In a bit of a quandary here...my latest newbie says all the juice I started her out with is too sweet. She wants something with menthol (not a problem), but nothing sweet. I hardly ever use sweetener and none of what I gave her contains sweetener. Evidently the sweetness of the flavorings themselves is too much for her. So what to do? Drop a bit of menthol and nicotine in VG and call it a juice? Never had this complaint before. o_O
Wow....usually the noobs want sweet juice! I don’t even know where to start. I’ve never had that issue so I wouldn’t know what to do. Good luck with that one.....is the VG too sweet? That could be a problem. Maybe have her vape straight VG to see.....

Well....the chemistry lab is open, right now I'm trying 1% FA menthol with nic in a 70vg/30pg in the Royal Hunter RDA, and I definitely get a sweetness I didn't expect from menthol alone. Not overpowering by a long shot, but how it tastes to her might be a different story. Maybe Polar Blast and just rely on the sweetness of the VG alone? I just can't see vaping anything with no sweetness at all, but that's just me.

Perhaps you could try:
2% FA fuji
.25% INW cactus(add more or less, up to you)
.5% FA polar blast
.3% FA spearmint(replace the polar blast and spearmint with how much menthol they want)
.4% FA fresh cream OPTIONAL

I use it as a flavor reset, but maybe that'll do the trick?

Dragon Punch

@Howard Hughes ok, what's the recipe, if you don't mind sharing? Sounds tasty.

The original was by ddirtyvapes & I first made it about 2 years ago. I liked it, but it was all- TFA & some of the percentages didn't suit me. It looks like I've made it in this modified form now about 7 times & I love it. Warning- you're coils won't like it much (the citrus punch is very sweet), but it's SO good, even as a S&V.

7% TFA Citrus Punch
3% CAP Dragon Fruit
2.4% FA Pomegranate
2% TFA Sour

The taste reminds me of homemade summer punch we would make in the '70's for family gatherings when I was kid.

Nice, I'm more of a TFA dragon fruit guy myself, Cap just has a slight chemical taste for me. I think I got some sour running around somewhere, if I do I'll go ahead and mix 'er up. Thanks.

I have about 200 flavors I mix with but my wife (ex menthol smoker) only wants menthol. She will try what I am vaping and say something like "that's pretty good" and pick up her menthol. So I make her what she likes which is very simple: ECX menthol @ 4% with 75/25 vg/pg and 2 mg nic. Keeps her off cigs...

Your post reminds me of Purilum Watermelon. It tastes exactly like a Jolly Rancher stick to me without the sweetness.

Ok guys, I have to thank all you Inawera Lemon Cake praisers. Shits really gooood :D. Would Nona's be a natural partner? I read its a good cake w/lemon notes or whatever. I don't have it.

Next I gotta get the Cherimoya cuz I noticed it gets lots of love too.
I have German Flavors (from Vaperstek) and Inawera cherimoya. Both are excellent. Oddly enough, I also have the Flavorah version, but have yet to crack the seal. o_O

I'm gonna play around with a couple things today, I had definitely thought of cutting the flavoring in half and calling it "decaf" (har har :teehee:), but in over 3 and a half years of mixing, this is the first complaint of this sort I've addressed.
‘‘Tis the season” !
Get some nice fresh mint and make a NET like cold extraction. Just crush it (like for a mint julep) and cover with PG for a while. Strain thru coffee filters. I’ve done this. One sample of this and they will be begging for some added sweetener.

If she's not got anything against peppermint I've been digging Flavorahs Pepermint. It's not very sweet to me at all. In fact, I've failed miserably at trying to sweeten it up. It is quite heavy on the menthol though. You more than likely know all this already :p

Yesterday mixed up 12ml Chartreuse Punch and 30ml Dubble Bubble for myself, 30ml Yeti Cake and 60ml Creamy Skittles for my son, today mixed 30ml Brown Butter Custard for my sister to go along with my latest attempt at an RY4 for her. Hubbs is making a juice delivery tomorrow, I hope.

My wife only likes one recipe, not just menthol, but she NEVER varies. Cracks me up because I get so bored with even my favs so quickly. But not her. I've learned over time not to even try & mix it up with her juice. Makes mixing nights a lot easier, though.

A lot of times I order a bunch of flavors and only really like a few. I tend to try duds. But this order, the first three I'm lovin!

First was INW-Lemon Cake, YUM. This lemon isn't like all the others. I don't know if I get much cake but it might show up later. I vaped it with an overnight steep.

Second was TFA-Pistachio. I really dig it. I have no idea what made me put it in the cart. It tastes like real pistachio but is kinda creamy.

Third, the one I'm trying tonight, FLV Milk Honey. This is some really good stuff. I think it will go nicely with alot of flavors. I get the vibe that this is the kind of flavor that will put a lot of recipes over the top. Come to think of it, this with pistachios could be really good.

Hopefully this trend continues into tommorow.

Hmm I wonder how milk honey would be to fatten up orange flavors? Orange blossom honey is awesome

I'm the opposite- when I started out it was with TFA Dragonfruit, but for the last couple of years I've preferred the CAP. Try it both ways & stick with what YOU like better, that's what I did!

So today I tried a few more.

First one was FW- Waffle Cone. It's good. I personally didn't get much maple syrup. This could be real nice with the right support.

Second, CAP- Apricot. I dunno, this might be real good in blends.. But by itself, I didn't vape it and think, "That's apricot!" It's nice enough and sweet but I've had Inawera's. This aint my first apricot rodeo.

Third, FA- Cantaloupe. It's good. I've had better melons, but this aint bad.

Forth, INW- Creme Brulee. Winner, winner, winner. This is borderline amazing. I had to google what creme brulee even was, I never had it. I pretty much love how this tastes.

I will have to invest in that INW Creme Brule! That's one of my 2 fav deserts.

Tonight I also tried,

FW- Toffee Dream Cream. My bad, I put it in a tank after vaping chocolate. The chocolate won't leave these wicks. I'm getting distortion.

FW- Pralines and Cream. It's a really good flavor, nutty and creamy. This stuff is reminding me of Haagen Dazs right now. Flavor West gets a bad rap sometimes. But flavors like this make me call BS on that. This is awesome.

Yes, a friend left a bottle over here and it made me very happy and it made me like pecan vapes and be more open minded toward them.

The waffle is sweet and present, The vanilla ice cream is creamy, dense and very sweet and the pecan definitely resides in butter and sits right into the caramel. All syrups right now taste the same to me right now but a less sweet maple would be perfect.

This is a sweet, rich, very dense and awesome vape.
I just got this.....how good! You’re right about the maple. Maybe a touch less. Now that I know what I’m working with, I’ll start to formulate a recipe, then post the thread. Thanks for turning me on to this one!

I was right guys. TFA-Pistachio + FLV-Milk & Honey = DELICIOUS.

I'm really impressed with FW-Pralines & Cream too. I'm having a hard time putting it down. If you ever need to add something to quality for free shipping, dont forget about it. You won't be disappointed.
Ooooooo, imma gonna go mix that up right now. I love pistachio and Milk and Honey is like some kind of magical wonderland. I love that stuff.....

Well you might have it all figured out by the time I get home. It is my hope upon returning home to some of the recipes made before I left are actually good to vape. Would be a nice surprise.

I’ve been kind of burned out on strong flavor juices lately, so, I wanted something mellow that I can almost kind of ignore.
But without having been able to order my custard/cake flavors in my cart at BCF, I decided to revisit and revamp a Lemon IceBox Pie that I attempted a while back but got way too crazy with adding so many different flavors that it was just a mess.
So, I simplified the recipe and ended up with this...I’m using it as a S&V right now and it’s pretty good for what I was looking for, but I’d be willing to bet this would be even better if I allowed it some time to steep.

I'm about to take the plunge and try out some of the recipes from this thread. I've been mixing with concentrates exclusively. What are the most important/most used flavors I'll need?
I'm going to definitely be making that corn bread pudding recipe from vaporoxx and some of the custards I've seen.

I've been finding so many great flavor combos recently. I usually take a little bit of a couple of testers, and combine them in a tank. Tonight I put FW-Toffee Dream Cream and INW-Creme Brulee in my tank. It's damn good tasting. I'm usually a fruit vaper. But I got a bunch of custards/creams/caramels types of flavors recently. I'm definitely making a turn in my DIY voyage.
