Not that I'm at you guys stature but .4 works really well for me.. .3 always spins in my frames when I coil it.

For .1×.3 ribbon stacks, 29g frames are compulsory IME because else, yes it does spin in my frames excepting if my ribbon stack is using 6ply or higher, in which case 28g also appears to work just fine for that.

I usually use 28 frames if framing. 26 always brings my ohms too low

So I just did another fralien 9×.4. 2×28g 36 wrap and I think my cores are facing the wrong direction. It was really weird when I coiled it . The other one I got out of the stick pulled loose and screwed up. Not sure what happened . Looked good before I coiled it

Looks good to me man. The key to keeping ribbon wire vertical is good prep in my opinion. I was a tape guy until I figured out that hot glue was a lot better of an option. It prevented the cores from moving in any way what so ever. All in all I'd say you did a good job and the real test is the vape. If it vapes well then you did a great job. Keep on working on it brother. Your doing great!

Tried something different today. I’ve never tried a serial build but I guess it’d be something like this?
Alien 4x30g/38g, SS316l, 4mm id, 7.5 wraps, 0.46 ohms
I’m vaping it at about 6.2 volts so not quite a true serial huh? Learning how to make the most of this HUGE deck!

6.2 volts isnt much lower than what some series mods would put out :>

If you guys want to coil your alien wire without the wrap sliding (happens with larger decore aliens)
Use toothless or flat jaw pliers and bend one end 180 degrees so it lays back on top of itself and crush it down with the pliers. Then grab that fold with the hand you coil with. Its easier then it sounds...Ill produce pictures soon.

well i have been absent for a while. busy with life and no real need to build anything (lots of setups with barely used builds to rotate thru)...and i havnt been buying any vape stuff for a while either...but today i got a wasp nano...
Untitled1.jpg
its not a fresh build, just a spare from a half-dub build i did ages ago (this was the ugly duckling out of the three coils i made) and its the perfect fit. not performing very well though. one too many wraps i think. ill fix it later, for now its working enough to get me through another busy day.

lots of great work in the last few pages. i just got caught up and i see some more new people (welcome) and lots of progress (congrats) and helping going on (thanks)

3x28k/36n80.. got wonky in the middle bit had enough for one. Messing with my new build station that I made at 3am the other night. Lol. Spin Lt clamped to an L bracket. Need to make a table to fit the dead space though.

Heard that rta has good flavor, how is it?

Tried alien stagg couple times. Failed. Tried a ssfc. Failed.
In both cases my frames collapse when I try to fuse.. I’m hating my little clothes pins right now. How do you all keep your staggered frames parallel?
Edit - just saw people talking about this in the stagger forum. Looking forward to your video @Pegleg Meg!

I think I can do it Thursday - tomorrow is recycling volunteer day (lol) but then I Have to make some ssfc, anyway, so bam yeah I'll record it

I also tried "staggering" the frames to begin with by just claptoning exactly half of the frame and stretching it, and It Worked haha, I was so tickled

I was a professional Heavyweight Muy Thai Kickboxer in Japan, and Korea from my early to mid 20s. I found a lot of success but that was hard on my body. I can't imagine making that type of training sacrifice for 20 years. I have all the respect in the world for you.

Both are a tough life...8 years in the Marine Corps, then 12 in the Army. Military Police Sergeant (E7 Retired) Weapons specialist and instructor, Less than lethal weapons specialist and instructor, hand to hand combat expert and instructor, Unarmed Self Defense expert, Instructor (through Level III) and fighter. Crime scene investigator and reconstructor, Special Victims Advocate and investigator. And in my early days; a 2nd Force Reconnaissance Marine (nowadays under MARSOC). The list goes on and on, but that's all ancient history now. I'm a tired, hurt, damaged old man at 42. Lmaooooo

ROFL!!!:giggle: Well you still have your sense of humor in tact, that's pretty important. Plus you're a good builder and you can make some of the sickest mohawks I've ever seen! You're good brother.
