lost vape paranormal owners , problem

Hi , ive had this mod a couple of days and it looks amazing and works as you would expect .

However ive just discovered a slight slight niggle . If you own this mod you know that the side panels slighly move up and down making a slight clicky noise . I knew about this before i purchased it and im fine with it ... but i have an additional problem . On one of the panels (carbon fiber one with the lost vape logo on it) it actually rocks if i apply light pressure at the top of the panel and the bottom pops out .
A quick investigation revealed that the recieving magnet in the mod is raised and causing the carbon fiber panel to rock . The other side is fine and the magnet is not raised and incidentally if i put the wood panel in i dont have this problem .

I would just like to know if anyone else has the same niggle ?. Ive put some double sided tape in the recess to stop it happening ......., IMG_1559.JPGhere is a pic of the raised magnet causing the rocking . Anyone with mod , could you please check if you have this raised magnet . Thanks

Go see DJLS VAPES on You Tube I believe he had one that the door rattled, if not him one of the reviewers did. At the same time other reviewers said they do not have a Rattle.

Yeah mine was like that but I just pressed the magnet back in and added a drop of superglue. Sits flat now and no more rocking. Easy fix. May I ask though? Did you buy that from Coval? If you did, I can help you out in getting it exchanged. If not, I'd contact your vendor first.

My plain carbon fiber panel can slide around a bit on the mod. The carbon fiber panel with the logo has a wobble like you described. The wood panels fit good.

Hey badfrog , sound like we have exactly the same issue . Are you keeping the mod ?
Ive packed the wobble out and used double sided tape . The panel now feels solid but sits proud ( slightly raised ) cheers

I hadn't really thought about sending it back. I got a pretty good deal on it and it works just fine. I primarily just use it around the house and it certainly is nice to look at. I finally took the panels off and the magnet is sticking out on the wobbly panel while it's flush on the others. I couldn't press it in all the way by hand so I'll have to devise a way to press it in with tools without damaging the panel.

On another note, I thought I had heard that they would be offering other panels for these but I couldn't find them anywhere. Is it true or am I thinking of another mod?

Ahhh so your problem is actually the magnet on the panel and mine is the receiver magnet on the mod . Im waiting for the supplier to reply to me . In regards to the additional panels , not seen any on the net as of yet . Cheers

Oh, I misread your post. I've actually been using the heck out of mine the last couple days. It's in SS with the Red Raptor leather and since I've got a Serpent SMM RTA with the ultem drip tip, I switched back to the wood panels and all together it seems to match up fairly well.

Hope all goes well with your inquiry

Yea took me a couple of days to decide on colour , it was a toss up between gunmetal red or gunmetal red raptor.

Update on returning item .
Evolution vaping would like me to return unit so they can inspect it then either repair it or replace it . This could take around 5 days . Not sure if im going return it yet though .

odd problem im having with my brand new paranormal 166, i bought a sherman RTA deck for it, now time for the weird part, when i try to use the two new items together i keep getting the "low oms" or "Short out" error messages but when i use my ijoy (old) RDTA on the new paranormal it works perfectly fine, has anyone had the same or simular issues with that exact build???

Do me a favor please...measure the length of the 510 threads on the iJoy RDTA and measure the length of the 510 threads on the Sherman. I'm willing to bet body parts the Sherman's 510 is considerably longer.

510 spaces are actually identical to the mm

Usually this is caused by an atty that has a long 510 and when tightened until the atty sits flush, it actually ends up pushing the 510 pin in the mod down too far and the positive wire from the chip contacts the body of the mod causing a direct short circuit. Guess that's not the case here though. Going to have to think on this one for a bit.

lol well looks like i fixed it lol... when the sherman deck (atty if im correct? im not fimilar with the term) was finally out of juice i did a full extended teardown everything looked ok when i was putting stuff back together i made sure to over tighten (1/8th turn extra) every screw, nut, etc... and now it works so maybe it was off by a fraction of a mm. but this is good to know for future users of new mods/decks makesure everything is tight as fuck and it will work lol

got a new issue with temp control on the paranormal 166 temp control always displays off when firing i get one or two hits off of it then i get told temp protect for 15-30 minutes, i know my atty is a tank and holds heat more but normal vapes that are temp controlled usually allow use again after 1-3 minutes. i need to know why this thing does that. watts work like a dream but when you want to use it in temp mode good luck... if anyone has it working on theirs please give me all your specs on the profiles so i can match it 100% im tired of owning shit that only half works

Does anyone know if you can get custom panel for the paranormal. Not the orginal stuff like custom. I saw a pic of one the was really ornate looking but can't find it now.

Not the same problem but I got the Paranormal DNA166 and the battery door came off. Does any one know where to get a new door? I tried emailing the company and have not gotten a response.

For those with a slight rattle or tiny bit of play on their carbon fiber or wood panels(carbon for me) pieces of simple masking tape, not the stickiest ever made, but the painters kind, works great like a shim in a window seal kind of. I marked where I put it(1st pic is 1st attempt and still had side to side so I added 2 more small pieces) just thought I would share, I just got mine today and was like balls!
