Need help whether to charge my battery in mod or external

So i have a VandyVape Pulse BF 80W and a single 20700 Battery, was wondering if i can charge my single batteries on the mod or should i charge them externally, I saw other threads saying it's fine and i saw others saying that you shouldn't cause it will ruin battery life, I've been charging my 20700 battery on my mod for the past 4 days and it's been doing fine, i get a fully charged batt after 2 hours tops but i was wondering i could get the same thing if i charged them externally? and or if i should charge them at 0.5 Amp which will take longer but help with battery life.

Suggest what i should do whether use the mod charging port or the external battery, and just a fyi I'm the type of vaper to vape every 2 mins so my battery would die on me in 4 hours tops.

I only use the usb when I'm out and about as I don't carry extra batteries with me, but when I'm home I charge batts via external charger and swap out accordingly. It doesn't bother me to charge usb though.

I have more important things to worry about than reducing my mod or batteries life span by charging via usb when needed.

At what amp do you charge them at? and how long does it take to be fully charged?

I would get a separate charger and extra battery that way if you end up with a dead battery and still want to vape you can just switch them.

There shouldn't be any problem with charging a single cell.
I would imagine most boards have that capability.
The ones that are sketchy are the dual (or more) battery mods because the charge has to be balanced.

I see, thanks! that's just what i needed to feel safe charging my batt in the mod, I'm planning on swapping to a dual 18650 battery mod and what amp do you think i should charge it on? i have the AWT C2 dual charger so the options are 0.25 amp, 0.50amp, 1.0amp and 2.0 amp

At the moment I have an Efest Luc V4 four bay charger and it can charge one or two cells at 2 / 1/ 0.5 amps each and three or four cells at 1 / 0.5 amps each.

You will find that the higher quality chargers will let you choose the amps you charge at but the most I've seem amp wise is 2a.

it depends on the circumstances.
If you are in a hurry i'd go with 2 amps but if you have time the cells will last longer overall if you charge at 1 amp

I have a mod that has a screw on bottom that has a 26650 battery that I charge via USB all the time.
I've never had any problems with it.

But I mostly use the dual 18650 mods and I never plug one of those in.
I know some company's are better than others when it comes to their dual battery on board charging but I'd rather not take any chances.
Plus most dual battery mods are really easy to remove and replace the batteries.

I my opinion it doesn't make any difference at all as long as you have a reliable USB Power source.

I do think that the data shows that many mods will do good and safe balanced charging.

The reason I got a good external charger was because I tripped over the cord that was plugged into my Procolor's usb port and it wouldn't charge after that.

Now that I have it, I use the charger most of the time. I still can't get a solid answer on whether a given mod's internal charging cuts off once charged. The fact that it's never mentioned in the specs makes me suspect not, but I don't know for sure.

All of the MOD's I own stop charging when complete and some actually shut off competely. Although I have 10 charging bays from 3 chargers I still do not have enough bays to charge all my batteries when I need to so I use the USB charging all the time. When I only have 2 bays free in a charger and need to charge 3 cells USB is the answer.

I've done abit of research and found the DNA mods are the best at Mod Charging? DNA owners charge their batteries thru mod and have never had any problems

My information is based on personal testing of the devices I actually own and not based on some reviewer. Plus this is continuous usage over the course of years with know good quality batteries.

I remember you mentioning when I was asking about charging new batteries internally that your Alien did excellent balanced charging.

I'm not doubting you at all, but I'm curious. How did you determine that the internal charging stops when full?

I can see testing whether batteries charge to the same level with a multimeter, but no mod I own says anything about not charging anymore when they're full. There's no way to tell by looking at the information on the screen. How would an external test show that? Again, I'm honestly just curious.

I removed the batteries when fully charged and checked them with a Volt Meter. Even though still plugged in over night it was not over 4.2 Volts in the AM. The charging indicator built into the MOD shows as not charging. I did this because of a know it all dumbass on another forum who continuously spouts nonsense that he saw in reviews. Proved many of the things he spews to be BS.

That being the case, you would think that the manufacturers would publicize it as a protection. I wonder they usually don't. Maybe they see it as a given?

I would think it was given since to function as a charger it needs to shut off at the proper time. I mean some ID-10-T's tell you to never leave batteries charging unattended. Do they really sit and watch the charger for 5-6 hours? Some people I guess have no life and actually do it if that is the case.

I;m glad you said this first LOL!

There ain't no way I can babysit charging batteries.

There was some guy in some forum somewhere who posted about how his Smok mod (don't remember the model) blew up while charging overnight, Complete with post-apocalyptic pix of the bookshelf n all.

During the ensuing conversation it came out that he failed to mention at first the fact that the batteries were some quite dodgy ebay specials.

I have found over the years that most problems reported have significant facts left out. A few have had others peg out how the color of what was left of the wrap looks like a battery with Fire in the name. Sure it was the MOD and not the batteries or is stopped charging because they broke the USB Port.
