That's how I handle it as well, however the issue of inline images having the right third of them cut off is still an annoyance.
Not a huge one, but figured worth a mention.
I never used my phone to access any forum and hate the Mobile Versions of most sites. Since I got the New Pixel 2XL I started to use my Smartphone more and when accessing the VU I have the same problem but found turning the screen sideways helps due to the large display~! Definitely needs some work though.

I have the same issues on android, dunno if iPhones have the same problem, but I do the same as Tom, enlarge the screen. Turning the screen sideways does help with some issues, but pics are still cut off unless opened in a new tab.
I'm normally on the laptop, desktop, or tablet without issue. But when I'm at work, it's the phone or nothin'. (Yeah, I know I should be working, but my job mainly consists of sitting at a desk, waiting for the phone to ring. So I'm on the phone a lot.

So you people are making me look into this further~! Expanding the image helps but one of the things missing on the Mobile Site is being able to click on New Posts. That is a major PITA. Sure I can see a thread from going from my email but sucks having to go back read an email and go to the thread each time and not being able to see the new alerts like with a Desktop version. I never thought I would actually be saying fix the freaking Mobile version because for years I used my Laptop to access the Contractor sites. I was the one saying fuck it I don't need it and now I would like to use it. Just an adjustment right?
I have to click on the red "forums" button to get to the home page. That's the only way I see the new posts button.
It's annoying. When I really want to see the whole picture I open it in a new tab. Or if its a thread with lots of pictures I request desktop site. I use google Chrome.
I primarily use a PC or Laptop for accessing the Web but since I got the Pixel 2XL now using the Phablet more for web access. Still a PITA at times which is one reason the Laptop is better for Mobile Web Access. Even with a 6" screen and high resolution not all mobile sites are configured properly. One of the issues I found years ago was the Web Programmers were using large desktop monitors instead of checking their work on a smart device.
It only seems to happen on this site and none of the other forums I frequent, so it's something specific to the way things have been setup here. Almost as if the forum software is optimized for a certain resolution, but the black background image with the vertical Vaping Underground text is of a substantially higher resolution. I really have no idea, of course, but if I had to take an absolute shot in the dark that's probably where I'd start poking around first.
Not even sure why the black background image is even necessary, actually, since visually speaking we just want to have the forum frame in view. There really isn't an instance I can think of where we need or want to see that background image, so perhaps removing it altogether might be the solution. Kinda above my pay grade though. Lol
