Is this possible?

Okay been going back and forth with a buddy. I say no, but he says using a 20700 in conjunction with a sleeved 18650 in a mod will work & operate perfectly normal. What does everyone else think?

Its a bad idea any way you slice it. Depending on the batteries in play you are going to have two different actual voltages, amperages and CDR's.

Best case scenario is it works but you almost certainly ruin one one of the batteries. If in parallel best case scenario is you ruin one of the batteries but likely both and in series, you will most certainly pop a battery.

Without knowing the batteries in play one could easily assume the 20700 is going to be stronger which will make the 18650 work harder to keep up, cause it to fatigue and fail. The type of failure depending on how it is being used.

I think both of you need to read up on battery usage and safety precautions. @jwill gave you a good lesson.
