Rda choice: recurve, b2k v5, or venom?

I’m stuck between the above three.

I lost my precious hadaly and sqonk mod in a drinking incident a few weeks back. Silly Abita beers.

I’ve since replaced the mod but need to replace the squonk atty.
I don’t want one with a 510 dripip so I’ve narrowed it to the recurve, b2k and venom.

Anyone have any direction or advice?

The only one I have is the Recurve. It has a restricted DL draw. Peeps recommend for squonking as they say it doesn’t handle dripping too well. I’ve only squonked with it.

That’s what I’m looking for is a squonk rda.
I should put that in my op -oops

Promise I’m sober now

How is it for flavor?

I have the recurve and the b2k but not the venom. So from the 2 I have. I totally recommend the recurve. But you also need the new conversation cap. I didn't really love this rda till I got the the conversation cap. Now it is my go to rda. I have it on every mech and single 18650 mod I have. For my dual battery squonkers. I'm still looking for a dual coil that I love as much as the recurve and I have a lot of dual coil rdas. Hope this helps

Thank you...
Is there something the recurve delivers better than the b2k? Just trying to nail down what makes it better...
I know it’s a weird question, sorry

I’m curious how the additional top cap is different?

It is just my opinion that the recurve has better flavor. The new conversion cap increases the flavor. Again this is just my opinion. For me I like flavor and clouds. This is what the recurve does for me. Other short rdas with 510 drip tips are said to have the best flavor. But for me those rdas are not what I like. I had to try a lot of rdas till I found the one that works best for me. I'm thinking that you may need the same experience.

All three! ...damn that dnv venom looks tasty though ...thats going on my buy wish list as well :giggle:
This is where my conundrum falls...
I need to replace or update my dual coil attys as well.
God damn vaping, why did you have to get so many options?
Probably end up with the b2k and recoil.... :giggle:

All I have from that list is the recurve. Fantastic flavor, the conversation cap didn't change anything for me besides not transfering heat. I got the PC conversion cap, not metal. The stock cap transfered a lot of heat and worse, retained it for a long time because it is so thick.
I also wasn't too into the curve of the stock cap.

I thought you had a recurve and didn't like it? Maybe I am thinking of someone else.

I did have one; realized shortly after I got finished cursing at it that the insulator on the positive block was blocking the airflow on that side.
I’ve since been haggling with FT for a replacement.
Now that I’ve lost the hadaly, sold my omertà and other dedicated single coil rdas I’m back to needing a good
Flavor chaser for all day and battery conservation.
Guess I’m really trying to avoid buyers remorse.

Was there any reason you didn’t want to replace it like for like? Or just fancied something different

The vape quality was so “off” that I was turned off right away. That and the fact that the barrel kept the base exposed a bit.
It made the whole thing feel janky.

Now bay I’m forced to revisit it out of necessity I’m on the fence and wanting to make sure I get what I’ll like. I started dripping 6 years ago and went through an rda a week before I landed on my first adv rda. Really don’t want to go through that crap again. Hanky was the one that tunes me onto the hadaly, since he and had identical vape preferences it was a no brainer to try it.

I don't remember how the stock cap sat but the 22mm cap sits right down on the mod... or within a fraction of a mm from touching.
Btw, that sucks about getting a doa recurve from FT :(

Thank you for the pic...
yeah I’ve been buying from them for 7 years now and it’s only my second issue. Albeit, I usually just buy parts and tools from them; but, still a good track record.

The recurve is a bit restricted with good flavor. The B2K is airy and still has good flavor. Another option for single coil w/ 810 is the Nudge 22. It comes with two top caps, restricted airflow cap and airy airflow cap. It too has good flavor. I would say the recurve has more flavor than the other two (full disclosure- i only took a few draws from a b2k so it could have just been their build, but own the other two) but all three was in the same ballpark flavor wise.

Hell, I could get a nudge22 and recurve for less than the b2k.
Not to mention the b2k has been a pain in the ass to find in stock.

How do they compare to the hadaly?
Albeit- it took a while for me to nail down not over squonking the hadaly

The nudge can be a bit touchy when it comes to over squonking especially with the wider airflow cap. The recurve is a lot more forgiving.

I have not used the hadaly. But the entheon is something I can compare them to if it helps. The nudge with small airflow cap has almost identical draw to it as the entheon. The recurve is a little looser. The large airflow on the Nudge is more airy than the recurve, more along the lines of the wasp nano. And the entheon, nudge, and recurve all give nice flavor. Recurve just a touch more on flavor and also pumps a little more clouds than the others by a little bit (probably the little bit bigger cloud is the reason for the slight bump in flavor).

Yeah, over squonking was made me not like the hadaly... and it was a more restricted AF than I like.

You would probably have juice coming out of the DT before you get any juice out of the air holes in the recurve, over squonking just does not happen.
If you get one, drop the coil lower than the tool suggests, into the airflow like it should be. 3.5mm ID coil to get it close to the airflow.

I agree, with a large coil like a 3.5mm I would drop it a little lower too. I use a 2.5mm in mine and it works great at the height of the tool arm.

But on the flip side, I have had it leak from over squonking, and saying it would come out the drip tip first is a bit of an exaggeration. I did have to really push the juice up in there to get it to start leaking, but it does come out the air holes if you get over zealous on the squonk bottle.

Yes it was, but ut is probably not far off.

I did get it well over the coil with 75vg juice and not a drop iut of the airholes just to see but a normal squonk is probably 1/2 up the coil with the most overzealous squeeze so normal operation the cap stays dry.

Any higher than where it’s at below it leaks (that’s still more than enough though)

6A8FBFBC-E290-491F-AB93-2544A08BBFB5.jpeg

Also I get leaking under the base ...suspect over time juice gets down in the area circled

Don’t get me wrong still love the recurve not as much as the hadaly mind but it’s a damn good ADV for my personal tastes

Yeah, seems like no atty avoids that. Especially if you take the cap off even once.

Base fitting top caps without a lip to rest on for sure ...though the ones with split o rings with screws in between stand up a little better I’ve found

...I never take top cap off on this and it still leaks lol dunno even with the pmma on there I can’t exactly see where it’s coming from but that area circled was collecting with juice/condensation when chain vaping

I added a small oring around the base of the 510 pin on mine and I stopped getting leaking around the base. I think there may be a little seeping from the tips of the flat head squonk pin honestly.

Deinfately gonna try that! although my 510 area was almost clear which is strange, would have thought it would be flooded unless it’s all been going inside the mod

If it was me I would go with the DNV Venom. I know a lot of people love the b2k but I just think it is alright. I do have 3 decks for the damn thing though lol.

Ive tried hard to enjoy the B2K but it's just not for me. Too airy and gets really hot. I loved all the accessories but the ultem and delrin caps are not the best quality, the chamber reducer is useless and I would not recommend it to be a Hadaly replacement.
The perfect replacement for a Hadaly would be a KRMA, great quality, so easy to build, squonks well and I believe you can still pick them up now, I think the final run includes a slammed cap.

Krma is a solid rda. I think for the replacement of a Hadaly the Pysclone Citadel is getting favorable remarks. I expect one to be here Monday but it looks promising.
