Did it ever happen to one of you?

Hi folks, glad to talk to you guys.

I was vaping with Clapton SS 316L. Using TC with ohms locked and loving it, with 55w.

Out of nowhere it just didnt work on TC anymore. If i put into Watt mode all work fine, but in TC it just didnt get enough Volts to work. Things like, 0,3 volts and no vape... Put back in watts and 3,2 - to 3,8 volts and lots of vape...

Other thing is the ohms just pop up. How i use duals, it was around 0,21. Then go to 42-44. I though one should just had been disconnected. But, in Watts mode, both of them was heaten...

I was worried, and replace the SS Coils for a identical, but new pair. Everything fine again.

Do you know if sometimes the SS coils can like crack for TC or something like that?

Ah! One thing. Yesterday i cleaned the coils and, after hotten them up, put water in it. Should i do this with SS or just regular Kantal?

Thanks Guys.

(Using Revenger - Zeus Dual RTA and the coils form the pic down here an, and when the shi* happens, juice was Bangsawan apple-grape).

Best for all.

UPDATE: Even with new coils some times the vape just dont come. I've noticied is not just the volts that dont go up, bus watts also.

im guessing one thing could be the problem, if you guys think its possible.

Im vaping like in 150 celsius. Then immeaditly drop to 100. But ii doesnt vape. Maybe because its too hot to go to 100 and it dont send energy to it? Is that possible?

Cause if i put to like, 180, right away, it seems to vape again...

Like juicy said, tc is still in it’s relative infancy, when you think about it chronologically.
Yihi abd evolv are regarded to be the better than the rest and more accurate.
Nothing wrong with vaping in power mode. I was a huge tc user with mostly dna boards; but, have lately switched back to using power mode only.

Unless you are using a mod with the DNA chip or Yihi, it is highly likely the TC is just not going to work well or consistently

TC just has not been perfected by most chip makers
Im using a revenger x.... dont know the chip :/

SS wire material's resistance increases as it heats up, so when in wattage mode and you see the Ohms increase, it is because this is the normal property of the wire.

This rate of increase of the resistance to a given wattage, is also a known value for SS, called 'TCR' or 'TFR', and precisely by using this value is HOW TC mode works.

If you are dropping out of TC mode and into wattage mode, it us usually because of something in your build (like either hot-spots on your coils if contact coils, or intermittent connections in the posts holding down your wires) that are interfering with your mod's ability to read and calculate resistance properly.

If you want to try and keep using TC mode, make sure that you space your coils to the wraps are APART rather than touching, and also try tightening down your screw posts more if you are using an RDA/RDTA/RTA.

Also, it is VERY normal when using pre-made coils heads for the ACTUAL resistance to be a little different from what it says on the coil. For example, with SS316L, if the printing on the coil says 0.40 Ohms, and when cold reads as 0.44 Ohms, this is normal, but if you are chain vaping at 80w, the resistance can read up to even 0.60 Ohms, and this is ALSO normal.

Similarly with Kanthal KA1 or Nichrome N80, if printed on the coil head it says 0.50 Ohms, but when installed in your tank and read on your mod, it 'reads' it as 0.57 or even 0.62 Ohms, this is ALSO normal.

Thanks so much for your answer. Apreciated. Just a question about this -- "you space your coils to the wraps are APART". It means its better to the wires not be touching each the other? is this? Or to make sure the coils touchs nothing (each other, metal asside, etc) except the coil hole. Say it cause my clapton SS are very tight together, almost it is just one piece (is this one of the options i was askik above). And if is not ask too much, in my first post i put a pic of the claptons im using (will post again here). Wondering if they are pure SS or if the center wire is something else... Ah. Ill put also a pic of the clapton itself here. If you can please take a look. And again, thanks so much for your help.

(And just for info, im using a Zeus Dual RTA, and this coils are 3mm i guess. They get to be set just in the limit to not touch anything().

UPDATE:

At the end, my MOD was ruinned. Began to have other issues with TC. Suddenly it just didnt work at all. In 100 celsius or 315 celsius same amount of vape and same temperature (was worinking in TC just like in Power mode, if i put 70 watts, the vape for TC in 100 C ou 300C was the same, in amount and also in temperature). Lucky my mod still in warranty. Changed today and im a happy TC'er again :)

Thanks for the suport above you guys.

Best for all.
