got some type of a strange groove. If anyone could tell me what they like to use wire wise for a hedgehog that would be helpful. I would think to get a hedgehog you would want to use less stretch on your decore. I ask that by all means you correct me if I don’t have the right idea.

Definitely looks like a hedgehog. Standard practice for a hedgehog is 6/1 decore over a fraple, though you can do it + or - to get different peaks and valleys. Did you use all round cores for that and a couple of them shot up into the peaks like a mohawk? I actually tried it with some ribbon but I think I let it all get cramped. I need to find the right stack with the right decore and the right stretch. If only they vaped as well as they look.

Figured out how to diamondback braid. Also got a lot better at keeping track of the wires and stopping and resuming.

Congrats man! I noticed immediately that you were an extremely talented builder and what's even more is that you take the time to engage with the rest of us and you seem really cool. It's funny how some people have the ego and lack the ability while you have zero pretentiousness about you. Well thank you sir. I appreciate that! IDK that I'm anymore talented than anyone else. This is more of a skill than a talent. I just happen to have more time to invest into it than most. So, I can build the skill faster and more consistently. Plus the artistic side of it satisfies the musician in me as well. And the addictive side of me found this to be rewarding so I can use it as an outlet for that tooCongrats man!
