Hi, I’m Heather and I’m addicted to dessert juices.:confetti:

I was a pack and a half a day smoker for 25+ years. Never planned on quitting to be completely honest. Not until my ten year old daughter asked me how black I thought my lungs were from smoking for so long :(. Not exactly what you want to hear from your kid. I had no answer for her.

The next day I stopped by my local vape shop and bought a Breeze 2. The plan was to vape until I could wean myself off of nic. That was over two months ago. I feel so much better. I can actually smell things! Well... it turns out I love vaping. The Breeze was ok, but it only vapes well with salts. I needed a bigger variety of flavor and a much lower nic content. I wanted something more, so I ended up with an Aspire K4 a few weeks ago. It’s ok, a bit leaky, flavor could be better, but I still love it. And now I’m on the quest for my first mod. I’ll be ordering it this week.

My nic content is down, but I don’t see myself quitting any time soon. Those dessert and cereal flavors have me hooked :giggle:

Nicotine is not all that addictive....it's all the other stuff in cigs that create the hard addiction.

Well welcome to the Vu. 64 days is great.kids make you think sometimes. I never planned on vaping long either. It's been 3 years. But it's definitely more of a hobby for me now. I love it. It can be an addiction if you're not careful. But no worries, I started a shinyitus anonymous thread on here. But we really just help you spend more.. Always great deals in the hardware thread too if you're into getting a new one.

Welcome to vu and congrats on quitting
As was said, vaping can turn into a rabbit hole.
I meant to quit vaping after I quit smoking 7 years ago.

The important thing is being off the laundry list of additives in cigarettes.

Welcome!

Since I started vaping I've been asking myself if I don't get some placebo effect from it.

35 years smoking, I'm used to the fixation of inhaling a warm tasty substance. Even more so now with all
the wonderful flavors of ejuice.

I don't know if I stilI need the nicotine, or if I just tell myself I do.

I wonder if I'd actually notice if my local vape shop secretly substituted 0 nic for the 3 and 6 nic I usually get.
Then 6 months later go 'haha, you're nicotine free!'

Hi Heather, welcome to VU! Congratulations on putting down the cigarettes. I don't think any of us are surprised to hear you say that you feel better.

Never really thought about how long I'd vape, just knew I didn't want to smoke any more. This rabbit hole is huge, though, and there are a LOT of people down here in it! Coil building and juice mixing take you into completely different rooms in the rabbit hole! Once you start learning about different facets of vaping, you gain the ability to tailor your own experience even more to your personal preferences. I'm really happy with the things I've learned here in the forum. And even though I've bought a bunch of mods, tanks, flavors, tools, batteries, etc. I still haven't come anywhere CLOSE to what I'd have spent over the past seven years on smoking.

Hope you'll hang around and chime in. Lots of knowledge and really nice people here.

ETA: I smoked for 39 years. There are a few around here who smoked longer than me, and a few who have been vaping longer than me, but not many. I'm extremely happy I was able to quit smoking when I did.

Welcome

I still smoke, cuz I live in China and its just more convenient for me in a way. But I mostly 90% of the time just cuz I enjoy vaping more and me smoking a cig is mostly just for social purposes (it's a culture to hand out cigs). I buy a pack and 95% of the time it's just me handing out cigs to ppl as compared to me smoking lol.

I enjoy smoke coming out my mouth lol that's why I smoked in the first place, then vaping and also quite a believer in vaping. Which is why I let ppl try my devices all the time and hand out extra juice that I don't need to ppl for free when I see them.

It can turn into a hobby. There's many facets to dive into. My favorite vaping hobby is making my own juice.

When you get sick of paying high buck for your liquids check out the e juice DIY sections here. There's lots to learn but it's so rewarding.

Nicotine is probably the LEAST harmful chemical in cigarettes, and it's NOT the biggest part of the smoking addiction. So wean off nic if you really wanna, or if you have some [insurance or cardiovascular] reason to do so, but I wouldn't worry about vaping indefinitely in place of smoking; over and over, I've seen people say, yeah I got my nic level down to 0mg, so I quit vaping... and then I started smoking again, so now I have to quit again. Behavior is MUCH!!!! harder to change than just removing a chemical from your body -- just ask any nailbiter!... and I can attest, the 2nd time you quit, with vaping or by any other means, it's MUCH harder.

Why are children reporting to government officials that they are addicted to Juuls Vapes......and they are cranky in school and yell at parents when they go a while without a Vape..... These are 12 to 14 year olds.

I blame the parents who allowed them to start using it and now their entitled little spoiled brats are using it as an excuse to get their way. When I was an underage smoker I used to get busted because I smelled like smoke. We know you can smell the vapes.

Oh, and also... that's a complete fallacy about smokers' lungs being "black"... they might not be quite as pink and healthy-looking as a non-smokers', but they don't turn black... unless you're maybe already dead? Just another one of those lovely lies that the smoke nazis have foisted on the public, to make them hate on smokers, and to make smokers feel even worse about a behavior that most of us had no ability to change, until vaping came along... and now they want vaping to go away, since it makes quitting so easy, they don't think we're doing it right -- we're supposed to suffer, y'know. Also they never wanted anyone to ACTUALLY quit, they just wanted a convenient whipping boy, plus all those tobacco taxes.

If all smokers quit, those tobacco control leeches would have to get REAL jobs... McD's is probably hiring.
