Out of curiosity and boredom, I was wondering now that Nic salts have had enough time to get into the market I am curious how many people prefer salts to free base and vise versa.

Personally, I don't care for the salts, to me they mute a bit and I get a funky aftertaste. The first day for me they taste like junk and then after that for maybe a week they are ok then junk again. I won't name names on the salts I have tried but I've tried more than one.

What do you guys think?

I use nic salts only when I need it. I do not use reg nic. I most of the time vape zero nic.

I love my voopoo pandas... reminds me of back when I started vaping, but still loose enough draw I don't get frustrated.
My pods last for 2 days (5ml) and 2-3 weeks, depending on if I change a flavor or not.

My nic salt comes from a few companies my lab has had me help with, I have zero issues with the nic salts and have not experienced what you are describing @wllmc

My mix is a menthol tobacco blend that mostly taste like a tic tac..

What I do experience is after a 4 week period if I do not vape all of what I have mixed, my tic tac gets muddled and the tobacco comes out and I trash it..
I dont mix that much so it is not that big of a loss..

I still have a high pg intolerance.. I am working with my lab on a few things for this, and have found a couple solutions but nothing I can post public on.

i prefer salts..and have for the last 6 months...nude nicotine. I'm vaping 24 mg...with freebase I vaped 12..with free base the juice would start to get peppery after a couple of weeks even with closed bottles...if I used freebase at 24mg the flavor of the nic would overpower the flavorings of the juice and the salts really help keeping the nic from oxidizing and turning peppery...If I vaped lower nic levels like 6 or 3..I'd probablly use freebase...I'm thinking of starting to make my own nic salts so I can use the type of freebase nic that I prefer which is Carolina extracts.

I watched the Ecigarette-Summit from the UK and the science is in on nic salts.

If you were like me, a guy who carried around a brick for three years doing lung punches of 15ml's+ of over sweetened 3mg store bought juice a day your harm has been reduced dramatically if you now vape 1.5ml's of 30mg/ml nic salt eliquid a day.

You'd be getting the same amount of nicotine either way but you'd be inhaling ten times LESS of the biggest unknown of vaping - flavoring agents.

if you are vaping half as much of 24mg/ml nic salt then when you were vaping 12mg/ml of regular nic then you are inhaling half as much vapor to get the same daily dose of nicotine.

There is no way possible it could be more harmful to inhale half as much flavoring a day as you normally do.

I'm a nic salts guy. I did freebase for years but thought what the hell, I'll give it a go...and wow is it better. Gotta use a quality salts though. Got mine from Nicotine River. 100mg Purnic salts. Less of the harshness and mixes the same. Ask @gadget....he's vaped my juice....

Could you let me know how DIY nic salts turn out if you go for it?
I have been thinking about the same thing because I have 2 liters of freebase nic just sitting in the freezer.

I haven't mixed with salts but I got a commercial juice with it. I didn't like it at all. It burned the inside of my nose and tasted really gross. It was so off-putting, I doubt I'll ever try mix with it.

Never tried it but will have to.... Work is making the whole property smoke free and VAPORS “are smoking”.
I will make a post asking questions about what I will need to get to get it done unfortunately this mindset is spreading fast!
Being treated like a leper was one of the driving forces to get me to quit analogs seems like it’s happening again

Need to find a deal on salts (small batch) because I’m sitting on a 8 year supply of the normal Nic and getting sick of getting kicked around unless I’m in my own home.

I got some 10ml samples of 3mg nic salt juice. They all were very clear with no color and it seemed like it would be like vaping 0mg. Smooth with no kick

that's a bummer but you bring up a good point I guess being able to use higher mg is a pro if you had to vape less or more stealthy its a good option.

I know there are some throat hit salts out there but that's what I like about my regular nicotine to is the T.H. the smooth nics and salt nic are just to smooth for me. I used to be on the hunt for the smoothest nic but then for whatever reason I started to miss that kick. I test a lot of flavors or new recipes in zero and by the end of the day its not the nicotine I miss but the kick.

The juice I tried I could tell if mod was working until I exhaled and seen the vapor. maybe if I went for 9mg it would be different

Well it didn't take long for me to change my mind lol. I got a bottle of the stuff to work with. I got three pod styled devices since I posted that. I've only done one mix with it at 18mg. It's sort of an orangish pineapple thing. I still can't exhale through my nose with salts. I also think it has a weird flavor but doesnt tear up my throat at high concentrations. I'm going to try it my usual way of mixing (70/30, 3mg) to see what I notice. I'm astonished more people haven't commented on the actual flavor it brings. It's not pleasant. I'll do more testing for science :D.

I mix with nic salts exclusively and my nic salts have no taste at all. I buy it all from LNW.

Salts are all I mix with now. Got a couple samples from NN, smooth and I forgot... middle of the road throat hit or something. Not a big difference between the two, middle is very smooth, smooth you cant feel in your throat at all. Smooth is probably better for a pod mix at 30+mg but I mix around 15mg for a MTL tank and 4mg for DL squonk setups.

I get no off flavor at all and I never did like NN freebase flavor but their salts have zero taste to it. NN is the only salts I've mixed with so far.

Salts to me satisfy much quicker, I don't chain vape any longer. I was kind of lazy about mixing, don't have much time for it so most of the time I just ordered juice. But not much low nic juice choices out there in nic salts. So after getting hooked, I started mixing more frequently since mr good vape was about the only low nic salts juice I liked and one flavor just doesn't work for me... no such thing as a ADV.

Lately for work I've been mixing nic salt at 18mg in a few recipes, can't go out as often as I would like there. Does seem to satisfy me a little faster and I can go longer between toots. Found out I can't handle commercial nic salts at the usual 30 or 35mg range, makes my lungs feel like they are closing up and I cough like a mother, no matter what set up I use. For home I use my freebase, have lots of that stored up.

Never tried Salt NIC and really no plans to because at 3MG I don't see a need to. Even when the rare opportunity comes along where I need some high test still use my regular Nicotine.

I’ve used both and prefer 3mg vape juice. Salt nic has its place, I won’t deny that.

Been using salts to mix with exclusively for over a year. Have some freebase and did a couple back to back tests using both. I noticed no difference in taste, coil gunk, or how fast the nic hits me. Only difference for me and my two guinea pigs was throat hit, freebase was a bit harsh after a few months using salts.
