"Whether you consider rugelach cookies or miniature pastries, they are essentially extra-rich pie crust rolled around assorted sweet fillings. Three traditional rugelach flavors are included here: hazelnut-cinnamon, raspberry-walnut, and chocolate-hazelnut. These recipes require FlavourArt flavorings, including Zeppola, plus Cheesecake Graham Crust by The Flavor Apprentice. All flavorings used are diketone-free."

How are you getting on with your cola mixes notsomini?

Time has gotten away from me so this is late — I did try the Mango Coke about a week or so ago. It was good however not a favorite for me in comparison with all the other HIC recipes I mix. I did not get much mango and instead more of the passion fruit. This was fine for me as I do like passion fruit. I did occasionally taste the orange. The coke flavor was always there.

It's a main component of the pastry bit, so if you don't like Zeppola, probably best to skip the recipe.
On the other hand, if you like my Orange Rolls or Cinnamon-Sugar Cookies recipes, you'll probably like Rugelach.

:):D New FA flavors are currently listed on the main page at https://www.bullcityflavors.com/.

Quick descriptions for some of them, beginning with the two I'm most impressed with. Finally - FA makes creamy, sweet vanillas!

Crema Bavarese (Bavarian Cream): I'd happily vape this one standalone, which isn't something I say about many FA flavors. They could have named this one Vanilla Custard. It's smooth, creamy, lush, nicely sweet vanilla - you could say French vanilla. I'm so pleased there's no sour/lemon note, no spice, no "bakery notes," no caramel, no fruit - nothing but creamy (French?) vanilla. It's tasty standalone, blends well with bold flavors as a main ingredient, and works GREAT as minor addition of creamy vanilla in recipes. In my opinion, this is #1 most useful of the bunch, and I think it'll prove to be the most popular one.

Gelato Vaniglia (Vanilla Gelato): Sweet, lightly creamy, fruity vanilla. I swear I taste pear in this; it's excellent with fruity mixes. It's a brighter, sharper vanilla flavor than Crema Bavarese. It is tasty standalone, though I personally prefer Crema Bavarese for that. Also no sour/lemon flavor or spice here. If you like recipes with fruit+creamy vanilla, this should be your #1 choice of FA's new flavors.

Maybe graham crackers are a uniquely American thing. I don't think most Americans would identify FA Graham Crust as graham crackers in a blind taste test. I don't think it will replace [insert your favorite graham cracker flavoring] for many people. Not a plain graham, not a honey graham, not a cinnamon graham, and not one of FA's most concentrated flavors. BUT I have a feeling it'll be a key flavoring for a narrow range of mixes. I'm not trying to be mysterious here; I just haven't mixed enough with it to find its secrets.

NY Cheesecake - (even mixed with FA's new Graham Crust) is not a replacement for TFA Cheesecake Graham Crust. It IS accurate cheesecake flavor - this kind: https://www.artandthekitchen.com/tall-and-creamy-new-york-cheesecake/. Note that recipe includes sour cream and a tiny bit of lemon. You can best get that mild "twang" when you vape this at higher power. Many will be tempted to start with NY Cheesecake and add to it. Mix the other way around for best results. Get your supporting flavors as the majority of the recipe, then gradually add NY Cheesecake (starting at 1-2%) to cheesecake-ify it. If you begin with it as the main ingredient, it's easy to overpower subtle flavors & end up with an over-flavored mess. Best steeped, by the way!

Donut Glassato Cioccolato (Chocolate Donut). I clearly taste & smell elements of Nonna's Cake and Breakfast Cereal (or perhaps it's their new Graham Crust flavoring), but I have little more to say about this one yet. Okay, one thing. Just my opinion, but I think FA excels at creating authentic-tasting recipe elements rather than more complex blends like this. One more thing - shake well before use. It separates like FA Cocoa does.

Dragonfruit. I am not a fan of real dragonfruit or dragonfruit flavorings (which taste fermented to me), but FA has done a fine job making an accurate, authentic-tasting dragonfruit. It's one of FA's more concentrated fruit flavors. I'm curious to hear whether people who get heartburn from vaping pineapple flavors (hey @wllmc ) react the same to FA Dragonfruit.

AWESOME!!!!!! I LOVE HIC REVIEWS!!!!!! ok ok enough shouting :p I agree with everything you have posted here and pretty much have the exact same thoughts on them. I do really like the dragon fruit flavor and so far no heartburn from it. I havent spent a whole day vaping it yet but from what I have vaped I havent had trouble.

Good to hear! Maybe it can sub for pineapple for people who get heartburn. I'd guess from the flavor it shares some of the same compounds.

I have a stuffy-head-sore-throat head cold right now, so there are lots of flavors that taste muted to me and others that just don't taste right. With colds like this I usually vape mint, but I'm vaping standalone Gelato Vaniglia today. Despite the cold, I can still taste all the nuances very clearly, which is (for me) rare with creamy flavors and vanillas.

Just a random observation. If you're a vanilla fan, try this one next time you're sick, and see if you agree.

HIC, i purchased this recipe even though i'm not a huge fan of peach vapes. I don't dislike them, but it's not something i mix very often at all. I purchased mostly to get some ideas for use of Vanilla Gelato. Curious, which other fruit flavors would you recommend for use in place of the peach, if i were to keep the rest of the recipe the same. And at what percentages. Thanks!

In place of Peach + White Peach ... how about Apple + Fuji? I'd use the same percentages and keep everything else the same.

Thanks. I actually mixed the original and enjoyed it a lot. I don't know how i feel about Apple and Fuji. I'll try it, but apple mixes aren't something i go back too often either. I just mixed a version of the original, but instead of Peach and White Peach i used Peach, Apricot and Papaya. Will let you know how i like it. Regardless, the base of this mix is excellent, and i'll be trying other fruit combinations with it too.

Just a couple of hours ago I tested CGD and VIC which were made about 5 days ago. The CGD was at 2.5%. I could taste the chocolate and it was the best I've tried to date, but it was very weak. My notes read to bump it up to 4-5%. I think it's going to be very good in Bronuts in lieu of CAP.

As for the VIC, it's got a taste that I just don't like at all. I went over to ELR and someone had checked the ingredient list and found it contains Cyclotene. I can't say for sure it that's what I'm tasting, but whatever it is, I can't use it. I seem to be hyper sensitive to a number of flavors.

Hi there. Sorry if this isn't a good place to ask this, but I'm a big fan of HIC's Mixes and Thai Mango, Green Tea Matcha IC, and Lychee Pudding are some of my favorites. I just got the FA Red Bean flavor. Do you think there's a recipe it would work well in? As a sub, variation, or add-on? I love Asian style liquids, and anything creamy/starchy.

Thanks soooo much!! :)

Wow I didn’t know FA had a Red Bean flavor, yum! Thinking of a great Asian Iced Red Bean drink, uhm... there’s red bean, syrup (probably sugar made into a syrup) some add milk & crushed ice.

I wrote my first impressions of FA Red Bean back here: http://vapingunderground.com/threads/hics-mixes-diy-recipes-store.54921/page-69#post-1930287
I love Asian foods, including pastries with sweet bean paste, but to be brutally honest this is not a flavoring I'd use in an attempt to make a vape version.

A fond memory I have from living in Korea is eating the red bean pastries on the street in the winter. They'd be steaming hot and a welcome relief from the cold.

I wonder if we could make a Kimchi vape?

That red bean is just....no. And I would use a big dose of at least 80% NO in a recipe. :blech:
The one mix I've made with it was with a mere .25%, I believe, and it still took over the whole mix, it was rancid. And smelly. And just very....NO.
